Alan Sbaffi  (from Italy) presents art which consists of bodies jading canvasses, which, though meaningless, “evoke every possible sense”, forcing the eye to study the result of a primal, non-academic gesture. Alan’s eroticism consists of total, anti-anatomic nudity refusing figurative representations, turning into a simple, inclusive language, which the artist revolutionises through obsessive repetition: his bodies are a single corpus, a consistent, precise set bringing together different forms of art (references to photography and sculpture are legion) and instruments (witness polish, lime and construction tools). Alan’s canvasses are the result of a study (carried out through minor languages) unfit for the cultural market, ignoring museum figurative trends, the value of which can be understood and felt immediately.
