nadiatehrani:
truthfully, nadia wasnât surprised by the ominous turn of events. simply protecting and gathering intel for a wealthy man seemed to good to be trueâthere were easy missions, and then there were too easy. the latter always seemed to derail at some point, the illusion of security shattered just when you thought things were going smoothly.Â
still, she didnât like it one bit.
because theyâd been kept in the dark, picking through threads of conversation and searching through rooms for anything that could point towards a threat on mcgee ( or them ), nadia had no real idea of who or what had put them in danger. had them compromised. idle gossip was not enough to go off on; the CEO claiming mcgee stole his investors could have been concealing an ulterior motive just as easily as mcgeeâs most trusted business partner. or, perhaps, there was something far more worse at work than a clientâs paranoia and suspicion.Â
when she spotted a shock of red hair at a table, she took a seat next to agent 98, charming smile still in place. good. she needed to check on romy after the chilling message relayed over comm. she needed to know someone was okay. âcatherine! i was just talking to your father. so nice to see you again, i didnât know if iâd get the chance to catch up with all these people!â she nodded slightly towards the exit. âjoin me outside, would you? i could really use a change of scenery.â
romy spotted movement near her and turned her attention to a familiar face and smiled brighter than she ever had recently. catherine loved getting attention, and she made sure to make her interactions as showy as possible. the recent turn of events worried her, but catherine had and should remain unfazed. still, when the comms went down, a sense of dread filled in the pit of her stomach. âmrs. asadi, I didnât know you would be here, how are you?â she beamed, âoh, of course!â she rose from her seat and set the glass on the table.
