Youâve been not-so-secretly in love with Hawkinsâ resident heartthrob for years. Problem is, he doesnât know you exist. Your best friend Eddie, though? He thinks about you all the time. In fact, you could almost say heâs a little obsessed.

âDo you think Iâm pretty?â
You held the chunky brown sweater up against yourself in front of the full-length mirror, furrowing your brow at the shapeless hunk of wool.
You looked over at where your best friend was sitting, slouched back against the pillows on your bed, flipping through an old music magazine that had suddenly become the sole focus of his attention.
âUhâŠwhatâs that?â Eddie stalled, trying to buy himself some time as he reluctantly lifted his glassy eyes from the page.
The two of you had just finished sharing a joint, and he was still much too high to wrap his brain around such a perilous question.
You spun around to face him, still clutching the unflattering sweater to your chest. âCome on, be honest. Would you think I was cute if you didnât know me?â
In all of the years the two of you had been friends, youâd never asked him anything like that before, and he froze as a faint paranoia started to rear its ugly head.
He thought you were pretty â of course he did, but that wasn't something he'd ever planned to say out loud. At the same time, he couldnât exactly tell you no.
As he considered his tenuous fate, he could see you staring at him, waiting. You started to tap your foot and he wasnât sure how much time had passed, but it seemed long. Too long.
With no chance of escape in sight, he decided on pleasantly non-committal. âUm, youâre alright, I guessâŠwhatâs this about?â
âGee, thanks.â You huffed a sigh at his lackluster response, even though you werenât sure what you had expected. Most of the time you were convinced Eddie didnât realize you were a girl, let alone think you were attractive.
âHey, câmon, Iâm sorry. Of course, I think youâre cute,â he quickly rushed to soothe you, all earlier caution thrown aside when he saw the hurt look on your face.
He reached out to try and grab your hand as you walked past him towards your closet, but you shook yourself free.
âNo, itâs ok. I asked you to be honest.â
With a sigh you tossed the sweater onto the pile of rejected outfits on your closet floor. Youâd spent a better part of the evening combing your wardrobe for something that could pass as stylish or chic, and it was becoming clear that your collection of lumpy knitwear just wasnât going to cut it.
âI think youâre pretty, ok? Gorgeous. You just caught me by surprise.â
âUh huh.â You proceeded to ignore him while you rifled through the tangled mess of hangers in your closet.
After a few minutes when the sting had subsided, you turned to look at him over your shoulder and saw that heâd gone back to browsing the music magazine.
âSorry, itâs justâŠwhenever I try to dress up and look hot, I never get it right. Sometimes I just wish I could get someone to notice me, you know?â
Eddie looked up at you with a grimace, biting back the words on the tip of his tongue. He knew exactly who that certain someone was.
The same someone youâd been infatuated with ever since youâd moved to Hawkins in the eleventh grade. The same someone who still consumed your every thought.
Dylan Daniels â the former reigning heartthrob of Hawkins High, whose tight butt filled out his acid wash jeans so well you couldâve sworn he painted them on each morning.
Dylan was popular, impossibly cool and blessed with the non-threatening type of good looks that made girls swoon and drop their panties at his feet.
Ever since youâd first laid eyes on him across the crowded cafeteria, your heart had burned for him with unwavering devotion. From that moment on youâd been convinced that the two of you were meant to be together; he was the perfect guy â aside from the fact that he didnât know you existed.
Every day at school you had been forced to watch him strut the halls of Hawkins High, arm draped around his perfectly perky cheerleader of the month. Back then youâd wished so badly that it could you instead, but he never looked your way.
And years later nothing much had changed.
After graduating youâd taken a full time job at Threads, a new store in Starcourt Mall that sold trendy clothing aimed at young adults and teens. Dylan had also stayed in Hawkins to work as a salesman for his fatherâs insurance company, and you would see him around town from time to time.
Whenever he came into the mall with his new flavor of the month, youâd watch them from afar, still hoping deep down that one day he might be yours.
âI mean, I get why he doesnât want me.â You scrunched your nose at your reflection. âAll the girls Dylan goes out with are so perfectââ
âI think youâre perfect,â Eddie interrupted, and you brushed off his words with a dismissive wave of your hand.
You looked down at your baggy sweatpants and worn out Garfield t-shirt with a frown. âI donât know. Maybe itâs time for a change.â
âIf he doesnât like you the way you are, itâs his loss,â Eddie muttered, and you nodded as if you agreed, but deep down you werenât so sure.
Your friend was a bit biased, after all.
He hadnât exactly made it a secret that he didnât care for Dylan or his friends, branding them sleazy kings of conformity who only cared about social status and parties.
âI donât know why youâre still so hung up on that guy, anyway. Heâs a jerk,â Eddie grumbled as he aggressively flipped a page of the magazine. âTrust me, youâre way better off alone.â
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes. Better off alone?
That was easy for him to say â he had someone.
Ever since youâd met Eddie back in high school, his love life had always been something of a mystery. Youâd heard rumors that heâd hooked up with a few girls here and there, but he never talked about them.
If you ever tried to bring up the topic of sex or dating in conversation, heâd quickly change the subject or start speaking in riddles you wouldâve needed a cryptologist to decipher.
He had a cool job at the music store and played in a heavy metal band, so you assumed he probably did pretty well with the single ladies of Hawkins. You had eyes after all, and even you could see that he was cute. Handsome, even.
He just seemed a little jaded in matters of the heart.
Sometimes when youâd lament about your lack of a relationship, Eddie would respond that love was just a scam â a corporate-funded illusion to get people to spend their hard earned money on flowers and heart-shaped boxes of candy. If he got himself really riled up, heâd add that it was only for the weak and the gullible, while assuring you that he was neither of those things.
Thatâs why it had been such a shock when heâd shown up with Stacy.
Bristling with hostile negative energy from the top of her teased bangs to the tips of her toes, Eddieâs new girlfriend was the absolute worst.
You werenât exactly sure what it was about her that drove you up the wall, but it could have been a few different things. Like how sheâd grip onto Eddieâs jacket so tight that her nails were practically entrenched in the leather, or the way sheâd leave lipstick marks on his cheeks like a little claim.
It could have been the way sheâd twirl his hair around her perfectly manicured finger while snapping her gum and shooting you daggers when she knew he wasnât looking â you were pretty sure she hated you even though youâd done nothing wrong.
Whenever you would meet up with them together, youâd have to watch them make kissy faces at each other until you wanted to gouge out your eyes.
It was rude, and the whole time you watched Stacy play with Eddieâs curls, youâd wonder why he wanted to be with someone awful like her. It didnât seem fair. Why did Stacy get to be with the guy she wanted?
Seeing them together only strengthened your resolve to find someone of your own.
You were tired of being the one who was always shoved aside. You deserved more out of life than being relegated to an unwanted third wheel.
If things kept going the way they were, you were convinced you were going to die Hawkinsâ sole remaining virgin â even Eddie was getting laid for goodnessâ sake.
You wanted to have sex. You wanted to be touched. You wanted to be adored like the heroines in your favorite books and movies. You wanted a Lloyd Dobler of your very own to stand outside your window and serenade you with love songs.
Love had never happened for you, but maybe you werenât trying hard enough. Maybe you needed to step up and finally take the bull by the horns â Dylan wasnât going to just fall into your lap.
Over the years youâd let yourself become complacent because youâd always had Eddie to depend on, but now that Stacy was in the picture that obviously needed to change.
You glanced at your friend in the mirrorâs reflection and narrowed your eyes in determination, resolved to finally take matters into your own hands.
You became a woman on a mission.
Moving to Hawkins during high school had been a challenging experience, and youâd had a hard time meeting people in the small town. It hadnât helped that you were a bit awkward and had mostly kept to yourself, something that didnât win you many friends.
Youâd spent most of your time alone, eating your lunches in the library until one day you met Eddie in the fantasy section and he took you under his wing.
When heâd introduced you to the ragtag group of students he referred to as his little lost sheep, you had looked around at their welcoming faces and breathed a deep sigh of relief.
After that day you were never alone again.
Hanging out with mostly guys had been great in a lot of ways, but had also left you lacking in the girl talk department.
As such, youâd never spent much time worrying about things like makeup or clothes, and you hadnât had anyone besides Eddie to talk to about your crushes â something heâd never seemed very keen to discuss.
You decided the first step in your transformation into a sexy, sophisticated woman was going to be a much needed upgrade to your outdated wardrobe.
With your employee discount at Threads, it seemed like the perfect place to start, so you worked up the nerve to ask your new co-worker Mandy for help.
Mandy was younger, just fresh out of high school, and super-enthused at the prospect of assisting with your little makeover. She took the responsibility very seriously and spent quite a long time debating which outfits you should try.
The clothing at Threads was much more racy and daring than anything youâd ever worn, so you were a bit nervous as you watched her rifle through the racks, her arms soon loaded down with a rapidly growing pile.
Once she was satisfied with her choices, she shooed you into a dressing room and then eagerly waited outside.
When you surveyed the items sheâd left hanging on the dressing room door, you took a deep, calming breath and reminded yourself that you need to step out of your comfort zone. If you wanted to end up one of the lucky girls on Dylan Danielsâ arm, you were going to need to start looking the part.
You figured youâd start out tame, choosing a short denim skirt and cropped off-the-shoulder top. When you walked out and saw your reflection in the store's large full-length mirror, you were instantly mortified by the snug fit and excess of revealed skin.
To the contrary, Mandy was thrilled with the results.
âOh my god, youâre such a hottie!â she squealed and clapped her hands in delight as you rotated in front of the mirror, studying your reflection from every possible angle.
âYou think so?â You bit your lip in uncertainty, wondering if she was just trying to be nice.
âOh, definitely!â Her face was beaming as she urged you back toward the dressing room. âI canât believe youâve been hiding that under all those ugly sweaters. Now go try on the rest!â
Once your initial nervousness wore off, aided by Mandyâs lively encouragement, you actually started to loosen up and let yourself have fun. As Whitney Houstonâs powerful voice belted from the storeâs overhead speakers, you smiled at your reflection as you twirled in front of the mirror.
Mandy was right, you didnât look half bad.
After settling on a few outfits, you stopped into Lovelace Lingerie on your lunch break and bought yourself a couple of sexy matching bra and panty sets â one could never be too prepared.
Next you decided to tackle makeup, so you made a trip to the department store in the mall and got a demonstration from the nice lady who worked at the cosmetics counter.
As you watched her expertly brush on eye shadow that complimented your complexion for the very first time, you couldnât help but think you looked amazing.
You ended up blowing a small fortune on lotions and fancy skin care products, then spent hours experimenting with which ones smelled the best and left your skin feeling velvety smooth.
Even though your finances were a bit tight, you justified the indulgence as an investment in your future. Besides, you couldn't put a price tag on true love.
Once you had achieved the look you wanted, that just left sex and dating advice, so you went to Melvald's and bought every womenâs magazine you could get your hands on.
You hadnât been on many dates, other than the night of your senior prom and a quick fling you had with a guy you met the summer after graduation. Heâd been polite and very sweet, but for you there hadnât been any spark, and your clumsy attempts to get each other off had only left you unsatisfied and frustrated.
With Dylan, you weren't going to leave anything to chance.
You spent hours pouring over the magazines as if they were great tomes of ancient wisdom, devouring articles like âHow to Have the Best Sex of Your Lifeâ and â10 Ways to Drive Your Man Wild With Desireâ.
Surprisingly, some of the articles were pretty detailed when it came to sex advice, and your eyes grew wide as you studied their step-by-step instructions.
You bookmarked the pages that seemed to have the best tips, from kissing techniques all the way to tantric orgasms â something you tucked away for later, more advanced reference.
Your head was swimming from all of the dating advice, most of which contradicted itself. Stroke his ego. Make him feel like heâs important. At the same time all of the articles stressed that you needed to exude confidence. That men were most attracted to women who were strong and knew what they wanted.
So you had to make it all about him, but be confident about it? Sure.
You practiced strutting your stuff in front of the mirror, holding your head up high and pushing back your shoulders. Like a mantra, you repeated the same affirmations over and over to yourself. You were gorgeous. You were confident. You were going to knock Dylanâs socks off the next time he saw you. The men of Hawkins werenât going to know what hit them.
As your confidence grew and you started to feel more comfortable in your own skin, it didnât take long before other people took notice. All of a sudden, guys who had never looked your way were paying you loads of attention.
You practiced your new flirting techniques during your breaks in the food court with the guys who worked behind the fast food counters, and you even managed to get yourself asked out on a couple coffee dates.
Those men ended up being boring, which was totally fine with you because in your mind they were all just practice â a test run for when you finally got the guy you really wanted.
Whenever Dylan ended up accompanying one of his dates into Threads, you swallowed down your envy when you saw him sneak into their dressing rooms to watch them try on clothes.
Every time he spoke to you in passing, youâd follow the tips from the magazines, making sure to flutter your eyelashes and laugh at all his jokes. Confidently.
Then one glorious day all of your patience and hard work finally paid off because it actually happened â Dylan came into the store alone.
After pretending to browse the racks for a few minutes, he finally approached you at the counter and after a little back and forth, asked you out to a movie that Friday night.
You were so overwhelmed with excitement that you could barely catch your breath, but somehow you managed to accept and wrote your phone number on a business card with a shaky hand.
The rest of the day it felt like you were walking on clouds and living in a dream. You were dying to tell Eddie your good news, but he hadnât dropped by or called you in days.
You supposed that if youâd told him about your upcoming date with Dylan, it would have just caused him to launch into one of his fiery rants about the rich and popular people of Hawkins, but still, you missed him.
Without Eddie around, things just werenât the same.
That Friday night, just as you finished getting dressed in the new outfit youâd bought for your date, you were surprised to hear a soft but persistent tapping on your bedroom window.
You still lived in your parentâs basement to save on money, which wasnât all that bad because it had been converted into a nanny-suite by the homeâs previous owners and was just like having your own little apartment.
Ever since high school, Eddie would show up most nights and knock on your bedroom window, then heâd either crawl inside or youâd run around to the back door to let him in â something that happened less and less once Stacy was in the picture.
When you looked up and saw Eddieâs familiar silhouette through the glass, you were surprised. You hadnât heard a word from him all week.
You gestured for him to come in and he crawled inside, lowering himself onto the chair you kept under the window for that purpose.
Ignoring him, you finished pulling up your thigh-high stockings then twirled in front of the mirror, admiring the way your short plaid skirt lifted just enough to reveal a tease of your new underwear.
âWhereâre you going dressed like that?â Eddie asked, his voice thick with disapproval. You got a little rush of satisfaction from the stunned look on his face.
âFor your information, Iâm going out with Dylan tonight. He finally asked me out.â You pouted at your reflection in the mirror as you reapplied a touch of lip gloss.
Eddie frowned as he looked you up and down, dark clouds brewing behind his eyes. He didnât like your new outfit at all, especially the way it hugged your curves and showed off your hips and thighs. Since when had you started wearing such revealing clothingâŠand was that makeup?
âSeriously? That guyâs such a dick,â he scoffed, walking over to your mini-fridge and helping himself to a can of beer.
He cracked it open then sat down on your bed, taking a sip as he looked at you over the top of the can. âYou really think you can keep up with a guy like that?â
You whirled around to face him. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
You could feel your face getting hot as irritation tightened your chest. Eddie could have at least pretended to be happy for you. It wasnât like youâd ever been rude enough to tell him what you really thought of Stacy.
âHeâs been around the block a few times. Just be careful, thatâs all.â Eddie stopped himself before he said the rest of what he was thinking.
He knew you had an idealized version of Dylan built up in your head and believed he could do no wrong, but Eddie could tell the guy was nothing but a player.
He would see Dylan around town from time to time, always with a different girl on his arm, and Eddie didnât want you to get hurt.
You werenât oblivious to the fact that Dylan had a few notches in his belt, and even though it made you a little nervous, you werenât going to let that detail ruin your date.
You had lusted after him for years and now that you finally had him in your grasp, you werenât going to waste the golden opportunity. You had big plans.
You had decided that you were going to go all the way with Dylan after your date. Soon all those times youâd fantasized about him while touching yourself under the sheets would finally become a reality.
âIâll be fine,â you sniffed, then pointed at Eddieâs beer. âHeâll be here soon, so you need to finish that and leave.â
Usually you wouldnât have been so curt, but you couldnât help but be irritated by Eddieâs presence. Heâd been ditching you for Stacy all week and the night you finally had plans with Dylan, he decided to show up and try to make you nervous?
You figured Stacy must have been busy and you were Eddieâs second choice once again, a thought that made you even more annoyed.
âWhereâs Stacy tonight?â you asked, voice light despite your irritation. She could have been lost in outer space for all you cared.
âI dunno.â He shrugged, and you raised a curious eyebrow at the vague response.
âYou donât know where your girlfriend is on Friday night?â
âNah, she broke up with me a couple days ago,â he delivered the news so nonchalantly that it took you a moment to register what heâd said.
âShe what?â You spun around, your mouth hanging open in surprise. âAnd youâre just mentioning this to me now?â
You were shocked. Stacy had been all over Eddie when youâd met up with them the week before. And he was acting so strangely casual, it almost sounded like he didnât care.
You eyed him suspiciously. âWhat did you do?â
He shrugged again and took a long sip of his beer. âItâs really not worth mentioning.â
You placed a hand on your hip in an attempt to give him your sternest frown, but to him it just looked like an adorable crinkle of your nose.
âTell me what you did, Eddie.â
He shook his head. âNah, itâs stupid. Can we talk about something else?â
âWhatâs stupid?â You narrowed your eyes, not letting him change the subject. Eddie might've hated talking about his love life, but you desperately wanted to know what happened and you werenât going down without a fight.
He rolled his eyes and lowered his gaze to look down at the floor. âFine. But then you have to promise youâll drop it.â
You nodded, and he took a deep breath before clearing his throat. âI mightâve said the wrong nameâŠone time,â he rushed to add, as if that somehow made it any better.
Your eyes grew wide. âThe wrong name? Do you mean, likeâŠin bed?â
When he gave a sheepish nod of his head, you almost let out a scream.
âOh my god, Eddie! Whose name did you say?â You plopped down next to him on the bed, knocking his leather-clad arm in disbelief at the unexpected juicy gossip.
âOuch.â He chuckled softly as he rubbed his arm, then looked back down at his beer. You could see his cheeks were starting to get a little pink. âItâs not important. Just forget it, ok?â
But he was crazy if he thought you were going to let it go.
âWas it Cindy?â You tapped your glossy bottom lip with your finger as you wracked your brain and tried to picture the girls you always saw flirting with him at the Hideout.
âOh wait, I bet it was Samantha!â
He let out an exasperated sigh. âCâmon, you promised youâd let it go. Doesnât matter, anyway. Itâs over and sheâs fucking pissed.â
You nodded, biting back a smile. Stacy had every right to be upset, but you couldnât find it in you to pretend to care. She had been horrible and you were glad she was finally out of the picture.
As promised, you dropped the subject and went back to primping in the mirror while Eddie finished the rest of his beer in silence. Then he said his goodbyes and crawled back out your window so you could finish getting ready.
But the whole time you waited for Dylan, you couldnât get Eddieâs confession off your mind. It was like it was impossible for you to focus on anything else.
Even though you were relieved that he and Stacy were finished, the thought of his mystery crush still nagged at you. He must have really liked them to make that kind of mistake.
At least you knew one thing for sure â if you were ever lucky enough to be in that position with Dylan, youâd never be thinking about anyone else.
Eddie knew it was wrong.
He wasnât under any false impression that what heâd done was forgivable. He knew there would be no hollow redemption waiting for him at the end of the line.
He was ashamed of his behavior â acting like some kind of perverted creep. But in his defense, it hadnât been entirely his fault.
It had all started a few months earlier on a crisp autumn evening in October; the time of year when the air in Hawkins is filled with the comforting scent of warm, earthy decay.
You and Eddie had plans that night to have a horror movie marathon at your place, a spooky tradition that he looked forward to every year. Cuddling with you on your bed and watching scary movies while smoking copious amounts of weed? In Eddieâs opinion, life didnât get much better than that.
But before he could meet up with you that night, he had a band practice that he couldnât miss. Corroded Coffin was playing in an upcoming Halloween show at the Hideout and the guys had some kinks they needed to work out in their set.
Eddie had promised heâd head over to your place as soon as practice was over, and assured you that he wouldnât be too late.
He hadnât anticipated that Gareth would end up with food poisoning and cancel practice at the very last minute. How could he ever have predicted something unexpected like that? It wasnât like heâd asked his friend to eat those stale week-old leftovers.
With nothing left to do, Eddie had decided to pick up the movies and head over to your place early. You had the night off work so he figured you would probably be home and happy with the surprise.
When he arrived at your house, he parked his van along the quiet tree-lined street like usual, then walked down the short gravel driveway until he reached your secluded back yard.
It was the same thing heâd been doing almost every night since you started hanging out back in high school. It wasnât his fault on that particular evening youâd forgotten to close your blinds.
As he approached your glowing window, dry leaves crunched beneath his feet while he juggled the movies and snacks so he could free up a hand to tap on the glass.
Before he could knock, he stepped back suddenly, startled by the sight of you entering your room wearing nothing but a fluffy towel that you had clutched around your chest.
Beads of water still glistened on your skin as you walked over to your desk to turn on your stereo. Soon after, he heard the faint synthetic beat of some shitty pop song start to drift through the glass, but your questionable taste in music wasnât what held his attention.
You walked over to your mirror and leaned in close, furrowing your brow at some invisible blemish.
No, no angel, heâd thought as he watched you frown at your reflection. Youâve got nothing to be unhappy about.
In that moment, he knew he should walk away but it was like he couldnât move; trapped like a deer in the headlights, he was frozen in place.
All noble thoughts of giving you privacy soon vacated his brain when he saw you straighten up, quickly dry yourself off then let the towel drop to the floor.
Eddie was no blushing prude and had seen his fair share of nudity over the years. He was a hot-blooded guy with a healthy sex drive and didnât see anything wrong with the growing collection of porn he kept under his bed.
Still, as he watched you through the window, heâd sworn that heâd never seen anything in his life that even came close to your absolute perfection. Nothing else in his twenty-something years could even compare.
His fingers dug into the plastic VHS cases when he saw you grab a bottle of lotion off your shelf and squirt a dollop in your hand. Then he held his breath as youâd proceeded to rub it all over your skin until every single part of you was slick and soft and glowing.
Once you were finished, you turned to open your dresser drawer and started rummaging through your clothes, leaving the soft curve of your ass on full display.
As his eyes drank in the sight, he thought about giving that supple skin a firm spank and watching the recoil of the flesh beneath his hand. Would you cry out? Would you beg him for more?
Heâd pictured lying back on your bed with those soft thighs framing his face, his fingers gripping them tight while you were riding it. Grinding on him. Fuck. He could almost taste it.
You took out a pair of panties and pulled them on in one fluid motion, running your fingers under the bands to lay them flat against your skin.
Strangely enough, he found the sight even more erotic than your prior nudity. Seeing that delicate baby pink lace wedged between the smooth cheeks of your ass made him weak in the knees. What he would have given to be that little strip of material.
Before that night heâd only been able to vaguely picture how you might look underneath your clothes, and he tried to memorize each and every inch of the glorious sight.
His cock was getting uncomfortably hard, so he reached down to adjust himself in his jeans. You must have noticed the slight movement outside because you turned your head in his direction, and a sudden icy panic gripped Eddieâs chest.
Thankfully it was dark out by then, a mercifully cloudy moonless night, and he backed up slowly praying to whatever god that might listen that you wouldnât see him.
Once he got far enough away, he turned and rushed to the safety of his van, quickly putting it in gear and speeding home in a daze.
He phoned you a little while later and told you he wasnât feeling well and wouldnât be able to make it to your movie night â which hadnât been a total lie. He was in a special kind of pain.
âThatâs ok, Eddie. I hope you feel better soon.â The disappointment in your voice made him feel awful.
And he was. Awful. He was disgusted with himself and he took that guilt out on his cock with vigor, fucking his fist to the memory of your naked form more times that night than he ever thought was possible.
Every time he came, he felt more and more ashamed, but never quite bad enough to make himself stop. And over the coming days he did it again and again.
And again.
It wasnât like heâd never thought about you before in a rare moment of weakness. You were his best friend and in a lot of ways you were just like one of the guys. At the same time, he couldnât ignore the fact that you were also a very pretty girl â one who sometimes made him feel a certain type of way.
Heâd always been able to push those thoughts aside in the interest of self-preservation, but after seeing you in your room that night his strategy no longer worked.
In the days and weeks that followed, his cock would get so fucking hard just from how good you smelled or the little, innocent touches you gave him in passing.
You had this way of distractedly playing with his hair that always sent shivers down his spine. He loved nothing more than getting high and lying with his head in your lap, the soft rake of your fingers through his curls sending little electric tingles cascading everywhere.
Sometimes when his hard-on got too obvious heâd excuse himself to the washroom and try to will it away with unsexy thoughts and cold water splashed on his face. He might have been horny, but he was still respectful enough to never take care of himself at your place.
That was always for later â on his back in his bedroom, sheets crumpled in a pile around his feet as he braced them on the mattress, lifting his hips to meet the slow thrusts of his hand.
Sometimes heâd edge himself like that for hours with teasing yet firm tugs on his cock, precum leaking over his thick fingers while he thought about you.
He imagined you so many different ways.
Down on your knees sucking his cock. Back arched on his bed, crying out his name while he pounded into your tight cunt from behind. Sitting on his face, grinding your pussy over his eager mouth and nose. Or riding him in his van while your perfect tits bounced in his face â the scenario didnât really matter. Thinking about you always got him there.
Fresh guilt would bloom in his chest every time you looked at him with trust and adoration. You had no clue about the disgusting habits of your supposed best friend. You didnât think of him that way. How could you? You were in love with someone else and that was never going to change.
He knew he needed to get over his fixation. Find something else to distract himself. Porn wasnât doing the trick anymore, so the next logical step was to try dating.
Eddie worked at the music shop downtown and Stacy would always come into the store, pretending to be interested in the collection of Fender guitars on display.
She was aggressive in her pursuit, straightening his work-mandated tie and fluttering her eyelashes while giving him a sultry grin. When she asked him to take her out, he shrugged and figured, what the hell?
The problem was, even when he was with her, Eddie would find himself thinking about you.
It had been a mistake when heâd said your name while they were fooling around in his van. It had just rolled off his tongue when sheâd unzipped his pants and wrapped her hand around his cock.
He hadnât even realized what heâd said until sheâd slapped him across the face, opened the back door and stormed off into the night, leaving him sitting there with his mouth hanging open and his dick out.
The worst part was that he didnât really care.
He was pretty sure you had bewitched him, mind, body and soul, because even after what happened with Stacy, he still couldnât stop.
And now you were about to go on a date with the actual guy of your dreams. The thought of you with Dylan was eating him up inside.
When Eddie got home from your place that night, he was restless as he paced the trailer floor. He tried to keep himself busy, but all he could about was you. About how you were probably out there with Dylan having the best night of your life, smiling at that vapid jerk while he put his big, dumb hands all over you.
Eddie could only hope that somehow your date would go horribly wrong and the disappointment would finally break Dylan's spell. That it would drive you into the comfort of your best friend's waiting arms.
Maybe then youâd finally see what was right in front of you.
At precisely eight oâclock Dylan pulled his sleek red sports car up outside your house, its spotless exterior gleaming in the warm glow of the setting sun.
When you opened your front door, you were nearly blinded by his famous megawatt smile as he handed you a single, long-stemmed rose. âYou look really nice.â
You felt your face heat up and you shyly lowered your eyes. âThanks. You donât look so bad yourself.â
After you put the rose in some water, he took you by the arm and led you outside to his car. He even ran around to open the passenger door for you and helped you inside like a true gentleman.
On the drive to the movie theater he talked about himself and his job quite a bit, and you kept giggling at everything he said until you wanted to kick yourself to make it stop.
When you walked into the theater, he reached out to grab your hand and your heart swelled with happiness and pride. You couldnât believe you were finally the lucky one on Dylanâs arm, and as you surveyed the other girls in the theater, you imagined they all wished they were you.
You were barely able to concentrate on the movie, and kept stealing glances at Dylan in the dark. At one point he took your hand in his, which eventually got a bit uncomfortable and made it next to impossible to eat your popcorn. Despite that, you held on tight and reminded yourself that it was what youâd always wanted. What was a temporary sweaty palm compared to lasting love?
On the ride home you were distracted as you watched the lights of Hawkins pass by your window, your mind a swirl of anxious thoughts as you anticipated what would happen next.
Sleeping with Dylan was something youâd waited for such a long time to experience, but you were still a bit nervous.
You reminded yourself that you were ready. Youâd worn your fancy underwear. Youâd bought the condoms. And thanks to the articles you knew exactly what to do. As an added bonus you had the entire house to yourself because your family was away for the weekend. It was going to be magical. A night youâd never forget.
When Dylan pulled up outside your place, he got out and walked you to your front door.
âI had a really great time,â you gushed, giving him your most seductive smile.
âMe too.â He gave you a cocky grin then leaned in close. Without hesitation you eagerly shut your eyes, awaiting the sensation of unfettered bliss. You couldnât believe the moment youâd been dreaming of for years had finally arrived.
Dylan pressed a chaste kiss to your lips, then quickly pulled away. When you opened your eyes and blinked in confusion, he gave you a playful wink.
âWell, Iâd better get going. Iâll see you soon.â Without another word, he turned and headed down your front steps and back to his car.
You stood there frozen in disbelief as you watched his taillights fade into the distance.
Dylan had been with so many girls, there was no way he was shy. In fact, you were pretty sure heâd slept with most of girls he took out, or at least that was the rumor around town.
Tears stung the corners of your eyes as you stepped inside and let the front door slam behind you. Unsure of what to do, you rushed downstairs to your room to call Eddie.
He answered the phone on the second ring, and you choked back a sob when he asked you what was wrong. You told him youâd explain everything when he got to your place, and also asked him to bring a little weed. You need to relax and get Dylanâs rejection off your mind.
When Eddie arrived a short while later and saw you through the basement window, sitting on your bed with tear-swollen eyes, he was engulfed in a blinding rage.
Once he got inside, he rushed over, his mouth held in a grim line. âDid he hurt you? What the hell did that asshole do?â
His normally soft eyes flashed with anger as he clenched his hands into fists at his sides. All he needed was one word from you and he was ready to rip Dylan apart.
âHe didnât do anything. Thatâs the problem,â you told him, your big eyes brimming with tears. âHe just gave me a peck on the lips and took off. He didnât even try to come in.â
Eddie could hardly believe his ears â Dylan had just left? He hadnât touched you? Relief washed over him an instant, uncoiling his muscles and cooling the fire in his veins.
You crossed your legs and his gaze trailed down to the soft press of your thighs against each other, before he looked back up at you with a satisfied grin on his face.
âSee, I told you he was a jerk. Now do you believe me?â
You sniffed. âBut he wasnât a jerk. It was going so well and thenâŠnothing. I donât understand what went wrong.â
Eddie knew he shouldnât tease you, but he couldnât resist a little good natured ribbing. It was just in his nature.
âI dunno. Maybe you had bad breath?â
His eyes twinkled with mischief as you scoffed in outrage at his joke. You grabbed a pillow off your bed and tossed it at his smirking face.
âYouâre so mean,â you pouted. His jovial mood was getting on your nerves. âCome on. Can you actually try to help me?â
He chuckled and flopped onto his back next to you on the bed and threw your old stuffed teddy in the air, then caught it. âWell, I dunno. Are you a bad kisser?â
You had kissed a few guys before, and none of them had ever complained â on the other hand, theyâd also never said that you were good.
âI donât know. Do you really think it could have been bad enough to make him leave?â
He shrugged. âI dunno, maybe. Like, I said, the guyâs a dick.â
âHow exactly does someone know if theyâre good at it, anyway?â you asked him, suddenly curious. âAre you?â
The bed dipped as you turned your body to face him.
âYeah, Iâm good. Heard it lots of times,â he bragged, and you raised a doubtful eyebrow.
âLots?â You grinned in amusement when he sat up in a huff.
âHey, Iâve kissed people. More than you, anyway,â he scoffed. âI just dated someone for almost a month, remember?â
You rolled your eyes. How could you forget? You tried to ignore the twinge in your chest when you thought of Eddie kissing Stacy, his lips all red and kiss swollen, their soft weight pressed against her skinâ
âWell, if youâre such an expert maybe you should show me, because obviously Iâm doing something wrong.â
The sarcastic words escaped before you could even think to stop them, and when you registered the surprise on Eddieâs face you quickly tried to recover.
âIâm just kidding, Eddie. You should see the look on yourââ
âNah, I mean. Itâs not a terrible idea,â he interrupted, stammering to rush out the words. âYou could try on me if you want and Iâll let you know if youâre doing something wrong.â
âEddie, stop teasing. Itâs not funny.â You frowned and crossed your arms in front of your chest. You werenât in the mood for whatever silly games he wanted to play.
âNo, now Iâm curious. I wanna know how bad you really are.â He chuckled to himself, and you shot him a withering look.
âIâm not bad,â you insisted, your cheeks burning with annoyance. Eddie was being a real prick and the room suddenly felt much too warm.
âThen prove it.â He smirked and bit the inside of his cheek as you eyed him with quiet suspicion. If he wanted to be mean and tease you, then you were going to call his bluff.
âFine. Get over here.â You patted the mattress and he shuffled over to sit next to you on the edge of bed.
When you looked up to meet his gaze you expected to see his joke revealed. Instead, his expression was serious and his dark brown eyes were blown wide as they held yours.
He ran the sharp tip of his tongue along his bottom lip and your eyes dipped to graze its ruby fullness.
âI mean, it could probably help us both,â he reasoned. âIâm sure I could use some tips.â
In the moment, Eddie told himself that he had good intentions. Youâd said it yourself that you hadnât kissed that many guys. It would probably be disappointing. Amateurish. An unsatisfying, sloppy mess that would disgust him and finally set him free.
âWhat do you want me to do?â you asked, trying to keep your voice as business-like as possible while your stomach tied itself in nervous knots.
You reminded yourself that Eddie liked to joke around and there was no way he actually intended to go through with it.
âUh, I donât knowâŠjust kiss me I guess?â He chuckled nervously as you shuffled a bit closer on the bed until your thighs were touching and you could feel the frizz of his curls against your shoulder.
âNo, you first.â You swallowed hard, determined not to let him win. Your cheeks were on fire, your eyes widened with a dare you knew he wouldnât meet.
He took a deep breath.
âOk, here goes.â His voice was so soft you barely registered the sound, but as he leaned in you felt his warm breath on your face, smelling of mint and a faint hint of tobacco.
Your eyes fluttered shut and a second later you felt his lips on yours, their feather-light touch igniting sparks low in your belly. You parted your mouth, letting his warm tongue gently tease your own, and his lips chased yours as you shifted position to tilt your head.
You rested a hand on his tensed thigh for balance and heard a moan rumble in his chest as the muscle flexed beneath your gentle touch.
He brought his hand up to cup your cheek, and a warm, tingly feeling started to spread down to your toes as he slotted his eager mouth against yours â the sensation so familiar and yet, like nothing youâd ever felt before.
A few seconds later he pulled back, his dark gaze dipping to your mouth. He dragged his thumb along the plump fullness of your lower lip, still tasting the lingering sweetness of your cherry lip gloss on his tongue.
You fought to catch your breath, your heart pounding so hard in your ears that you wondered if Eddie could hear it. You pressed your thighs together to try and dull the ache that suddenly throbbed between them, a subtle action that he didnât miss.
Kissing Eddie had felt like you were floating in a warm, dizzy haze; it had been like a dream you never wanted to end. Even though it had only been on a dare, those few short seconds hadnât been enough. You wanted him to kiss you again.
He lifted his eyes to meet yours, his voice smooth and low when he spoke.
âHmmâŠnot bad. But maybe we should give it another try? Just to make sure you get it right?â
You nodded and he crashed his mouth back into yours, his heart pounding a furious rhythm that would have challenged any thrash metal tune.
Heâd been wrong. Heâd been a fool. His mind reeled as if the room were spinning.
Turned out, his obsession with you was nowhere close to over.

âWhy didnât you say anything?â, the doctor growls in frustration as he leans against his desk in front of you and the guys with his arms folded.Â
âWe were afraid of getting removed from the experiment.â, Steve answered as your head continued to hang.Â
It had been a week since you saw Kallie in the other universe and the doctor had you three monitored on bed rest the entire time. You had nightmares of what happened, waking up screaming with either Eddie or Steve there to comfort you.Â
You were mentally exhausted and the one person you wanted to talk to was no longer available in your current universe.Â
âWhy would you think that? If anything, Iâm even more curious now.â, the doctor sighs. âYou said you three have never met each other until the start of this?â
âUm, Steve and I went to school together but we never really spoke or spent time together. He was an asshole.â
At Eddieâs words, the other manâs lips pursed as his jaw clenched knowing it was true.Â
âBut not you, Y/N? You donât know either of these men outside of here?â
âNo, she didnât.â, Steve answer for you when you didnât respond.Â
âHm. Iâd like to test something if youâre three up for it? Last week, the group went to a universe that frightened the bulk of our experimenters. In this particular universe, they mentioned the world being terrified over a couple of serial killers. Iâd like you three to try it and see where you land.â
âWhy?â, Eddie asks.Â
âBecauseâŠsome people mentioned broadcasts on the tv in the background whatever was happening while they were there. Suspects were two menâŠ
âI still donât understand why you want us to experience that if it was traumatizing for the others.â, Steve replied to the doctor.
âIf you three run into each other in every universeâŠselfishlyâŠIâm kind of curious how Y/N plays a part in a dynamic like that.â
âWell, fuck that. We arenât you living dolls that you can fuck around withââ
âTechnically Mr. Harrington, you are since you signed up for this experiment. Now, you donât have to do this. I was just suggesting as a scientistââ
âIâll do it.â, you interrupt causing all heads to turn your way. âWhen do we start?â
âUm, we can hook you up in 30min, if youâre sureââ
âIâm sure.â
And with that, you get up from your seat and exit the office.Â
***
âY/N, wait. Hang on, God damn it!â, Steve grunts in frustration as he runs after you and grabs your arm that you angrily pull away. âWhy are you so eager to do this?â
âBecause I want to feel something other than what Iâm feeling right now.â
âSo you want to feel like a victim?â At Eddieâs comment, you glare his way. âIf we are what he believes in this universe and we always run into you in every universe than weâre most likely going to be trying to kill you if we havenât already.â
âHm, I canât wait.â, you sass before the other boy tugs on your bicep. âJesus Christ! You are not my father or my fucking boyfriend. Boyfriendsssss.â, you growl as you shove them way from you. âI donât need you to take care of me or tell me what to fucking do. Now stay the hell away from me!â
âYouâre so fucking stubborn you know that!â, Steve shouts as he fully lets you go. âEven in this universe you tell us that you love us but then pull shit like this! Itâs fucking exhausting, Y/N!â
âGood! Then maybe youâll fucking listen to me this time and stay away!â

As the nurse guides you into this new room, you canât help but be a little intimidated at the new placement of the pods and machines in the middle of the room.Â
Three vessels were placed in a circle with all of your heads facing in the same direction with a camera dangling from the ceiling above. Unlike previously, it seems the doctor was pulling out all the extra stops to gather as much information as he could with what he had available.Â
With how they reacted before you were under the impression, you would be doing this session by yourself so when both men stomped in and sat in their respective places you were surprised.Â
âOk guys, everything is still the same. Four hours under and you canât interact, just observe.â, the doctor relayed as he glanced over you nervously. âWeâre monitoring your vitals so if it gets too intense and you react like last timeââ
âThis wonât be like last time.â, you interject before he nods at the nurses standing off to the side to take over.
âI love you, Y/N.â, Eddie mumbles as the three of you lay back in your pod. âIâm not sure if weâve said it back to you but I do. I donât know whatâs going to happen when we go under but no matter whatâŠin this universe, sweetheartâŠI love you.â
âI love you to.â, Steve adds. âYour rightâŠwe may not know much about you here but we do know that you are a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for. We may not be the best men butâŠâ
âWeâre the best men for you.â, the metalhead finishes when he pauses.
âYeahâŠâ
Before you can reply, the nurses split up between you three to place the goggles over your head and administer your calming agent.
âAlright, sweetie, here we go. Dropping in, in 3, 2, 1âŠâ
###############
âEverythingâs going to be alright, babe. Fuck our father.â
You smile as your thumb grazes over your phone as you reread the text your sister sent. Today was supposed to be a big day for you. You had worked so hard to get the promotion at your firm but with one phone call from your dad it was all taken away.Â
âWhisky. Neat.â
If it wasnât for the incredibly strong smell of cologne you probably wouldnât have even noticed the gorgeous man beside you as he absently dug into his suit pocket and threw some bills on the counter.Â
When his eyes met yours, he smiled wide as your own eyes nervously looked away.Â
âIf I may, maâam, you are extremely beautiful.â, he complimented making you blush as you ducked your head. âOh, come on, honey, I donât bite. Whatâs your name?â
âY/N.â, you mumble shyly as you extend your hand that he promptly takes into his own.Â
âWell, Y/N, itâs nice to meet you. May I ask why youâre sitting here all by yourself staring at a shot glass?â
âIâm waiting for my boyfriend.â
âHmâŠand your boyfriend lets you drink alone on Friday nights?â
âIâm notâŠnot drinkingâŠjustâŠâ Again, your gaze shifts and this time he follows it as he takes a seat beside you.Â
âJust what, Y/N?â, he asks softly but you detect a hint of annoyance.
âI had a bad day.â, you whisper. âMy boss, Angelique Dyerââ
âPfft, I know that bitch.â, the man sighs as he takes a sip of the drink he was given. âIâm sorry, baby, please continue.â
âShe skipped over me for a promotion and I worked so hard for it to. I worked so many late nights and did everything she asked.â
âButâŠâ
âShe did a background check on me and called my father. I, um, I was in jail a few years ago. Not for long butâŠâ
âFor?â
You sighed knowing the information would most likely scare him away; it always did with people you met. Your boyfriend was the only person to ever really see you as you and not judge you for your past.Â
âY/N.â, the man coos softly as his thumb caresses your hand that you didnât realize was still in his grasp. âYou can tell me anything. Itâs not my place to judge. I would know; Iâm a lawyer.â
While you giggle at his joke, with his free hand he reaches into his pocket and hands you his card.Â
Steven Harrington
âStevenâŠâ, you grin making him softly smile back.Â
âYou can call me Steve.â
Blinking up at his kind features, you exhale your nerves as you tell him the truth.Â
âI was arrested for public intoxication and assault. My sister and I were having a bit too much fun and she took away my keys so I wouldnât drive. Her boyfriend got mad saying she was âbabyingâ me and grabbed her arm soâŠI punched him.â
âSounds like a fucking asshole.â
âYeah⊠Anyway, I had been in trouble before and my father wanted to teach me a lesson soâŠâ, you shrug.Â
âHow did you get hired if that was on your record? I mean I would figure if itâs enough to not promote you than why bother right?â
âI, uh, I probably shouldnât tell you.â, you giggle as you reach for the shot glass and bring it to your lips.Â
Before you can taste anything however he places his large palm over the top and guides it away from your mouth.Â
âYou can tell me anything, pretty girl.â, he replies in a sultry voice that has you blushing again.
âMy boyfriend works for IT and heâs so smart with computers but people never take him seriously. He, um, did a thing that hid my record.â
âI see.â, Steve retorts as his lips form into a thin line as he grabs the shot from your fingers and chugs it back. âMy friend and I may be able to help you. He works at my firm with me doing research and stuff so heâs really good with technology himself. At most maybe we can help find you a loophole or something.â
Your eyebrows furrow as you finally gather your faculties enough to pull your hand from his grasp.Â
âWhy? Why would you want to help me?â
The lawyerâs head tilts to the side while his beautiful eyes glisten as they scan you over from head to toe.Â
âBecause nice, pretty girls like you deserve to be happy.â
Absorbing his words, your own irises take him in before fleeting to the tv above the bar behind him begging people to take extra caution while out especially at night. Another body had been found in the lake nearby in the same manner as the other victims believing it to be committed by the two serial killers at large.Â
As your eyes meet his again, you canât help but feel safe with this man you had just met.Â
âOk.â, you squeak eliciting an enormous grin to twitch across his face that would make the devil himself blush.Â
âGood. My car is out back here. I couldnât get a parking spot near the bar.â
After paying for your beverage, Steve takes your hand in his and you allow him to guide you down the street to a parking lot that seemed completely abandoned.Â
âSteve, you should be careful parking in a lot like this. Someone could hurt you and no one would know.â
âMy thoughts exactly.â
Before you could respond, arms roughly grabbed you from behind and covered your mouth as you were aggressively pulled into the backseat of his car.Â
***
Your wide eyes watched Steve as he casually sauntered past you as if you werenât even there.Â
His friend, who had just spent the last thirty minutes dragging you into their house and bound you to the chair you were currently in, kept his intense chocolate eyes zeroed in on you. A small smirk painted on his lips while he absently twirled the handle of a knife against the counter. You noticed immediately that his clothes and parts of his hands were stained red frightening you even more as you pulled at your restraints.Â
âHow did it go?â
âSmooth. She was shocked to say the least but definitely didnât see me cominâ.â, the long-haired man answered. âShe didnât scream or make any noise. Hopefully this one is different.â
The wink he tossed your way made you shutter but you didnât want them to think you were weak. You had fought so many people in your lifetime in every sense of the word and if tonight was your last night, you were going to go down swinging.
âWhere is she now?â
âTrunk. I thought maybe after we could go to the lake on the opposite side of town. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak.â
Steveâs amber eyes flicked your way before shifting to the floor and nodding as he slid off his suit jacket, throwing it aside.Â
âI genuinely am sorry for this, Y/N.â, he sighs as he walks towards you, bringing one of the table chairs with him, and placing it in front of you, crossing his legs as he rolls up his sleeves. âI know you had a bad day but you chose this.â
His friend behind him snickered when your eyebrows knitted together in confusion.Â
âYou were at that bar all alone even though thereâs a killer out there.â
âKillerSSSS.â
âDressed in that short skirt that shows off those beautiful legs practically begging to be touched.â, he sighed, licking his lips as he watched you squirm in your seat. âYou said you had a boyfriend yet you engaged in conversation AND left with me. Were you even going to tell him you were with me? Did he even know you were there?â
Gradually leaning forward, Steve removed the tape from your mouth and waited for an answer.Â
âYou said you were going to help me⊠I-I trusted you.â
Blinking, his lips pouted out as his jaw clenched before tilting his head towards the other man and gesturing towards you.
âI donât think Iâve introduced you to my friend here. This is Eddie.â
While being introduced, the metalhead casually stalks your way, giving you a small wave with his fingers before blindsiding you with a rough smack to your face.
âEvery time you donât answer one of my questions, Y/N, Eddie here is going to hurt you. Am I being clear? Say âYes, Sir.ââ
Taking too long for his liking, Steve curtly nods and the other man hits you again.Â
âYES, SIR!â
The knife Eddie had been fiddling with clinks through the air as it lightly taps the chair and the sharpness of the end grazes your cheek threateningly.Â
âThis will go a lot smoother for everyone if you get rid of the attitude, sweetheart. Or, if you prefer, we can end it all right here right now.â, he whispers menacingly into your ear sending goosebumps down your spine.Â
âYes, Sir.â, you respond again with less force, seemingly satisfying them both.Â
Steve leans forward, balancing his knees on his elbows while his friend smirks and positions himself behind you to play with your hair; the action oddly calming considering the circumstance.Â
âWere you going to tell your boyfriend where you were going?â
âN-No, Sir.â
âWhy?â
âHeâŠhe wouldnât like it. M-M-Meââ
âLeaving a bar with another man. Hm. Most men wouldnât.â
âIâm sorry.â, you murmur as your head hangs.Â
âAre you?â, Steve asks causing your head to snap back up so your eyes could glare at him. âEven though you know it was wrong, you still left with meâŠstill talked to meâŠstill let me hold your hand. The entire time youâve been tied to this chair, Iâve watched you rub your thighs together anytime me or my friend are near you. You like this donât you?â
After a rough tug of your hair, you answer.Â
âY-Yes, Sir.â
The lawyer smirks as he slides to the floor, his dark, gorgeous eyes locked on yours as his palms grip your knees and opens your legs wide to reveal your silky panties under your skirt.Â
âYou like being a bad girl, donât you, Y/N?â
This time, when you take too long to answer, Steveâs palm wraps around your throat and touches his nose to yours.Â
âDonât deny or try to hide it. I can fucking smell how wet you are. Answer my fucking question.â
You heard it in his tone; the desperation slipping out under the darkness. Now was your chance to try and get the upper hand.
âIs this what you need, Mr. Harrington? Is this how you get girls to submit? Fucking pathetic.â Youâre barely able to let out your sarcastic laugh before Eddie yanks on your hair again and holds the knife to your throat just above his friendâs hand.Â
âYou show us fucking respect, little girl.â
âRespect for what?! The fact that you canât get a woman in your house without taking her and tying her to a chair? Youâre weak!â
The annoyance in his eyes change to amused as he rises to his feet and pushes Eddie to the side as he takes the knife to free you from your binds.Â
âYouâre absolutely right, honey, and quite frankly, my friend and I DO enjoy the chase. Itâs been a while since a woman didnât just willingly succumb to my charms.â
âOk, calm down, Steven.â, Eddie teases as he grabs your bicep and aggressively lifts you from your chair, shoving you away from them.Â
âWeâll give you a thirty second head start. The front door behind us is locked and we arenât opening it. You could hide in the house and call for help but you donât have a phone and we donât have a landline so I donât see how much helpful that would be. Out back there past the forest is a couple of our neighbors but the closest one is about a three-mile walk so youâd have be quick.â
âA-Are you serious?â, you ask as you begin to slowly back away from them.Â
âIf you succeed in escaping, then I promise weâll leave you be. If we catch youâŠâ
âYouâre ours.â, the metalhead grins wide displaying all of his teeth. âBetter run fast.â
Tilting his watch, Steveâs eyes never leave the gold around his wrist.Â
âGo.â
Your terrified eyes flick between them trying to figure out if this is a trick but you barely have time to think as Eddie stomps his boot forward as if heâs about to give chase causing you to run out the back door past the pool and into the woods.Â
After exactly thirty seconds, Steve taps his friendâs shoulder causing him to sprint towards the direction they saw you disappear in while the man himself slowly followed behind.Â
***
You figured if you were going to survive this, the woods would be your best bet. An open space that you could run around should they stumble upon you as well as being able to hide behind a tree with the darkness of night to cloak you.Â
You half expected them to taunt you in some way, calling your name or mocking you. A part of you hoped for it so you knew exactly where they were. Every little sound caused you to jump and hide before realizing it was your own shoes.Â
âNot fast enough, princess.â, Eddie singed, suddenly appearing beside you and wrapping his strong arms around you.Â
âLet me go!â, you shout as try to elbow him in the stomach to no avail.Â
âDidnât get very far, did you?â, he growled as his grip never faltered. âWe could have done this inside but you wanted to do this the hard way.â
As he held you to him, your body folded into his and you could feel the large bulge in his jeans pressing against your ass.Â
âYou feel that, sweetheart? My cock is so hard just from hunting for you. I kept thinking about what we were going to do after we caught you.â With one arm firmly holding you in place, he utilized his other to lift your skirt and sloppily pull down your panties just enough to spank your behind before sliding his long, thick fingers into your pussy. âFuck, baby, you were thinking about it to, werenât you, dirty girl?â
You couldnât help the small moan that escaped your lips as he pumped his digits deep inside of you hitting that spongy spot inside of you no one else had reached.Â
âI told you, honey, you like this.â, Steve chuckled as he appeared out of the dark and sauntered towards you. âYou like being a bad girl and being used by us.â
âFuck, Steve, I canât wait any longer.â, Eddie whined as you listened to him fumble with his belt. âBend. I said fucking bend!â, he scolded as his palm pushed on your upper back, bending you in half. He wasnât gentle by any means as he guided himself inside you, bottoming out quickly and eliciting a loud gasp as he stretched you out.Â
âSay it.â, the lawyer commanded calmly as he watched your face contort in pleasure while his friend thrust his hips at a vigorous pace. âYou know what I want to hear.â
âIâŠIâm a bad girlâŠfuckâŠâ
Ring laced fingers took hold of your shirt, tearing it enough to expose your bra before Eddie moved it to grasp your breast and pull your hair with his other hand.Â
âAnd?â
âIâŠpleaseâŠâ
Folding over you, the long-haired manâs breath warmed your ear as he growled, âYou want to cum, you answer him.â
âI like being used by you!â, you rushed out verbally. âPlease, Sir. Pleeeeease.â
Panting against your shoulder, Eddie pumped and rolled his hips till you felt the ball drop in your belly. Hastily covering your mouth to muffle your screams, he chased his high till he grunted and pounded his release into your cunt.Â
âThatâs it, you little whore. You take my cum and say thank you.â
âT-ThankâŠThank youânah!â, you whimper as he pulls out and pushes you to the dirt.Â
Steve sinks to his knees and you immediately sit up but before you can adjust yourself, his stern eyes give you pause.
âCome here.â, he beckons. Doing as he commands, you place yourself in front of him looking up at him with those big, innocent eyes he loves. âTake my cock out.â
Without breaking eye contact, you reach forward and undo his belt, relishing in the slight increase of his breathing when your hand takes hold of his length to remove it from its confinement.Â
âThatâs it. Keep your eyes on me while you stroke it.â Utilize the beads of precum leaking from his slit, you ran your palm up and down as he licked his lips followed by a pleasure filled sigh. âTell me you want me.â, he whispered, almost sounding vulnerable as you felt your heart break.Â
âI want you.â, you murmur as your hand moves at a faster pace.Â
The look in his eyes shifted like it had before to that desperation that seemed more frightening than the darkness that had been on display. Placing his palms beside you, he walked you back till you were pressed against the dirt with him hovering over you.Â
âYou want me? Put my cock inside that tight little pussy.â Steveâs tone was now rough, no longer carrying the light but sinister charm he showed you before. âIâm tired of fucking repeating myself, little girl. If you want to make it through tonight you better fucking listen.â
To emphasis his point, Eddie balanced on his heels beside your head and ran the dull side of the blade along your chest.Â
The lawyerâs eye lids fluttered when you guided him inside you, your hips slightly rolling to take him as far as you could. Pinning your wrists above your head, he took over and delivered a hard thrust that punched the air from your lungs.Â
âAh!â, you moan, biting your lip when he does it again. âFuck.â
âYou love the way my dick feels, donât you?â
âMmmâYes, Sir.â
âYou love being fucked like this donât you, dirty girl?â
âNaâah! Yes!â, you whimper as he slams into you again, now finding a steady rhythm as his cock repeatedly and violently hits your g-spot.Â
âIâll send you back to your fucking boyfriend throbbing and sore. Shit. Fucking filled to the brim with our cum leaking out of you.â
One of Steveâs massive hands released you to squeeze your breast and as his open mouth hovered above yours you couldnât help but kiss them. Panting, his forehead fell against your neck as he held your lower back closer to him, thrusting into you deeply as he searched for your highs.Â
Yours hit you like a freight train as your back arched and like his friend he covered your mouth to muffle the loud scream that rippled through you. Collapsing on top of you, the man pumped his length into you with rough abandon till you felt his rhythm falter and he exhaled a strained grunt as he coated your walls with his release.Â
After a few moments, your giggle filled his ears and Steve pushed up on his elbows to look down at your smiling, blissed out features.Â
âWhat are you laughinâ at?â, he asks in a more lighthearted tone.Â
âYou.â, you beam as you poke his nose with your index.Â
âAre you ok, sweetheart?â, Eddie asks as his fingers pet your hair from his place above you as he looks down at you with concerned eyes.Â
âYeah, Iâm ok, baby.â
âGood.â, he grins as his friend gradually pulls out and rises to his feet while the metalhead helps you to yours. Taking in your demeanor, he gently pulls up your panties and places his jacket around your shoulders. âYou did really good, pretty girl.â
âHow far did I get?â
âUm, in thirty seconds? A few yards.â, Steve guess as he gestures towards the house where you can vaguely see the lights still illuminating from the windows. âTo be fair, I think with the adrenaline of the night and everything, Eddie practically flew after you soâŠâ
The three of you laugh as the long-haired boy lifts you into his arms and carries you the rest of the way to your shared home.Â
***
After a long bath and some good careful aftercare, you watch the men you love with smitten eyes even as they push your bossâs body off the boat and into the water below.Â
âDone and done. You said a lot of people saw her at the bar, right?â
âYeah, they did and definitely the bartender which speaking of.â Steve pauses as both men turn to face you. âWhy did you have a shot in front of you when I got there?â
Blinking, you shrug as you take a seat on the edge of the bow with Eddie sitting beside you as he wraps his arm around youÂ
âY/N, honey, you promised me the day I took on your case that you were never going to drink again and remain sober.â
âI know. I know, Steve. I swear I didnât drink anything either.â
âYou were about toââ
âToday was rough.â
âThatâs no excuseââ
âSteven, get off her back, yeah?â, the metalhead cut in before resting his chin on your shoulder. âI feel like this is partially my fault. I should have expected them to upgrade their system after I hacked in there the last time. Iâm sorry, baby.â
âNo, no.â, you reply as you turn to cup his cheeks. âNone of this is your fault. Either of yours⊠I appreciate you trying and doing all this for me.â, you gesture absently around you. âI know you both like to take your time when it comes to the people you kill.â
âYeah but this was for you, sweetheart. Everythingâs easy with you.â, Eddie murmurs as he kisses your cheek. âIf you wanted us to take care of your dad we would.â
âNoâŠplus that would be too risky. You guys could get caught or Kallie could get in trouble since she works for him.â Your gaze shifts from his to Steveâs whose eyes are scanning you over intensely. âI donât know what Iâd do if anything ever happened to you three.â
Kneeling in front of you, the lawyer takes your hands in his and kisses the back of them.Â
âNothingâs ever going to happen to us, honey, I promise.â
Tilting down, you take hold of his chin and kiss his lips before doing the same with Eddie.Â
âI want you. I want you so bad.â, the metalhead lightly sings making you and his friend laugh as the memory of the night you were first intimate with them while that song played in the background flashed through your head.Â
âI want you so bad, itâs driving me mad. Itâs driving meâŠâ, you sing back as your forehead presses to his, continuing to giggle as he pretends to play the guitar.Â
Extending his hand towards you, you take it and allow Steve to lead you inside the boat with Eddie close behind as you gasp at the table set with roses, candles, and your favorite meal.Â
âWe know that playing the way we do helps clear your mind after a bad day but we also wanted to show you how much we appreciate and love you like normal men do.â
âMr. Harrington, when have we ever been normal?â, you tease.
The three of you smile as Eddie lifts you off your feet, wrapping his arms around you to guide you to a chair so you could eat.
#####################
âThere we are, sweetie. Please donât run off.â, the nurse coos, slightly surprised when you do what she asks. âHow are you feeling?â
You donât know why but you suddenly feel the need to laugh.
Your cackle ripples through you and after a few seconds itâs followed by both boyâs deep chuckles as well.Â
âHuh. Fascinating.â, the doctor muses as he watches the display. âWhat happened?â
âCan we talk about it later?â
Without even waiting for an answer, you remove all the devices attached to you and head down the hallway to your room where both men trail after.Â
âYou protect meâŠin every universeâŠand that scares me butâŠâ, you pause as your eyes shift through the air searching for the right words. âI just realized that you both put so much faith in meâŠeven after everything you went through. Even in that universe I felt how that Steve needed to feel wanted because of everyone that abandoned him and how that Eddie desperately needed to feel in control especially with death because of the people you lost.
I think the reason you do that so willingly is because in every universe, you have each other. YouâŠhelp make my life betterâŠyou make me happy. Itâs been so long since Iâve been happyâŠeven before Kallie died.â
âWhat are you trying to say, sweetheart?â
Silently, you stride Eddieâs way, cupping his cheeks as you jump into his arms and passionately kiss his lips. His limbs circle tightly around you as he lifts you off your feet for a brief moment before placing you back down.Â
âIâm saying I want to try being more open with you two if youâll let me.â
The metalhead lets you go and Steve lifts you up again, wrapping your legs around his waist as he softly kisses you.Â
âOf course. We can take things slow, baby.â
You allow him to carry you to the bed behind you where both men lay on either side of you, tenderly kissing any part of your body they can reach as your arms and legs tangle together.Â
When you signed up for an experiment, the only question you asked was how much it paid. As you begin to take part you learn that you and a group of people are the first to ever be able to see into many different universes. You were told there was 0 chance of you running into others of the experiment...so why in every universe were seeing and falling for these 2 specific men?
Each chapter will be a different universe! I got this idea from the show Maniac on Netflix and I wanted to try different universes so†Chapters coming soon! Yall gave me some ideas. I'm down for more.
Nothing's Gonna Change My World (Steddie X You) (Documentarians/ Addict Universe)
A/N: Nothing new for me when it comes to writing about addiction but for some it may be heavy. Know that you are loved and you matter <3.
Warnings: Experimentees Steddie/ Fem Experimentees Y/N, In the alternative universe Documentarians Steddie and Alcohol addict Y/N, SMUT, dirty talk, voyeurism (if you squint I guess lol), etc. FLUFF, they care about her and she truly does care about them, she just struggles.
ANGST! *Twirls in angst with a banner that reads ANGST*
We find out what happened to the readers sister, drunk driving mentioned in this universe and the alternative, aftermath of that experience briefly mentioned in alternative universe, reader struggle with addiction in the alternate universe with mentions of withdrawals and how that affects her. In the alternative universe, Eddie mentions his father being an addict while Steve's mom is mentioned as being an alcoholic and the reason for his doc. Guys get into a fight.
Current Universe and alternative universe push back. All three hate the way they are in the alternative universe and it affects them in the current one.
This chapter is a bit heavy and I've had it on my mind for awhile. With the next few I want to explore more of the guys background and I think now the reader will be more open to that.

âI really donât want to talk about this.â
âThen why did you bring it up?â, the doctor countered as he smirked your way.
âI thought you wanted us to be honest or some shit?â
âI do but that doesnât mean you all are.â, he chuckles. âBut I can understand why you would be apprehensive. Intimacy like that is a very private thing.â
Your eyebrows raise sarcastically at his assessment as you readjust your body in the chair across from his desk.Â
âNot quite for me. Iâve gotten in trouble a few times for having sex out in the open. This was just⊠I donât know how to explain it⊠When I woke up I could still feel the desire but it was so intense.â
âThe person you were being intimate with, could you tell it was someone you loved?â
âI love you both so much. I should have something before but I was so scared.â
âYeah it was.â, you try and answer flatly as your words from the universe echo in your brain.Â
âHave you ever felt that way about someone here?â
Your head snaps in his direction.
âWhat do you mean by here? Like in the experiment?!â
âNo⊠no, no. I mean in this universe youâre currently in. Have you ever loved someone like the you in the other one?â Blinking you run through all your failed relationship and drunken hookups over the last few years before shaking your head. âI canât say anything with confidence but it seems like possibly the current you and the alternate yous are experiencing some conflicting emotions.â
âYeah especially since none of them are like me.â
âHow so?â
âThey just seem stronger, hopefulâŠsafe.â
âWhy do you think that is?â
âWe donât think little of you at all.â
âYou mean the world to us, honey.
âYouâre safe with us, sweetheart.â
Shrugging, you fold your arms over your chest as you shake their words from your head.Â
***
That night you toss and turn with no relief as you think about your past. Memories of your sister replay especially those last moments.
âY/N, I love you so much. Please, can you at least get sober for me? All I want is for you to be happy.â
âI am happy, Kallie! Jesus, get off my fucking backââ
Tears fill your eyes as the sound of screeching tires fill your ears and you hastily pull back the blankets as you step out into the hallway allowing your feet to lead you.Â
Quietly, you open Eddieâs bedroom door, shocked to find that heâs not alone.Â
While the long-haired boy was on his side with his back facing the wall, Steve was on his own back snoring softly with his arm behind his head.Â
Carefully climbing in between, them, you pull the covers over you three before grabbing Eddieâs arm and tugging it over your hip. Stirring slightly, he tugged you closer to his chest as his palm moved to rest between your cheek and the pillow.Â
âEverything alright?â, he whispers seamlessly as if he had known you for years.Â
âYeahâŠI was justâŠthinking about my sisterâŠandâŠâ
As your voice trembled and cracked at your last word, Eddie tenderly shushed you as he placed a gentle kiss on your shoulder.Â
âItâs ok, sweetheart. The nightmare is over and youâre safe.â
Turning your head slightly, you gently pressed your lips to his, reveling in the taste. Eddieâs eyes open as he becomes more alert and his thumb softly caresses your cheek. Your hips slowly grinded back into his as his palm slides down your chest to your tummy, gently rubbing the skin under your shirt.Â
After nodding your head signaling your approval, his long hair slapped his face as he turned his own to watch his hand disappear under the covers and the waistband of your pants.Â
âOh my God, youâre so wet.â, Eddie groaned as his fingers glided effortlessly between your folds.Â
Circling your arm behind you around his neck, you brought his mouth back to yours as he slowly massaged circles against your clit, mewling against your tongue as your ass pressed against him.
âFuck me, Eddie.â
In a sloppy haste, he yanked at your sweats and panties before reaching to pull down his causing the man beside him to stir. Steveâs beautiful eyes groggily opened as he took in the sight beside him and locked eyes with you as his friend ran the tip of his cock between your dripping pussy lips.
His gaze shifted toward Eddie who nodded and a little whimper escaped you as you watched the other man lower his pants slightly to allow his steadily hardening length to break free. The long-haired boy breached your entrance and the pleasant stretch had you both moaning as he began gradually thrusting his hips.Â
Licking his palm, Steve matched his pace, stroking his cock and biting his bottom lip to stifle the moan that wanted to be heard.Â
âShit, baby.â, Eddie whispered, placing his hand behind your head and turning you so he could kiss you again.Â
The schlick sound of the boy beside you had your pussy clenching around the man inside you and the metalhead couldnât help but close his eyes as he pressed his forehead against yours while he pumped his hips harder into yours.Â
âJ-Just like that, please. Iâm gonna cum.â
Your eyes rolled back as one of your hands covered the one Eddie had by your cheek while the other reached for the free palm Steve had beside him. Both men threaded their fingers through yours as your head fell back against the pillows and you came.Â
Eddie smothered his grunts in your neck as he quickly pulled out and rapidly stroked himself as his release hit the meat of your ass. Steveâs hips rutted up into his hand as he whimpered and his spend sputtered out onto thigh.
After a few minutes of heavy breathing, you listened to the pretty boy roll off the bed before returning and handing his friend a washcloth to clean yourselves with.Â
âHey.â, Steve murmured as he reached out to touch your face. âAre you ok?â
When you nod, he blinks praying that everything really was alright but as he began to roll over you grabbed his hand and cuddled it to your chest.Â
Both men watched as your eyes gradually closed and you snuggled closer to them.Â
âI love you.â, you whispered causing small smiles to flicker across their faces.
***
Neither man said a word as they ate their breakfast with you picking at your bowl occasionally staring outside window as the sun began to rise.Â
âWhy were you in his room last night?â
âCouldnât sleep.â, Steve answered casually as he took a bite of his food. âI, um, Iâve been doing it these past couple of nights. I sleep better Iâve noticed.â
âProbably because of the universes.â
Both boys exchange a look before Eddie agrees.
âProbably. Is that why you crawled into my bed?â
âI needed to feel safe and for some reason I only feel that with you two. I guess they are imprinting on us, you know? We need to shake it before we leave here.â
The pretty boyâs head tilts at your statement.Â
âWhy?â
âNo, why?â, Eddie asks again when you shrug.
âTrust me. You donât want to be friends with me.â
âYeah, we donât. We want to be more.â Your head snaps in their direction as the metalhead continues. âWe like you a lot, Y/N.â
âYou donât know me, Eddie, and I thought you two fucking hated each other.â
âWe talked it out and moved on. Thatâs what being an adult is.â
âJesus, you sound like my father.â
âWhat happened with Kallie?â, Steve abruptly asks causing you to glare his way. âBecause whatever happened is the reason you push us away and why you have such a low opinion of yourself. I want to know.â
âFuck you, Steven!â, you growl as you throw your bowl in his face giving everyone in the room pause.
âIs everything alright?â, the doctor asks as he comes to your table taking everything in.Â
âYeah, everythingâs fucking peachy.â, Steve grumbles as he wipes his face with a towel while Eddie sits beside him clenching his fists.Â
âOkâŠwellâŠitâs time to go to vessels. Clean up and head that way.â
Shifting your gaze towards them, your sour demeanor falters as you watch them angerly gather their empty dishes including yours.Â
âIâmâŠIâm sorry. I justââ
âYou think youâre the only one whoâs been through bullshit? Fuck you, honey. Maybe youâre right. We need to fucking shake this feeling off because I will not have another person in my life whoâs push and pull. You either love us or you fucking donât.â
Tears sting your eyes as you lag behind and place yourself in the pod that you were now beginning to hate.Â
âEverything ok, sweetie?â, the nurse asks, pursing her lips when you donât answer. âAlright, hereâs your calming agent. There we go. Just lay back and relax. Dropping in, in 3âŠ2âŠ1âŠâ
################
âFuck, fuck, fuck.â, you grumble as you dig through your cabinets manically, throwing things behind you that clang loudly on impact.Â
âWhatâs going on, Y/N?â, Steve asks softly from behind the kitchen counter.
When you agreed to be a part of his documentary, you didnât think you would be as open with them as you had been these last five months but after finding a flyer on a pole down the street with an offer to pay for your time, you thought what the hell.Â
You were strapped for cash and desperate for any funds you could get since your family had completely cut you off. Steve Harrington and his cameraman Eddie Munson were incredibly kind and not what you were expecting at all.
At the beginning of this project, you struggled with trying to hide your disease but the more they lent an open ear the more you spilled willingly.Â
âI, um, I canât find any more bottles ofâŠwellâŠanything and Iâm, um, Iâm crashing a-a bit.â, you stutter with a slight giggle hoping to make the situation not as intense as you felt it was.Â
âWhat happens if you donât get any alcohol?â
âI-I-I could get really sick and m-my hands will⊠My anxiety justâWHOOSHâthrough the fucking roof!â, you beam. âHey, letâs, um, letâs walk to the corner store and get a bottle of something good. Maybe get some snacks, yeah?â
The man smiles at you as you grin, placing his hand over the camera as you disappear into your bedroom.
âI feel kind of bad filming this, Ed.â
âI meanâŠitâs her life⊠This is what she struggles with every day and you said you wanted to capture that.â, Eddie sighs as he puts his equipment down to grab his jacket. âMy dad was the same way with his narcotics. She should honestly be thankful sheâs not in prison like him after what happened.â
Steve sighs as you bounce back into the room with tennis shoes and your heavy hoodie.Â
âIs it ok if we walk? Obviously, I donât have a car but I know itâs cold andââ
âWe donât mind walking, honey, unless youâre feeling sick or something.â
Again, you giggle as you lean forward to wrap your arms around him. It had been so long since someone had been so sweet to you. After the accident, your parents refused to return any of your calls and ignored you at every turn. Your extended family disowned you and due to the alcoholism you lost so many friends leaving you alone most of the time. Kallie said she would always be there for you butâŠ
âYou boys are too good to me. N-No, I think a walk will be good. YeahâŠit will be very good.â
They follow behind as you babble about your town and ask them a few questions hoping to distract yourself as you try to focus on their answers.Â
âS-S-So when this film is released, youâre going to be a big Hollywood director, huh, Steve?â
âOh, uh, most likely not butâŠâ, he chuckles before his friend pushes his arm.Â
âWith my camera skill and editing wizardry, we definitely will.â, Eddie grins. âI think itâd be cool to make more documentaries. My mom always enjoyed them.â
âShe would have been so proud of you, Ed-did-ee.âÂ
Both men exchange a nervous glance as your dialogue begins to truly falter. Last time they saw you like this, you were crashing so bad they called EMS who brought you to the ER.Â
You sighed happily when the gas station came into view as you practically ran forward and bounced to the back to grab a couple of cans of beer before waiting in line to pay.Â
âHey, Y/N. How are we doinâ today?â
âG-G-Good. Just thirsty.â, you giggle as your shaky hands drop change on the counter. Everyone shares a knowing glance as you count it out before Eddie quietly pulls his handheld camera out of his pocket and starts to film the exchange. âIsâŠis thisâŠI think this is enough.â
âUh, no, baby, itâs not. MaybeâŠmaybe you should get a bottle of water insteadââ
âI DONâT need water! I need a drink! Now how much more is it, Kevin?!â
â$10.â
You blink as you search your jeans for more change causing Steve to step forward before the other boy stops him.Â
âShitâŠuhâŠcome on, Kev. How about I take these now and pay you back next time. Iâm getting some cash fromââ
âI canât do that, Y/N, you know that.â
âFUCK! Fuck, fuck, fuck! Ok, ok, umââ
âHere, uh, for her and a pack of cigarettes for my friend.â, the boy offers before you suddenly grab his wrist.Â
âSt-St-Steve, I canâtâŠI canât let youââ
âItâs ok, honey. I need a cigarette to.â, he softly grins as he pays.
As you three walk back out, you pop open the top and chug back half the can before sighing in relief. Both men know this is just a band-aid. Youâll drink these two cans and buy the time the sun goes down youâll need more.
âI swear Iâll pay you back, Steve!â
âOh, no. You donât need toââ
âNo, no. I insist. You two are the only family I have now soâŠâ
***
âHarrington, you canât do that. You canât enable her.â, Eddie whispers as you sleep soundly on the couch.Â
âWhat was I supposed to do? Watch her spiral down till she ended up in the hospital?â
âYes. Weâre observers in this, man. Weâre observing and displaying.â
âI canât, man. She reminds me of my momâŠâ
âYeahâŠisnât that why you wanted to do this? To show people the pitfalls of alcoholism because of what you went through with your mom?â When the man didnât answer, the long-haired boy opened his camera causing his friend to groan. âNo, you want to be involved youâre involved. You said you wanted to show people what it was like because of your mom, yeah?â
âFuck you.â, Steve growled.Â
âThatâs why I signed up for this. My dad was addicted to painkillers and ruined my fucking life. My moms to since he stole her medication constantly! He was a selfish fucking asshole JUST like your mother.â
Steve charged at his friend, stirring you as you quickly assessed the situation before rising to your feet to pry them apart.Â
âWha? Whatâs going on? Stop it!â
âFuck you, Munson! My mom wasnât selfish! She loved me!â
âThen why didnât she put the fucking bottle down?!â
âItâŠitâs hardâŠâ, you answer for him making him grumble as Eddie reaches for his camera that had been knocked over and points it towards you.Â
âItâs hard?! Is it really that fucking hard especially after flipping a car?!â
Loud knocking on your door keeps you from answering as you angerly stalk that way.Â
âWHAT?!â
âOpen the fucking door, Y/N!â
Your jaw drops at the sound of the voice on the other end as you glance towards the boys who seem equally surprised. After slowly reaching for the knob, you open the door gradually revealing Kallie on the other side.
################
âWhatâs going on, Sash?â, the doctor asked as he powerwalked into the room after the alarm in his office began to screech.Â
âI donât know. This examinee seems to beâŠfighting? Itâs like her current brain is trying to force herself to wake up.â, the nurse answered as she utilizes a washcloth to wipe the sweat from your face.Â
âWeâre seeing little spikes to from two other examinees but not as bad.â
âFrom who?â
âUmâŠSteven Harrington and Edward Munson.â, the other nurse relays as she looks over her monitors.
âIs it serious? Should we pull them out?â, your nurse asks as she grips your arm.Â
âNo. They should be fine. Just give all three of them another shot of the calming formula and keep an eye on them especially Y/N.â
âYes, sir.â
###################
âI have been calling you for two days straight! Why donât you answer your fucking phone?!â
âIâŠI, Kallie, what are you doing here? I donât haveâŠa phone anymore.â
Her angry eyes soften for a moment as she scans you over before using the cane in her hand to hobble towards your couch.Â
âWho are these guys? Friends?â
âUm, yeah, kinda. They are making a documentary and have lived with me for the past few months. This is Eddie whoâs the technical guy with the camera. He-heâs really amazing Kallie. You should see the other stuff heâs filmed a-a-and this is Steve the, uh, director slash talent.â, you chuckle nervously as you point to each boy. âThis is my sister Kallie.â
âItâs nice to meet you.â
âYeah. Whatâs your documentary about?â
âPeople who deal with alcoholism.â, Steve answered cautiously as he takes a seat on the side between you both.Â
âHuh. Why donât you film this little interaction? I donât mind.â
âA-Are you sure?â
âWhatâs the matter, Y/N? Donât want people to see who you really are with family?â You glance their way and Eddie flashes you a soft smile as he sets up the camera to capture you both. âDo you need to ask me a question or something?â
âWhy are you here, Kallie? I havenât seen you in over a year. I-I missed you.â, you started before he could say anything.Â
Her beautiful, dark colored eyes shifted your way as she leaned back in her chair.Â
âYeah. I missed my sister to⊠the one I had before you started drinking.â She paused as she swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat. âI came here today because Iâm, um, Iâm getting married in a few monthsââ
âKallie, oh my god! Thatâs amazing, baby!â, you exclaim a bit too loudly as you try to control the urge to run and hug her. âWhat are they like? Are they good to you?â
âYeahâŠyeah, heâs good to me. He makes me laugh and heâs actually very sweet. I actually met him at Dadâs firm.â, she giggles before glancing your way to see your smile falter.
âH-Heâs in law?â
âHeâs a cop. He was there at the⊠Dad wanted to thank him for saving my life.â
Your bottom lip trembles as your eyes begin to flick around the room. Both men have seen this before when a rough topic comes up. Youâre looking for something to drink but youâre trying to control the urge.Â
âAre you alright, Y/N?â, Steve whispers.
âYeah. Yeah Iâm fine. Thatâs wonderful, Kal. IâmâŠIâm so happy for you.â
âI came today becauseâŠI want you to be thereâŠat my wedding.â
Your eyes widen as a knot pierces your heart.Â
âYou want me there?â
âOf course, Y/N. Y/N, I love you so much even after everything. I donât know if you realize that or not. I justâŠif you come you have to soberâŠâ
Eddieâs eyes close as his head hangs and you hear him sigh.
###############
âIs it Y/N again?â, the doctor asks.
âNo, itâs Mr. Munson and his heartrate increasing at a rapid rate.â, the nurse shouts as his monitorâs beep. Â
âFuck. Somethingâs not right.â
##############
âKallieâŠthank you but you know dad wonât let you invite me. Plus, everyone will be staring and it should be your dayââ
âFuck them, Y/N! You are my sister! I donât care what people fucking think!â
âOH YEAH!? Then where have you been?! I havenât seen you in a fucking year, Kal!â
âBecause Iâve been fucking recovering from a drunk driving accident!â, she shouts. âOr do you not fucking remember?â
âI-I-IâŠâ
âWasnât enough to get you to stop fucking drinking though was it?! The fact that you almost killed me! Now I can barely fucking walk!â, she shouts as she bangs her cane against the floor.
Steveâs fists clench into his knees as you glance towards him and see his eye lids flutter.Â
##############
âMr. Harrington just spiked!â
âWhat the fuck are they seeing there that itâs affecting them but no one else?â, the doctor muses.
âWhat do we do?!â
#################
âPlease⊠just go to rehab. Iâll be there with you every step of the way, Y/N.â
âKallie, IâŠI canât, ok. I really am happy for you though a-a-and Iâm so proud of you.â, you force a smile as you rise to your feet and push past everyone to scurry towards your kitchen to grab the second beer you left in the fridge.Â
âI put up with all your bullshit. I fought the family every time they said you were a fuck up. We went through everything together and what do I get in return? I deserved better! This is the most important day of my life, Y/N, and you canât do this one thing for me? You canât heal for me?â
Popping open the can, you sip some of the contents before shaking your head.Â
âIt was good seeing you, honey. I love you toâŠso muchâŠâ

âY/N, NO!â, Eddie screams as he sits upright and fumbles with the googles on his eyes.Â
âMr. Munson! We need you to breathe! There we go.â
âMr. Harrington, STOP!â, the nurse scolds as she grabs the boyâs bicep as he slumps out of his pod and slowly slides to the floor where nurses and security were trying to hold you down as you tried to fight them.Â
âLet me go! Kallie! I need to see her wedding! I need to tell her Iâm sorry! STOP!â, you screamed before all three of you were sedated and the world went black.Â
***
When you woke up a few hours later you werenât in your room but a different area of the building that felt more like a hospital than anything. Machines attached to you were steadily beeping as you glanced down at all the little sticky electrodes attached to your body.Â
âY/N.â
âMr. Munson!â, a nurse hisses before he raises his palms in surrender as he dodges her fast hands that try to grab him.Â
âI just want to check on my friend. Iâm not going anywhere.â He waits for her to nod and hastily scurries to your bed as he sits on the end facing you. âI am so sorry. I never would judge you or talk to youâŠeither of you the way I did in that universe. Iâm not ashamed of you or anything, sweetheart, I swear.â
âMe either, honey.â, Steve whispers as he comes up to your sides. âFuck, I hate that the other men didnât stop her from screaming at you. I just wanted to jump in front of you and protect you.â
Blinking, a sense of numbness overcame you until you finally looked their way again.Â
âMy parents are assholes like yours, Steve. They are so fucking self-righteous when it comes to their place in society. Kind of like your dad, Eddie, ours would scream at us and tell us how much better we needed to be. My sister and I ignored him though. We used to sneak out and do crazy shit all the time.â, you laugh at the memory. âI genuinely didnât notice the drinking became a problem until I lost my first job. I had been out the night before with some guy and passed outâŠâ
âAs I steadily got worse, Kallie seemed to excel. She graduated college, started working at the law firm that was the complete opposite of what my parents did. I got arrested a couple of times and thrown out of my apartment for being a nuisance. I just wanted to have fun.â
As your voice begins to shake, Eddie reaches out to grab your hand and you allow it.Â
âOne night, I picked her up from her house so we could have dinner with my family. I had already pre-gamed, preparing to deal with their bullshit but I swore I was still sober enough. She brought up me getting sober and I didnât want to hear it; couldnât hear it. Kallie said she loved me and she just wanted me to be happy. I turned to yell at her, missing the red light andâŠâ
âBabyâŠI am so sorry.â, Steve cooed as he pushed some of your hair behind your ear.
âYou donât know me and trust me you donât want to know me. Even after what I did, I didnât stop. Iâve tried, Lord knows I have and thankfully Iâm not as bad as the other universe butâŠI have no one and I learned thatâs better for everyone anyway if they just stay away from me.â
âSweetheart, thatâs not true. YouâŠyou canât do this by yourself. We can help you. Trust me, beautiful girl, Kallie would not have wanted you to be alone.âÂ
At Eddieâs words, you collapse forward into his chest and begin to sob. Holding you tightly, he pets your head as Steve tilts towards you to hug you both.Â
Nothing's Gonna Change My World (Steddie X You) (Regency Era Universe)
AN: This is my first time writing for an era like this so bare with me. I think I could have done better with the details but alas! Please enjoy :)

At the end, she talks a bit more about her sister who has died. In the alternative universe, Steve's father is a dick who feels like he isn't measuring up. Calls Eddie and Y/N names (bastard & whore). Reader has a run in with someone who physically hurts her (no elaborate; just the after math), guys defend her.

âYou were definitely one of the lucky ones.â, the doctor exhales as he continues to make notes without looking your way. âA lot of the participants were either injured or experienced something theyâd rather forget.â
Remaining silent, you press your lips together as you nod just wanting this to be over so you can go have a cigarette (and check on Eddie).
âWas there anything that stood out? People you knew or anything like that?â
âUh, no. A group kidnapped me and wanted to use me for leverage. I was rescued and then went back to a compound where I was talking with people till I woke up. I did have memories of my sister still dying. Obviously not in the same way.â
âHuh.â, the doctor hummed as he made notes.Â
âWhat?â
âItâs just interesting to have two participants experience a kidnapping. Another participant said he saved someone from being taken. Did you see Mr. Steve Harrington there?â
âNo, I didnât.â, you growled, annoyed at the manâs stupidity.Â
âOk. Itâs not that outlandish in an environment like that so Iâm not too concerned about it.â
âIf we had seen each other would it be? Something to be concerned about I mean.â
âHmmm⊠not really. It would be interesting to dissect, metaphorically of course. To meet someone youâve only met through this avenue in an alternate reality, I mean, that would be so fascinating.â
âWhat if you saw them in more than one?â
The doctor chuckles as he leans back in his seat.Â
âTheoretically thatâs impossible but, if weâre speaking in theory, to meet the same someone in all different universes including this one? That sounds more metaphysicalâŠlike fate.â
âIf thatâs trueâŠthen it implies my sister was meant to dieâŠno matter what universe we both lived in.â
Your voice comes out barely above a whisper causing the doctor to scan you over as he says your name but you promptly ignore him, rising to your feet as you power walk out of the room.Â
While walking down the hallway, you hear people still sniffling as they continue to regale people with stories of the other universe and how terrified they were about moving forward. You were so focused on the sounds of sobs; you didnât even notice you passed by Steve who leaned out of his bedroom when he noticed you walk by and followed quietly behind you.Â
Eddieâs door was open but when you poked your head inside you realized he was asleep and still looked incredibly pained. As you tiptoed to his bedside, you noticed a little bruise starting to form where the nurse must have given him a shot to help calm him so he could rest. The other boy watches you with amusement as your sad eyes take in the man in front of you before you turn to the wall behind you, tapping your fingers gently against the light illuminated panel, and waiting for only a moment before a small door opens providing you with whatever it is you had purchased.Â
Sitting beside him, you carefully opened the tube you bought, squirting a bit of gel on your palm and rubbing it along his purple wound.
âWhatâs that?â, Steve murmurs as your eyes flick his way. âThat youâre putting on him.â
âHealing gel for bruises.â, you respond while tossing him the bottle so he can see. âThat brand is good at soothing swelling and aches. Definitely needed some of it a time or two.â
When you giggle, he canât help but smile at the sight.
âMay I ask why? Why youâre doing that for him? You justâŠyou seem a bit guarded.â, he clarified when you flashed him an annoyed look.Â
âYeahâŠComes from years of bullshit. PlusâŠhe was right. Iâm terrified to let people in because something always happens. My sister was always there for me through the bad stuff but when I lost her⊠I just thought it was best to keep people at bay.â
âI can understand that.â, he nods, smirking when your quark your eyebrow his way. âJust because Iâm an asshole doesnât mean I donât have feelings.â, Steve laughs. âIâm, um, sorry if Iâve come on to strong with my personality or been rude⊠Itâs just my defense, you know?â
âI can understand that.â, you recite back making both your smiles grow. âI should go back to my room.â
Even as you say your words, your body doesnât move. You know you should leave but something in your gut keeps tugging you towards the sleeping in man in front of you. He was in so much emotional pain and all you wanted to do was make it go away for him.Â
Sighing, you curl up behind Eddieâs back, pressing your face into his shoulder as you wrap your arms around his waist.
***
When the long-haired boy woke up the following morning, he was completely confused when he felt a weight against his body until lifting the blanket and seeing a hand resting lazily against his stomach.Â
As carefully as he could, he rolled over coming face to face with your sleeping frame. He should have been confused or annoyed even that you just crawled into his bed but for reasons he couldnât explain he felt like this was completely normal. Like he had spent the last few years waking up to you already.Â
Eddie wondered if maybe the experiment was leaving imprints him as the memories stayed. In the first universe, he hadnât met you yet but he felt incredibly comfortable with you as that version of himself had already begun hoping for a long future with you by their side. In the second, he and Steve had been with you for a while and even now he could picture some of that Eddieâs memories as if they were his own.Â
Memories of meeting you and being skeptical as his friend insisted on bringing you back home. Taking you out to the field near the high school to practice shooting with you and allowing you to try his sniper rifle which he had conveyed to never let anyone before you do. The immediate fear he felt when you didnât come back and the anger that followed when he found out someone took you.Â
As he reached out to caress your cheek, those protective feelings inside him increased and he wanted nothing more than to keep you safe.Â
The current reality came rushing back as his eyes glanced at the discounted jewelry on his fingers. He was lower class and would always be labeled that way. Whatever class you were didnât matter because even he knew he was at the bottom of the society rung.
After crawling over you out of bed, he quietly covered you back up and headed to the bathroom to get ready for breakfast.Â
***
âHeâs not eating with you?â, you ask as you take a seat in front of Steve and glance towards Eddie who was nibbling on his lunch by the wall.
âUh, no, not today and I kind of understand why. If I saw what he did I would want to keep to myself to.â
âIsâŠare your parentsâŠhow they are in the other realities?â
The man pauses for a moment before his eyes flick up to meet yours.Â
âYeah, they are especially my father. Iâve been conditioned to take over his company since birth.â
âConditioned?â
âYup. Luckily my dad got a boy on his first try with my mom soâŠyay me.â, he sasses making you smirk as you exhale at the heaviness behind his words. âWhat about you? What are your parents like?â
âMy parents and I havenât spoken in a while. I, um, after my sister diedâŠit was like the glue that held us together melted.â
âIâm assuming theyâre assholes then?â
âWhat are we talking about so intensely?â, Eddie asks as he throws his body down next to Steve and continues to eat.Â
âParents.â
âOh thatâs a fun topic.â
âY/N was about to tell me more about hers.â
They both stare at you with wide, focused eyes as they wait for you to go on and on impulse you cross your arms as your wall begins to go up.Â
âUh, yeah, you can say they are assholes. My father is a judge and my mom is a lawyer. Like you said, my great grandfather has the school named after him because he did a lot within congress. Careers of that degree kind of run in the family so IâmâŠnoted as the failureâŠâ
âYouâre not a failure.â, Steve tries to comfort as your eyes become glassy before you hastily blink any tears away.Â
âI also donât believe in my families class system so thatâs a point against me.â
âNot really anything you can do about it though, right sweetheart?â, Eddie sighs. âThe Harringtonâs basically swear by it.â
The other man exhales as his head hangs.
âI was raised to believe that the higher classâŠwere superiorâŠâ
âYeah. To push low level people like me and my uncle aside. Part of the reason our school allowed people like me in was to add to the arrogance of the upper class so they could push us around.â
âI never hurt you, Eddie.â
âPhysically, no.âÂ
At that, Steveâs head jerks towards the boy beside him as anger and shame fills his heart.Â
âIâm sorry, Munson.â
As you watch their exchange, you canât help but feel the pain as well from your seat across from them. This is why you and Kallie hated the class system. From the videos you saw, your great grandfather touted it as a way of motivation and peace.Â
âSo the higher classes feel safer and the lower classes can aspire for greater.â
All it did was cause pain and no one did anything to counter or abolish it. It was so engrained in society that it was just common at this point but no one in the upper class did anything that made them better people. They continually belittled anyone beneath them and made sure to remind them there was no point in âaspiring for greatnessâ because this is where they belonged; under them.
Maybe Kallie could have made a differenceâŠ
âItâs okââ
âItâs not. IâdâŠlike to start overâŠmaybe. If we can.â Steveâs hand hovers in the air as Eddieâs beautiful eyes take in the gesture with a glimmer of hope reflected behind them.Â
âAlright, Harrington.â, the man smirks as he smacks his palm into his and shakes it making you grin their way.
***
The following morning, Steve woke up in chair inside Eddieâs room with you both asleep in the long-haired boyâs bed and him sitting up against the wall while his palm rested on your bicep as your head slept comforting on his lap.Â
You three had spent the evening together getting little tidbits about each other and just getting to know the other more.Â
As you spoke, he couldnât help but study you as your lips moved and your eyes focused as you listened to one of them speak. It was in his nature as an upper-class businessmanâs son. He was taught from an early age to read body language and listen to inflections in words which he always found amusing because his father did none of that.Â
Bill Harrington did everything with selfish motivation and if someone questioned him or seemed to be disloyal, he attacked whether the person was indeed being nefarious or not.Â
In school growing up, Steve was the same but a bit more calculated. He punished people for being weak and quite frankly never even noticed they were always the lower-class student. He should have been more observant and empathetic. He just wanted to belong.Â
Lord knows his parents never made him feel wanted.Â
Steve couldnât help but wonder how he would have treated you had you grown up together. He would like to think he would have been kind but the fact that he wasnât sure broke his heart. Maybe you would have made him want to be a better man.Â
He felt that in the last universe he was in; that strong need to be better. The memories that still lingered had him wanting to continue that philosophy. He desperately wanted to make the world better for you and Eddie but the current version of himself was struggling.
He didnât know how to begin and definitely didnât want to cross a line.Â
Truth of the matter wasâŠhe was scaredâŠ
***
âWhat do you think? Three for three?â, Eddie jokes as you guys head towards the pods for you next session.Â
âIâm not sure. It does comfort me thoughâŠto know you both might be there. I aways get nervous before hand at what we might see.â
âYeah. We understand the feeling.â, Steve sighs under his breath before giving you both a soft smile as you all separate to go to your areas.
âAlright Miss Y/L/N, hereâs your shotâŠgood. And I must insist that when you wake up, please remain in the vessel so we can do our jobs.â
âNo promises.â
The nurse narrows her eyes at you as the door slowly slides closed.Â
âDropping down in 3âŠ2âŠ1âŠâ
#########################
âI will not tolerate this insolence anymore!â, the man screams on the other side of the door causing you and Edwardâs eyes to lock from your places as you continue to listen in.Â
You had known Eddie and Steve since you all were children and it was killing you to hear the latter manâs father scream at him in such a manner.Â
Steven did everything he could to appease his parents including taking a woman he deemed boring to a dinner date in an environment he detested. He went with his dad on business ventures overseas to learn more about a company he did not want to inherit, sending you both long winded letters about how drab the whole affair was and how his father belittled him the entire ship ride back home.Â
All he wanted to do was spend time with his two best friends like he had always done.Â
âYou need to get your act together, son. I wonât be here forever to keep you afloat. You canât make a living running around with the bastard Munson and that whore Y/L/N.â
Your hand reached out to take the boys beside you as he flashed you a small smile and delicately kissed the back of it.Â
âDonât call her that.â, Steven growled. âThey are my friends.â
âPfft. Then explain to me why sheâs been seen with every Duke and Lord in the county?!â
âHer father wants her to settle down and marryââ
âShe needs to! Sheâs way past her prime!â
Eddie snickers as you lift your eyebrows as if to silently agree with your friendâs father.
âAND Edward is a respectable gentlemanââ
âWhose father ISNâT in the prison for thieving jewelry from castles like ours?â
âThat doesnât make him a bastard.â, Steve whispered under his breath causing his father to stomp forward and hit his son hard in the cheek.Â
âItâs too bad you donât have this kind of fight in you when it comes to a work ethic.â
âMaybe itâs because Iâm fighting for something I care about.â, his son spits back before turning and powerwalking out the door running into you both as you lean nonchalantly against the opposite wall. âOh, thatâs inconspicuous.â
You giggle as you run to keep up with him as he continues walking down the hall, your olive-green gown flowing behind you as you do.Â
âAre you alright?â
âIâll survive.â, he replies a bit curtly before pausing at a set of double doors and grabbing your bicep. âWhy donât we skip this affair and spend some time in the library.â
âSteve.â, you smile as you reach up to move some of his loose hair away from his face. âWe all got dressed up to come to your fatherâs idiotic dance. The least we could do is make an appearance.â
âI think she just wants to impress William.â, Eddie teases making you blush as you reach forward and lightly punch his arm making little to no impact against his black suit jacket he looked incredibly handsome in.Â
âLook, your father may be a rude but heâs right.â, you shrug. âIf I donât get married soonââ
Steveâs soft palm extended towards you to cup your face as his thumb slid across your lips to silence you. Touches like this were not abnormal and even you had flirted with the idea of taking your friendship further but shame overtook you when you realized you cared about both men.Â
You could care less about your parentâs approval or how society would view you. They did that already with the many men who tried to court you but you did care about them. Eddie was already demeaned for being ânew moneyâ since his family didnât come from wealth. Add in the fact that he rarely behaved or dressed in a manner they found suitable but all that mattered to you was his kind demeanor and how he always made you smile.Â
Steve was constantly judged by high society because he struggled to follow the âproper etiquetteâ of someone in his status. He just wanted to live his life the way he wanted and you encouraged that. He was incredibly smart and protective which is something you enjoyed on late nights when he would sneak into your room and you two would lay together talking about the future.Â
A relationship with one of them let alone two would bring undo trouble their way and you loved them too much to allow that.Â
âFuck my father, honey. All that matters is that youâre happy.â
Grinning, you loop your arm through his and gesture towards Edward so you can do the same with him.Â
âAs long as Iâm with my two best friends, Iâm happy.â
***
âWhat do you think? Has she finally found the one?â, Eddie asks as he passes his friend the bottle of scotch they stole from one of his fatherâs many offices.Â
âPleaseâŠWilliam Hargrove isnât the kind to settle down butâŠwho knows. Sheâs an amazing woman.â
âYeah she is.â
This was one of Steveâs favorite spots in his large family estate, the garden out back. Since he met you two, he would bring you out by the fountain where you would play games and make him laugh. As you three grew, it because a place to gossip and talk about anything that came to mind. You had made a plan to meet here within one hourâs time so the gentleman could be seen before disappearing but you were late which was making your long-haired friend nervous.Â
âYou donât think something happened right?â
âIâm not sure but if itâs something good I know sheâd kill us for interrupting.â As Steve chuckles, Eddie canât help but force a smile before letting out a long-winded sigh. âI knowâŠâ
âMaybe we should finally tell her how we feelâŠsay somethingâŠâ
âSay what?â, you asked with a happy sounding high pitched tone appearing in front of them.
âWhat took you so long? Talking with William?â
âOh, yes, I was but he is just so intellectually draining.â, you tease, mimicking your voice to sound like Steveâs parents.Â
âYour hair is pulled back differently. Some of the strands are loose.â, Eddie notices as he rises to his feet but at the action however you take a step backward. âWhere did you get that shawl?â
âOh, um, I stole it from Lady Bradberry. Thatâs what she gets for always calling me a harlot.â
As you chuckle, your eyes become glassy as your voice cracks. Both boys take a step forward and once again you back away.Â
âLetâs, uh, letâs get out of here. We can go to my estateââ
âLet us see, Y/N.â
This time when Steve extends his hand out you donât pull away, allowing him to slowly pull down the garment covering your shoulder exposing the slowly forming bruise.
âNo, no.â, you scold as you watch their eyes cloud over in anger. âI took care of it, alright? William wonât be a concern anymore. Edward! Steven! No!â, you hiss as you try to pull on their arms to stop them as they begin stomping towards the castle. âNo! I wonât let you ruin your reputations over me.â
Abruptly, Eddie turns around and cups your face in his palms as his lips passionately press to yours. You had tasted him before on many a lonely night but this felt different in the best possible way.Â
âYou donât seem to understand, my lady. YouâŠmean more to us than any reputationâŠâ
This time you allow them to continue forward, following close behind as they reenter Steveâs home and make a beeline for the study where you had last been. To your surprise, William wasnât far but to his surprise you werenât back to reconsider his offer of becoming his mistress.Â
Steveâs fist flew before any words were exchanged and your breath caught in your throat as you watched the men you cared for defend your honor.Â
âSteven!â, his father shouted as he tried to pull his son off the unlucky man now bleeding on the floor. Friends of the Harringtons and Hargroves ran in to separate everyone but while everyone crowded around the man who had physically hurt you, your best friends backed away to make sure they were front of you, shielding you from everyone.Â
âWhat is wrong with you, you imbecile!â, Mr. Harrington scolded as he pointed his finger towards Steve. âWilliam is set to be married next month to Lady Cunningham. Everyone will be talking about this.â, he gestures towards the manâs bleeding face.Â
âThat filth put his hands on the woman I love.â
Your hopeful eyes widen at his words and to your relief Eddie doesnât flitch or hiss at his friend.Â
They both care about you to.Â
Reaching out, your fingers cling to their formal jackets causing both men to stand up straighter.Â
âIâm DONE with all this nonsense! You are no longer allowed to be friends with those two. End it now.â
âNo.â
âEXCUSE ME!?â
âHe said no.â, Eddie defended. âY/N and I have known your son since we were children and thankfully heâs nothing you or that scum.â, he growls as he gestures towards William.Â
âGet out of my home!â
âWith pleasure.â
At Steveâs final words, they both grab your hands and power walk out the double doors into the garden.Â
***
Your eyes follow them as they maneuver around the Munson bedroom; Steve roughly hurling off his jacket and Eddie doing the same before gathering some supplies in his lavatory.Â
You three had spent many an intimate night here. The first time either of them kissed or touched you was on this floor or in the big comfy bed. You all made a vow that this would never be anything more but never elaborated on why. You knew your reasons butâŠ
âWhy didnât you say anything before? About how you feel?â
Edward smirk salaciously as he kneeled in front of you and placed a cool rag with ice against your now prominent, purple bruise.
âWhy didnât you?â
âBecause of this.â, you gesture towards your other friend who was now facing you both with his hands on his hips. âBecause I didnât want to be the reason you both lost everything.â
âSweetheartâŠâ, Eddie cooed in a soothing tone. âYou ARE everything.â
Smiling, you run your fingers through his hair as your lips tenderly kiss his till you feel a dip in the mattress beside you.Â
âYouâre not aâŠharlot or a whoreâŠâ, Steve conveys, wincing at the negative as if heâs disgusted to even say them. âI remember when we were children, your mother would let me sleep over when my father would scream at me and my own mother. You and Kallie always made me smile.â
As he turns to face you, the other man continues to kiss your neck as he reaches behind your back to unlace your gown.Â
âI canât picture my life with you, Y/N. Iâd give up everything, my name, status, and reputation⊠just to have you here with us.â
Your palm caresses his cheek and in return he tilts down to bring his lips to yours. Soft kisses turn heated as they undress you and then themselves.Â
âWe can go anywhere we want to.â, Eddie breathes into your ear as you lay on your back between them. âWe can take one of the Harringtonâs many, MANY ships and run to someplace new.â
They smile when you giggle as their palms roam your soft skin.Â
âMaybe we can build our own estate where we can be together and happy.â, Steve added as his hand slid between your legs.
âWe can grow our own supplies and I can play my music.âÂ
As the other man speaks his fingers spread open your pussy lips making you moan as he begins to rub circles against your clit. His friend joins him as he guides two of his own into your dripping hole.Â
âOhâŠmyâŠâ
âI can become a businessman and own a shop in town. Maybe you can come work with me and sell things at the counter with that gorgeous smile. Fuck, I love seeing you smile.â
âWouldâŠwould we have anyâŠchildren?â, you ask as you feel that knot steadily building in your tummy.Â
âOf course, sweetheart. Weâd have so many weâd have to build more rooms in our home till itâs as big as a Harrington Castle!â
You and Steve chuckle at your friendâs exclamation; yours more of a pant as both their rhythm hastens.Â
âI love you bothâŠso muchâŠI-I should have said somethingâmmmâbefore butâŠI was scared.â
âWe know, honey. We know.â
âJust like that. Fuck, Iâm coming.â
Both sets of lips attached to your throat as your body trembled and you came undone.Â
âListen to you trying not to scream.â, Steve teased. âYou can here, beautiful.â
You giggle as the other man flips you on to your side and pulls your back to his chest. While kissing your cheek, he lifts your leg in the air and you both groan as he guides his cock into your entrance.Â
âOh god, Y/N.â
âFuck, Eddie. So big.â
His mouth falls open as his humid breath warms your face and his large palm cups one of your breasts. When your hand covers his, you realize his knuckles still have remnants of dry blood.Â
âThank youâmmmâfor protecting me.â
âOf course. Fuckâfuck that self-righteous son of a bitch.â
âYouâre safe with us, honey.â, Steve smiled softly as he leaned forward to capture your lips.Â
âAlways have been. God, you feel so good. Say my name, sweetheart. T-Tell me again you love me.â
âAhhhhâI love you, Edward. Iâve loved you since the moment I met you. Please, make me cum.â Locking your eyes with the man in front of you, your body shakes and you scream Eddieâs name repeatedly as you cum. âPleaseâŠplease⊠cum inside me.â
The long-haired boyâs rhythm falters for a moment before his fingers grip your cheeks forcing you face him.Â
âAre you sure? Weâve neverâŠâ
âIâm sure. I want to have a family with youâŠboth of you.â
âFuckââ, he grunts at your confession as his eyes squeeze shut and he clings to your sweaty form as he pounds his release into your cunt. âH-Hearing you say thatâŠthat you really do want a family with aâŠcommoner like meââ
âYouâre not a commoner, honey. Your uncle worked so hard to get where he is.â
âI love you.â, he whispers and kisses your lips.Â
Grinning, you focus on Steve and circle your arms around his neck as he tugs you under his large frame.Â
âThank you for defending me to.â
You canât help but giggle as he trails kisses from your forehead, down to your nose, and along your cheek to your neck.
âIâll always protect you and defend you. No matter what.â Your eyes roll back as he gradually pushes his length into your slightly sore pussy. âFuckâI love you, Y/N.â
###############
âAnd there she goes. Why do I even bother?â, the nurse sasses as you promptly climb out of the pod and run to your room.
You were having so much trouble catching your breath having been pulled out in the middle of your intimate moment. You could still feel the intense want and need of having Steve inside you but more than anything your current reality was mixing with that one as you started to sob, feeling heartbroken that you didnât hear yourself tell this man again that you loved him.Â
A rough palm grabbed your bicep and turned you around as lips crashed to your own.Â
The second you recognized the taste, you allowed Steve to push your back against the wall as his arms held your waist as close to him as possible.Â
He tastes the same as the other universes. How can that be?
Neither of you willing to separate, you listened to him grunt in your ear as he sloppily pulled down your sweats before tugging at his own enough to free his hard, leaking cock from its confinement.Â
âOh f-fuck.â, you mewled as he stretched your tight pussy open and set an aggressive pace as he slammed his hips into yours.Â
Your fingers threaded through his soft hair as you bit into his shoulder to stifle the continuous moans that wanted to break free especially when he took hold of one of your thighs to wrap around his waist as he hit your g-spot at a much more precise angle.Â
As you opened your eyes, you were met with Eddieâs soft chocolate ones in the doorway and that was enough to allow the coil to snap as you whimpered Steveâs name repeatedly into his ear. At the feeling of your cunt quivering around him, he dropped your leg and quickly pulled out, pumping his cock in his fist till you felt his spend hit your thigh.Â
âI-I love you.â At your words, Steve tilted back to look at your face. âI said it to Eddie again. Y-You said it to me but I didnât get to say it back. I didnât get to say it back. I did the same with Kallie. I didnât say it back and then she died.â
Your arms clung to him tighter as he slid with you to the cold tile floor. A blanket was wrapped around your lower half before you felt another set of strong arms circle around you.Â
âSweetheart, just like that Steve in the other universe, Iâm sure your sister knew you loved her.â, Eddie whispered as he rested his chin on your shoulder.Â
âYou donât know me. You donât know what Iâve done.â, you murmur back.Â
âIn every universe my father hates me including this one. He wants me to be someone Iâm not. Feeling that in every universe so far⊠itâs heartbreaking but I know Iâm ok because of you two.â, Steve sighs and when you pull back he quickly wipes the tear that escaped down his cheek.Â
âIn all of mine my mom is dead and my dad abandons me leaving me with my uncle. IâŠI feel them allâŠall the memories those other versions of me have with my mother being a loving woman and my father being an abusive piece of shit. I feel what I feel for you and Steve; my best friend and the woman I care for. I get overcome with this strong need to protect you.â, Eddie follows as his voice shakes.
âThat has to mean something. If whatever you did in those universes didnât affect us thereâŠâ
âThen it wonât affect us here.â, the metalhead finished.Â
Shaking your head, you push yourself away from them and pull up your sweats as you head for the door.Â
âYouâre safe with us, Y/N.â, Steve called giving you pause. âThatâs been the same in every universe toâŠincluding this one.â

Chapter 1/Donate to Me <3
âOk and how did you feel moving around?â
âLike a passenger I guess. It was very much like a movie or VR.â, you sigh as you lean back in your seat.Â
You had been answering his questions for over two hours and quite frankly you were exhausted. After the experiment and now dealing with this asshole, you barely even had time to process what you saw.Â
âWas anything similar to our universe? Or even your life in general?â
âMy sister was still dead. Thatâs fun.â, you sass as his eyes scan you over. âUm, they seem forever regressed in a time period that has long since past even though my grandma always said the 90s were a blast.â
âWas anyone there you recognized? Family, past friends, relationships?â
Your gaze shifts as you avoid his eyes and prepare to do the thing you do best; lie.
âUm, my ex was there. In that universe, he cheated on me. In ours, he just left me.â
âI see⊠ok, and you said you just went to bar, listened to a band, went to a party, and then woke up?â
âYup.â, you reply with an obnoxious pop on that last letter.
âDid anything stand out as odd or feel off?â
You got lost in the void as you ran through the universe you just experienced and couldnât help but smile at the warm fuzzy feeling of safety that flowed through you when you were around Eddie and Steve. For the first time in years, nothing stood out or felt off.
âY/N?â
âOh, um, no nothing.â
âOkâŠok. Go ahead and head back to the common area. We just served meals so eat, rest up, and weâll talk again after the next session.â
***
The following day, you felt their eyes on you. Steve was always in a corner doing push-ups or working out in the gym that was provided while Eddie was either smoking or reading on the balcony outside of the sitting area.Â
You planned to avoid them for the rest of the time but you were antsy as jitters ran through your hands desperate for a beer to calm your nerves. Stepping outside, you took a seat on one of the lawn chairs without looking his way.Â
Before even saying a word, he extended his arm out with his pack in hand.
âDonât get used to this. These things are fucking expensive in here butâŠâ When all you do is stare, he shakes it finally willing you to take one of the sticks between your fingers and lighting the end. âItâs kind of amusing to me that thereâs a universe with an Eddie Munson that doesnât smoke. He had a point though. Because of my mom I shouldnât be doing it myself yet here I am.â
Flashing a smirk your way, he visually takes this version of you in as you inhale the cigarette and blow out a big puff of smoke. Compared to the you in the alternate universe, you seemed a bit more rough around the edges. While you never answered Steveâs question about your class status, you did seem like you fit in both.Â
You could pass for upper class like the other boy with how clean cut you were with that air of arrogance that screamed everyone was beneath you. But unlike them, you seemed exhausted like someone who had just completed their last leg of ten-mile race. You appeared sassy and confident but to him you also seemedâŠsad.Â
âYou said your name was Y/N? In the thing I mean.â, he clarified when your looked at him with confusion. âIâm Eddie. Well Edward but my friends call me Eddie.â
âI donât care. You and I arenât friends.â
âExcuse the fuck out of me, princess.â
Your eyes shift his way again at the term remembering him calling you that in the alternate universe and how comfortable he made you feel.Â
âIâm sorry. I, uh, yeah my name is Y/N. Doctor dipshit said I had to be sober for this experiment so itâs been a week since Iâve had anything and itâs making me insane.â
âI know how that goes. After our experience I would love a beer.â, he chuckles making you grin as well. âSo, uh, if I may how did it feel?â
âIâm sorry?â
âThe doctor guy asked me what it felt like in the universe and I told him it was kind of surreal like I was seeing through someone elseâs eyes but what was even more crazy was I could smell the smoke in the air at the party. I could practically feel the plastic from the controller when I was playing that game. I, um, I could feel your lips. I can still smell your perfume and cold air that was attached to you when Steve brought you inside.â
Jesus, he could string words together like a poet which you werenât expecting at all. As he spoke, your brain replayed those four hours as your eyes took in Eddie who had turned in his chair to give you more of his attention.Â
âDid you experience the same?â
âI did.â, Steve answers as he saunters around the corner and sits at the end of your lawn chair to light his own cigarette eliciting an eye roll from the other boy.Â
âI wasnât asking you, Harrington, but good to know.â
As the man inhales and exhales, he stares off into the distance towards the skyline.Â
âI think that was genuinely the first time I felt happyâŠbeing on stage and playing that guitar⊠Then I saw you come in and I felt like I knew you.â
âMaybe in that universe we had passed by each other a few times before that night.â
Steveâs lips pout out as he shakes his head.Â
âNaw, it didnât feel that way. Did it feel like that for you?â
âNo.â
âJust no?â
âJesus Christ! What do you both want from me?!â
âA straight fucking answer maybe.â, Eddie responds as you rise from your chair and toss the cigarette over the edge of the building.Â
âI donât owe you anything especially an answer.â
As you start to head back inside the long-haired boyâs voice gives you pause.Â
âI still donât think less of you for anything youâve done. Thatâs one thing that version of me and I have in common.â
âI donât either but I do want to know more.â
***
That morning you dragged your sleepy form to the cafeteria to grab some coffee and took a seat at a random tableâŠor so you thought.Â
âKinda starting to feel like youâre stalking me, sweetheart.â
âJesus Christ.â, you sigh ignoring his breathy laugh as he continues to pick at the cereal in his bowl. âWhy are you two even eating together? I thought you hated each other.â
âI mean, weâre going to be stuck together for a month. Might as well make the best of it.â, Steve shrugs as he sips from his own cup.Â
You take in his comment as your gaze shifts to the void in front of you. You had numerous dreams about them and a couple about Kallie that were making you feel a bit lonely. You could have some casual conversation. What could it hurt?
âI felt safe with you both. It was an intense emotion but I knew I could trust you. Which is weird because I donât trust anyone except my sister.â
âKallie.â You nod at Eddieâs answer surprised he even remembered. âDo you have that tattoo?â
âYeah and in the same place.â
âItâs interesting what stays the same. My dad is still an asshole, Eddie was still living with his uncle, and you still lost your sister.â, Steve theorized as he casually continues to drink. âIâm sorry, honey. Maybe this universe today will be different.â
âHonestlyâŠI donât know what Iâd do if I saw her face again.â
âOk, guys.â, the doctor shouts as he claps his hands to get everyoneâs attention. âWeâre very excited about the second test to see what happens. It seems we had some positive experiences when it came to the first universe. Weâre hoping for the same in this regard. Please, if you donât mind, gather your dishes and place them on the counter so we can start heading to the vessels.â
âPfft, if you donât mind. Like we have a choice.â, Eddie snickers as he takes note that his comment made you smirk as well.Â
As you enter the experiment room, the three of you separate to go to your different pods where nurses do the same as they had before; making sure you were comfortable and getting your vitals.
âAlright, Y/N, ready for the pinch⊠Oh I know.â, she coos as you wince. âDropping down in 3, 2, 1âŠâ
######################
Everything was dark around you when you tried to open your eyes but couldnât. The feeling of fear heavy in your heart as you listened to people whisper around you.Â
âDo you really think sheâll help save us?â
âYeah, I mean sheâs a part of his group so once he comes for her we can use her to have Harrington provide us with a cure.â
âIf he has the cure than why hasnât he done it already?â
âI donât fucking know! Maybe heâs selfish like his father.â
The sound of your whine gives them pause as you try to break the bonds tied around your wrists keeping you fastened to the chair underneath you. They were using you to get to one of the men you loved.Â
If theyâd remove the gag from your mouth you could tell them the truth; that he didnât have a cure. If he had, he absolutely would have handed it over by now. You knew because you thought the same thing.
When you met him, you werenât aware of what building you were in until you found him rummaging through his fatherâs desk. When you pulled your gun on him, he held up his palms in surrender insisting he wasnât here to cause trouble. It took all your energy not to kill him right then and there but a red dot zeroed in on your chest forced you to pause.
The Harrington Virus was the reason your sister was taken from you, dying in your arms before she began to turn into a mindless flesh-eating corpse that you had to put down.Â
He told you then about how his fatherâs company had created a viral weapon to sell to the military but it backfired and ended the world. His parents went into hiding and he spent the last two years looking for a cure feeling strongly it had to be somewhere within his fatherâs things.Â
Over the last six months, you got to know him and his best friend he had been trying to survive with, falling in love with them and trying to help them save the world so to speak.Â
While out on a routine supply run, someone took you and here you were.
âDid you hear that?â, one of the men asked cocking his gun as you hear footsteps echo away from you.Â
Loud squelching noises make you jump as you prepare for the worst. Your body trembles in terror before the blindfold is removed from your eyes and you blink to adjust to the light around you.
âEverythingâs ok, honey.â, Steve comforts as he takes the gag out of your mouth and begins untying you from the chair. Taking in your surroundings, both men who had kidnapped you were now dead with the manâs knife bloodied on the ground beside you. They had brought you to a warehouse of some kind but where you werenât sure.
âSteve, you shouldnât be here. They wanted you to come for me! We had a deal!â
âYeah we did but I ignored it. We can fight about it later.â, he sasses as he grabs your hand and prepares to run before meeting another gun barrel in his face. âTommyâŠgood to see you again.â
The man growls as he hits Steve with the butt of his weapon and watches as he falls to the side.Â
âGood to see you to, Harrington. Howâs your dad?â
âI wouldnât know. He disappeared and didnât feel the need to take me with him.â, the boy winces as he tries to stand but is pushed back down.Â
You step forward to help but Tommy turns the gun on you.Â
âDonât move, Y/N. How could you do this? How could you side with him after what happened to Kallie?!â
âDonât you dare talk about my sister!â
âShe would be so ashamed of you! You said you were going to kill him and yet somehow you managed to fuck him. The first time we saw you two together while scouting we thought maybe you were just trying to get on his good side. Come to find out, no, you actually fucking love him!â
You see the glint of light near the ceiling and your sigh in frustration at both menâs stubbornness. As you hold your palm in the air, Tommy scans you over trying to get a read on what youâre doing.Â
âItâs not his fault, Tommy. I promise. These past 6 months weâve been trying to track down Bill and any notes he had on a cure. Weâve come up with nothing.â
âThatâs impossible! He canât just fucking evaporate into thin fucking air, Y/N!â
âI know! But he will if you kill his son. If you kill him youâll never have a chance!â
You see doubt flicker across his face for a split second before it hardens once more and raises his weapon in your direction.Â
âIâm sorry.â Your voice cracks as you close your eyes and close your fist above you. The second your fingertips make contact with the bottom of your hand, you hear a soft whooshing sound followed by a bullet hitting flesh and when you open your eyes again Tommy is dead on the ground in front of you. âYou two are idiots.â, you scold as you lean forward to help Steve to his feet right as Eddie slides into view slinging his sniper rifle over his shoulder.
âAre you alright?â, the long-haired boy asks with concern as his fingers caress the scrapes on your skin.Â
âYeah, come on. We have to go.â
The three of you run and skirt around the undead unseen back to the compound you called home.
***
âOoooooow!â, Steve whines overdramatically as a girl pushes a bandage over the cut on his forehead.Â
âOh, donât be such a baby.â, she teases as she lightly taps his forehead and turns to work on you.Â
âIâm fine, Robin. Donât waist the supplies.â
âI didnât ask if you were fine, Y/N. I am designated nurse lady so let me at least look you over, please and thank you.â, she grins making you smile as well as you rolled your eyes.Â
The year you and Kallie were with Tommy and his group, you rarely smiled. Everything you two did there was to find the Harringtons and find a cure especially after Tommyâs girlfriend got infected. There was very little time for play or fun and your sister hated it. She always talked about leaving the group and heading off towards the beach with your back to the water.Â
You insisted on staying because you felt like you were close to the cure. Maybe if you had left Kallie would still be hereâŠ
When you joined Steve and Eddie at their base with the high school, everyone seemed so much more at ease. They worked together to get things done and made time to have fun which you didnât realize you missed till your first night here.Â
âOk, do you think any more of them will come back?â, Wayne asked at the desk just outside of the nurseâs office.Â
âI donât know. Y/N always said Tommy was in charge so I guess it depends on who takes over and if they even want to bother.â, his nephew answers as they continue to look down at a map on the table.Â
âWell, weâll continue to keep an eye out and I suggest Steve and Y/N donât leave this place alone for any reason until we can confirm.â
âCan I shoot them in the legs if they do?â, Eddie jests as his best friend pushes him to the side lightly.
You feel all eyes in the room watch you as you silently leave the area and head to your shared room with the guys. The best part about being in a school was each classroom was utilized as a different room. This particular hallway was for bedrooms but soon you would have to open another with the more people you let in.Â
The generators kept the electricity running so you were able to have mini fridges and food in each area along with music and anything else you may need.Â
âOk, we can fight about it now if you want.â, Steve announces as they both come in and shut the door.Â
Shaking off your jacket and tossing it aside you continue to ignore them as they do the same. Fashion was scarce in the apocalypse but goddamn did they look good. Steve always wore that brown leather military jacket he stole from a gun store nearby but depending on who he was meeting that day was what he wore underneath. For your rescue, jeans and a crisp black t-shirt with black running shoes were in order but if he was meeting a new member of the group or a group outside to do exchanges with he donned slacks and a button up shirt to look âpresentable.âÂ
Eddie never cared as long as he was comfortable. When you guys went out scavenging, if he found a band shirt he enjoyed he brought it back home with him wearing one of those with a pair of jeans or sweats and always having his DIO vest over that which he had modified himself to hold his sniper bullets should he need them.Â
Before you met them you knew about Eddie Munson but not enough to form an opinion. With Tommy, you had done research on Steve and he was flagged as an accomplice but deemed invaluable because there wasnât much information on them together. When you and Kallie did stake outs, you saw them spend time together and watched him practice firing his weapon, surprised about how well he shot.Â
After coming here, you learned that his uncle had been in the military before he came to live with him and took him out to a range to show him how to shoot. Eddie himself signed up for service and did a tour labeled as the best sniper marksman in his unit. He had planned on doing another tour but while on leave the world ended.Â
Your eyes continue flick between them as Eddie leaned against the arm of the couch with his arms folded across his chest while Steve stood in front of you waiting for you to speak. Unable to find the words in that moment, you stepped forward and smacked him hard across the face.
âWe had a deal. If anything ever happened to me; if I got kidnapped or was in a situation that was dangerous you would leave me behind because people on this earth and finding a cure was more important!â
âI made that deal for you but Iâve never liked it especially now.â
âOh my God, Steve, you are so fucking selfish! Weâve come so close numerous times to finding an end to this! Iâm just one person in a sea of others who need your help!â
âThatâs how you see it. I donât.â
âI donât care! The world needs you!â
âThe world may need me but I need you!â, he snaps, placing his hands on his hips as he exhales. âWE need you.â
âThatâsâŠthatâs not fair.â
âNo, sweetheart. Whatâs not fair is making us choose. To usâŠyouâre our world. We love you.â, Eddie adds softly as your eyes meet his. âNow, how about we stop pretending youâre sacrificing yourself for the world and be honest. You donât want us coming to save you because you donât want to be responsible for another death.â
âEven though we tell you time and time again that what happened with Kallie wasnât your fault.â
Your jaw tightens as you glare at the wall.Â
âI got stuck in that building. I should have been the oneâŠâ
âNo, baby, no. Your sister made her choice because she loved you. What happened wasnât because of you or her. It happened because my father was greedy and helped create a weapon without knowing anything about it.â
Tears started to fall but as they stepped forward, you hastily ran out of the room.
***
âHey, Y/N. Can you go the library for me and grab me a book about infections? Iâm trying to read up on alternative remedies for green things.â
âGross and you canât get this, Rob, becauseâŠ?â
âBecause I asked you to.â
Laughing and patting her shoulder, you got to your feet as you headed away from the group in the cafeteria to make your way for the library to get what she needed. Part of the reason you put up with Robinâs sass is because she reminded of Kallie; 90% attitude and sarcasm with a kind, genuine heart.Â
As you opened the door music caught your attention as you stepped inside.Â
âMiss Y/L/N.â, Eddie smiled as he gestured towards the table that had a candle lit in the middle surround by cafeteria trays of food in front of three seats.Â
âIâm going to kill Robin.â
âAh no youâre not.â, Steve teases as he takes your hand and guides you to your seat. âOn our menu today, we have school lunch hamburgers with a side of fries and a can of soda Eddie brought back with him from his last supply run.â
âAaaaaandâŠâ, the long-haired boy sings as he reaches into his vest and pulls out the desert to display to you. âA chocolate cupcake.â
âOh my god. What did I do to deserve this Michelin star meal?â, you joke with a smile.
âYouâre you.â, Eddie grins as he reaches over to place his palm over yours. âAnd you went through a lot today. Not just with getting kidnapped but these were people you were with for over a year. They were familyâŠâ
âKallie was family. You twoâŠare my family.â, you sigh as you swallow the lump in your throat. âIâm sorry, I justââ
âHey, no reason to apologize. Youâre a stubborn hardass. We get that.â, Steve interrupts sarcastically, chuckling when you punch his arm. âIf anyone gets that, honey, itâs us. I may help watch over those people out there but you both mean everything to me. I donât know where I would be ifâŠâ
Your heart broke as you watched him shift into a memory he only spoke about a handful of times. When the virus broke out, he was at home but did what they rehearsed as a family and ran to his BMW to speed to the airport. His parentâs security stopped him as the helicopter flew over his head and neither of them even gave a cursory glance at their son as it flew away.Â
The area became over run and all Steve could do was sprint as he tried to remain in one piece. He was cornered at the high school and right as he thought he was about to die; gun fire went off before a ringed hand reached from behind a gate and yanked him inside.Â
Eddie had been with his uncle which he was thankful for as both men ran to the closest safe place they could find. Some of the nearby kids were hold up there and he did what he could to save them. Once it was cleared of the infected, he and Steve worked together to build their little community.Â
âIâm sorry, baby.â
Flashing you a big smile, he reaches for your hand and kisses the back as you three eat your meal. When youâre finished, Eddie beams your way mischievously and presses something behind him before a new song lightly flows through the room.Â
âWise men say
Only fools, only fools rush in
Oh, but I, but I, I can't help falling in love with you.â
âYouâre such a dork.â, you giggle as you take the hand he extends to you and guides you to your feet where you both lightly begin to sway.Â
âShall I stay?
Would it be, would it be a sin?
If I can't help falling in love with you.â
âI was terrified when you didnât come back.â, Eddie murmurs above you as you lay your head against his chest. âI tried picturing you as one of those things and I just⊠it killed me. When Steve got Tommyâs letter, I was relieved you werenât dead but I was so angryâŠI wanted to burn that whole place to ground.â
As your gaze shifts to look at his face, you realize his eyes are glazed over as he simmers in his fury. Even though the world had ended, Eddie still carried PTSD from the time before. While he was a decorated soldier, during his tour he saw a lot of things he carried with him that had you holding him at night as he cried from a nightmare.Â
Zombies were one thing but men coming after him with weapons and intent was another.Â
âI love you, baby. Iâm right here and Iâm not going anywhere.â
Blinking back into the moment, he softly smiles before kissing your forehead and spinning you into Steveâs awaiting arms.Â
âLike a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things, you know, are meant to be.â
âI donât know what weâd do without you, honey. Jesus, wait until we tell our children we met their mom when she pointed a gun in my face.â, he chuckles as he playfully dips you.Â
As your face falls, he wraps his arms tightly around you.
âTake my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can"t help falling in love with you.â
âWeâre going to figure this out, Y/N. Whether it be a cure or a safe place in this chaos, weâll get everything in order and start a family.â
Tilting your head back, his lips land softly on yours as his kisses slowly get more passionate.Â
âWaitâŠwhat if someoneâŠcomes in here.â, you pant making him smile as his thumbs caress your cheek.
âIâve booked this suite all night, baby. Itâs just you, me, and Eddie till morning.â
After quick peck again, you fall to your knees and fumble with his belt as he removes his shirt above you. As soon as his cock springs free, your lips wrap around it as he places his hand on your head to guide you.Â
âGod, Y/N. That feels so fucking good.â
Reaching behind you, the long-haired boy laughs knowing what youâre looking for as he comes closer and pushes down his sweats. Both men groan and exhale heavily as your mouth switches between them while pumping your hand to spread your saliva along their shaft.Â
âCome here, sweetheart.â, Eddie breathily instructions as he jumps up on to one of the tables and helps you out of your jeans and panties before guiding you till you were straddling his waist.Â
After lifting off his own shirt, you couldnât help but kiss along the scars on his chest like you always did as he petted your head. He had so many old wounds from battles he didnât talk about; war, the apocalypse, his father when he was growing up.Â
Eddie gave you the baseline of information. When his mother went missing he cried every day but his father didnât care, hurting him over and over till he was arrested. One day overseas a bomb went off knocking him back and causing the little cuts on his stomach. Before he ran with Wayne, the trailer park was over run and he smashed out a car window to hot wire it so they could get away.Â
Each scar had a different story but they made up the man he was and you loved every part of him.Â
You felt safe with him; both of them.
âF-Fuck, princess.â, Eddie mewled as your gradually descended on to his length.Â
Cupping your face in his hands, he tenderly trailed kisses from your forehead to your lips.Â
Feeling Steveâs large palms on your ass, you lifted up to allow him more access as he carefully guided his own cock into your hole.Â
You would never get used to the full feeling of them both inside you but just like out in the world, in the bedroom you felt safe.Â
Between their bodies, nothing else mattered.
You could see the stars, heaven, and even the future. A future with no virus, smiling kids, and happy home filled with hope. No more nightmares or screams. Just peace.Â
âHey, hey. A-are you ok? Are we hurting you?â, Steve asked as Eddie whipped the tears that had begun to fall.Â
âNoâŠI just love you both⊠so much.â
Grinning they kiss a random part of your body as they begin thrusting into you again at a steady pace.Â
âWe love you to, baby. Mmphâ everythingâs ok.â
âWe love you.â, Eddie repeated as his jaw fell open in a silent moan. âYou feel so good.â
Wrapping your arms around his neck, you clung to him as they found a faster rhythm allowing their cocks to hit every sensitive spot inside of you roughly.Â
âCum, baby. You can do it, honey. Thatâs it.â, Steve coaxed as your body shook and the coil snapped. âAtta girl. Thatâs our beautiful girl. Shit.â, he grunted as his hips sloppily slammed his release into your behind.
âFuck, fuck, fuck. Up, Y/N.â, Eddie lightly commanded but the other boy took the initiative, lifting you off his friendâs dick and allowing you to tilt over him as you bobbed your head, catching his release on your tongue as it spurts down your throat. âMmphâgood girl. Good girl.â
You giggle as Steve pulls you down the floor and you utilize his arm as a pillow while the long-haired boy hops down to snuggle you to his chest.Â
âWe got you one more thing.â
âWhy?â, you blush as you listen to his strained groan while reaching for his bag above his head.Â
âBecause we love you. Unless you donât want it. I can take it back to the store andââ His grin grows as you lightly smack his arm and Eddie chuckles behind you.Â
As soon as everyone calms down, he produces a small diamond ring that has you smirking his way.Â
âWhatâs that?â
âA ring.â
âFor what?â
âFor you.â, the other boy answers. âIf you want it, that is.â
You canât help but blink as you sit up and they follow.Â
âI donât understand.â
âYes, you do.â, Steve replies way too calmly. He was definitely meant to be a leader. âYouâre just scared.â
âI am not. What on earth do I have to be afraid of?â
âBesides the ever-present doom of the end of the world?â, Eddie jokes as he leans back on his palms. âMaybe losing usâŠlike you did Kallie⊠Trust me, babe. I was a solider. I understand that fear better than most.â
âSo do I. My parents abandoned me in the middle of all this.â, Steve gestures around him. âI watched them fly away while people around me were dying but, honey, you canât live your life in fearâŠespecially this one. We could be gone at any second and if anything happened to me than Iâd want my last memories to be a full life with you and my best friend.â
After thinking for a moment, you casually take the ring from his hand and pretend to inspect it.
âI think when you give a girl something like this youâre supposed to ask her a specific question.â
They both laugh as they grab each one of your hands.Â
âHoney, Iâve been love you since I met you. Youâre smart, sweet, and so fucking beautiful. The first time I held you I knew Iâd never let you go. Will you marry me?â
Cupping your cheek, Eddie turned you to face him.Â
âI donât trust many people but when I saw you running around that building trying to sneak up on Steve I knew you were special.â, he chuckles as you laugh at the memory. âI love your sarcasm and your strength and you motivate me to open my heart not just to you but people around me. You make me a better man, sweetheart. Will you marry me?â
Before you can answer, Dustin busts through the library doors as they pull a blanket over your lower half to cover you.Â
âHenderson! Rude, manââ
âSteve, something⊠you need to comeâŠnowâŠâ, the boy panted.Â
Noting his genuine concern, both men pulled up their pants and began to follow.Â
âStay here.â
âThatâs cute you think Iâd listen to that.â, you answer his command sarcastically as you tug up your own jeans and push past them to see whatâs going on.Â
As you enter a hallway by the doors, you see Robin running around a woman on the floor trying to assess her wounds as she tries to catch her breath.Â
âH-H-Harrington. I needâŠHarringtonâŠâ
When Steve steps through the crowd, her eyes widen as she forces herself off the floor and limps to him, collapsing in his arms as he catches her.Â
Swallowing in frustration, she extends her palm and hands him a crumbled-up piece of paper.Â
âC-C-Cure.â
His amber eyes widen as he twists his head to meet your own irises as your mouth falls open in shock behind the long-haired man who insisted on keeping you behind him to keep you safe.
The woman notices as her bottom lip trembles and extends her arm to reach for him.Â
âEddie?â, she whispers.
The man scans her over again before kneeling beside his friend to take her hand in his.Â
âMom?â, his voice cracks at the realization. âWhatâŠwhere have youââ
#########################
Muffled screaming is the first thing you hear as your eyes snap open and the pod door slowly slides out.Â
âEverythingâs alright, Miss Y/N, Iâm going toâno! Please donât do this again!â
You ignore the nurse as you swing your legs over and promptly go on the hunt for Eddie. That feeling you had in the universe was still heavy in your heart; that worry for him as soon as he knelt down.Â
The people around you were crying and still trying to catch their bearings as nurses tried to calm them.Â
âZombies were everywhere! They had us cornered!â
âMy wife was trying to kill me!â
âI swear I could feel their teeth!â
A hand suddenly intertwined with yours, tugging you forward out of the room and down the hallway. Steveâs head was on a swivel as he searched for the other boy but you couldnât take your eyes off him as that air of confidence from the other universe still seemed to cling to him as that rush of safety washed over you.Â
âEd?â
At his soft worried tone, your gaze shifted as you both entered the dorms and saw the man before you pacing as his chest heaved in what looked like anger.Â
âEverythingâs ok, Munson.â
âEverything is NOT ok.â, he growled. âDid you see her, Steven? She was in so much pain and needed help⊠and why was she talking about your dad?!â
âI-I donât know. Thatâs not me and even if it was that Steve felt just as confusedââ
âBULLSHIT!â, Eddie screamed as he lurched toward him and shoved him against the wall. âMy uncle and dad worked for your fatherâs company in this universe! If Bill did something to her in that other oneâŠâ
âEddie, I swear on my life, I have no idea what my father does with his business but Iâm sure he wouldnât be responsible for what happened to your mother.â
âWhat did happen?â, you ask making the long-haired boy jump, forgetting you were even there.
âShe diedâŠcancerâŠwhat was odd though was she had no family history of it.â, he rumbled as his angry eyes focused on Steveâs.Â
âSoâŠthis was the first time you saw here in a whileâŠ?â
The manâs voice shook as he answered your question.Â
âSince I was sixâŠâ
âEddieâŠI donât know much about either of you in this world but so far in both Steveâs father has been an asshole who abandoned his son. 2 for 2 says a lotâŠwhich makes me think that in this universe here, itâs most likely the same.â Steveâs eyes flutter slightly at your assessment as the other manâs grip around him loosens. âWhatever Bill Harrington is involved inâŠI donât think heâd have his son help or know about it and not because he doesnât want him to get in trouble.â
âMy dad has told me numerous times Iâd never live up to our name.â, the man whispers. âIâm so sorry, Ed. I swear if I knew anything Iâd tell you. Iâd have told you a long time ago.â
Eddie snickers as he steps back.Â
âWhen? When you were ignoring me or when your friends were calling me a freak? You always treated me like I was beneath you especially at school because only you rich pricks should have been there according to you. Us kids of employees should have been relegated to some cheap public school, remember?â Steveâs jaw tightens as his eyes flick to you before finding the boyâs again. âWhich is why I donât FUCKING UNDERSTAND why 2 for 2 you and I are friends and fucking THIS girl.â, he shouts as he gestures towards you.Â
âDonât look at me. I donât get it either.â, you growl as you fold your arms defiantly.
âYou HAVE to know us or even one of us.â, Steve insists. âYou come from money right? Have I seen you or something at a party or a charity thing? Anything?â
âFirst off, fuck you. Second, I donât come from money. My fatherâs side does.â
âOur private school has your last name.â
âNo, it has my great grandfatherâs last name. That doesnât mean I know you.â
âJesus, youâre really fucking stubborn.â
âI donât know why youâre quizzing me! Iâm just as confused as you! Look, I just came in here to make sure Eddie was ok and now I regret it. This is why I didnât want to make friends or whatever.â
âBecause they die or leave?â
Your eyes narrow towards the long-haired boy as you glare his way.Â
âExcuse me?â
âYou heard me. In both universes, you talked about your sister and how you were afraid of us leaving you. Whether that be through judgement or death. In the first one your boyfriend cheated and then in this one your âfamilyâ kidnapped and scolded you for your choice. Is it the same in this universe? Are you afraid if you make friends with anyone youâll end up alone again?â
âFuck you, Eddie.â
âWhat happened to Kallie?â
âNone of your fucking business!â
As you start to walk away, Eddie grabs your arm to pull you back and in return you smack him. He doesnât say a word as his grip on your bicep slides to your wrist and his head hangs.
âIâm sorry. Youâre rightâŠitâs none of our business. JustâŠseeing my mom and then feeling everything that other Eddie felt.â
âI understand.â, you sigh as you lean your forehead on his. âIt lingersâŠthe feelingsâŠâ
âWe never got an answer.â, Steve murmurs causing you both to look his way. âWe asked you to marry us. That Steve seemed confident and smooth but he was really fucking nervous to ask you that.â
âSo was Eddie. HeâŠyou made him feel like he wasnât just a robot who could wield a gun. You gave him hope. Hope for a future that he struggled to believe in.âÂ
As the feelings and their words overwhelmed you, you tried to leave again but his hand kept you in place and Steve came up behind you till his chest was against your back.Â
âPlease, donât go.â
Eddieâs shoulders shook as he began to cry and as your arms wrapped around him, he rested his face into the nook of your neck as he clung to you, holding you tightly to his chest.
Nothing's Gonna Change My World (Steddie X You)(90s Universe)
A/N: I hope you like this. It's a new style for me and I have all the ideas for this. Each chapter will be a different universe. <3
Warnings: Steddie X Fem Y/N, The universe they view the first time is a 90s esc style one with Punk Boy in a Band Steve/ Entrepreneur Eddie and Regular 90's girl Y/N. SMUT, light spanking, daddy kink with Eddie (because Im me), and everything in between
ANGST (again because I'm me)
Y/N's kinda blah about the experiment mentioning she's only doing it for the money, mentions of cheating (her ex cheats on her), mentions of alcoholism (briefly touched on)(reader almost breaks her sobriety until Steve appears), mentions of loss of sibling (brief), these three get feisty with each other near the end. Slight cliffhanger ending I guess? There's some things we're going to learn about these three as the chapters go along.

âOk, thank you all for coming and being apart of our experiment. Iâm just going to go over some rules, guidelines and answer any questions you may have.â
You sigh and fold your arms as you drown out the sound of the doctor in front of you. Could you really call him a doctor? When you signed up to do this, he introduced himself as an inventor and scientist. You genuinely didnât care either way. All that mattered to you was the ten grand payout you were expected to receive when this stupid thing was over.Â
âAs stated previously, you will be here for about 3 weeks. You will be provided meals and beds free of charge but any additives like cigarettes or candy do cost extra.â
A boy snorted as he laughed under his breath drawing your attention. There was a total of about 15 people in the room but this boy stood out a bit more. It could be because you saw him outside of the building smoking when you were leaving your first initial interview but he seemed a lot less âput togetherâ than the people around you.
Every participant was given a white shirt with white sweatpants to wear and just like everyone else in the city most of the people were fairly clean cut with their hair pulled or slicked back, little to no makeup, and their face clean shaven. This boy had long, wavy hair that hung around to his shoulders and it seemed like he hadnât brushed it in months. He dawned tattoos on his arms that had some of the people around him flashing him dirty looks like he was unkempt.Â
You had a tattoo but it was hidden under your shirt by your heart where only you would see it.Â
When his chocolate-colored eyes briefly locked with yours, you shifted your gaze back to the man who was speaking.Â
âEvery other day, you will be in the vessel for 4 hours and we do administer a calming agent to make sure youâre relaxed through the experiment.â
âWhy? I thought you said this wasnât dangerous.â, a woman interrupts beside you.
âItâs not, Mrs. Lynette, but it can be slightlyâŠjarring⊠to see yourself in a different environment. We want you as relaxed as possible.â
âExcuse me. Can you explain that a bit more, please? Different environment.â, a boy asks as he leans forward with his elbows on his knees.Â
You ran into this boy as well after your interview. He bumped into you as you were opening the door to leave, mumbling an apology before holding it open wider for you to step through. His smell always lingered with you even when you went back home, trying to identify where you knew it from. It was definitely cologne but it felt so familiar.Â
He seemed like everyone else around him with all of his hair pushed back and his face clean of any stubble but his body language screamed that he was different. Up until this point, will everyone was sitting up straight and listening, he was leaning back with his large palms rubbing his knees as his long legs rested out in front of him.Â
After asking his question, he glanced towards you before you both looked towards the doctor.
âItâs hard to explain but the best way I can is you will getting glimpses into different universes and realties. They are you just in a different plain so to speak.â
âWill we be hurt or anything?â, someone else asked.
âNo, not in this universe anyway. You are only an observer. You wonât be able to interact or change anything.â
âSo whatâs the point of this experiment exactly?â, you ask more so out of curiosity than anything.Â
The doctor smiles as he presses his clipboard to his chest.Â
âTo learn. Learn about other worlds, other universes, other ways we can make this universe better.â Your eyebrows raise sarcastically as you huff and gross your legs. âYou guys will be the first people to test this system out so weâre hoping for a fun and unique month.â
âWill we be running into each other? What do we do if that happens?â, a man inquired.Â
âWe chose participants at random from different backgrounds with different circumstances and add in that there are so many factors that branch out universes or timelines. The chances of you running into someone in this room are one in a trillion. Less than evenâŠâ
You began to tune him out again until the feeling of hand touching your arm got your attention as you and the other participants were led to a large white room with 15 different pods or âvesselsâ as he called them. The nurse who guided you, held your hand as you stepped in and laid down in the somewhat comfy Styrofoam bed underneath you.
âAlright, Miss Y/L/N, youâre going to feel a slight pinchâŠâ You hissed as the needle pierced your arm but the effects were instant as you laid your head back and felt your body calm. âGood. Now Iâm just going to put these goggles over your eyes. This is what will allow you to see the universe. Remember, youâre just watching not interacting.â
âOkay.â, you murmured as you allowed her to place the bulky equipment over your head.
The sound of the pod closing had your fingers twitching as sounds around you became muffled.Â
âAlright, Miss Y/L/N, dropping down in 3, 2, 1ââ
##################
You sat in your car staring at the stupid club sign debating if you should go in or drive away. You had been sober for the past 3 years but your ex-boyfriend (as of today) decided to cheat on you with a friend from his office and all you wanted to do was drown your sorrows in booze.Â
âKallie, Iâm sorry.â, you whisper as you open your car door and are promptly hit with freezing cold winds. After running to the front door, you show the man your id and he allows you entry.Â
Smoothing down your hair, you quickly remove your jacket and hand it to the person behind the counter and thank her as you take the ticket youâre handed. The beeper clasped to your hip beeped but you continued to ignore it knowing who it was.Â
As you take a seat at the bar, you glance around at the people dancing under the ambient red light while the band continues to play a slow but rhythmic song that even has you sway.Â
âWhat would you like to drink, Miss?â, the bartender asks and you order the first thing that comes to mind.Â
Feeling eyes on you, your gaze shifts towards the stage to see the bands guitarist eyeing you before giving you a soft wink and a smile. At the action, you suddenly feel under dressed in your overalls and long sleeve turtleneck that hugs your figure.Â
The man focused on his music again and you couldnât but watch how his fingers moved across the strings of his instrument. He reminded you of a lead singer from any 90s punk band with his hair slightly spiked up but haphazardly flowing every which way and his black polo clinging to his upper torso to show off every muscle and tattoo he had. His jeans left little to the imagination but you loved the black and white converse that he showed off when jumping into the air as he played out the final song.Â
When he laughed and high fived his friend, he scrunched his nose and showed off his teeth making you smile as jealously panged your heart. You wished you were as happy as he seemed.Â
Your drink was placed in front of you and you stared at the contents as your fingers played with the rim of the bottle.Â
âAre you hoping to drink it with osmosis or?â You had been focusing so hard on your brain you didnât even notice the guitarist had come up beside you causing you to jump when he spoke. âWhoa! Iâm so sorry, honey. I didnât mean to scare you. Are you alright?â
God, he smells amazing.
âIâm ok. I was justâŠlost in my head.â
âI can understand that. Iâm, uh, Steve, Steve Harrington.â
âNice to meet you.â, you smile as you shake his extended hand. âIâm Y/N.â
âY/NâŠthatâs a beautiful name.â
âThank you.â Clearing your throat, you try to regain control as you gesture towards the stage. âYou guys sounded amazing up there.â
âThank you, thank you so much. My friend taught me how to play and Iâve been doing it ever sense. I love the rush I get you know?â
âYeah, I have some idea.â
His amber eyes scan you over as he takes in your soft smile and jittery hands.
âHey. I have an idea. Weâre going to an after party down the street at my friendâs house. His uncle makes a ton of money so he has like this huge mansion we all hang out in after a gig. Would you like to come? Heâs a cool dude.â
You werenât sure what it was about this boy but you felt safe with him. You felt like you had known him for years but you couldnât figure out how or why. Following your gut, you threw money on the table and started to head towards the front to get your coat.Â
âYou didnât finish your drink!â
âI donât need to, Steve Harrington.â
âWould you mind if I ride with you? We all take a van here.â, the man asks as he slings on his jacket and he grins when your fingers graze his patches.Â
âYeah, no problem.â
âY/N! I have been looking everywhere for you! Why the fuck are you at a bar?!â, your ex shouts as he meets you halfway up the parking lot.Â
âThatâs none of your fucking business! Get out of my way!â
âYou know you shouldnât be drinking!â
âAnd you know you shouldnât be fucking other women yet here we are.â, you growl as you dig for your keys.Â
A hand reaches out to touch you but itâs swiftly pulled back when Steve grabs his wrist.Â
âDonât fucking touch her.â
âWho the fuck is this?!â
As your ex pushes his hand away and steps towards you, the other man steps between you and shoves him back.Â
âIâm not going to tell you again. Donât touch her. It sounds like sheâs done with you. Now get the fuck out of here.â
âOr what?â
Again, he steps forward but this time Steveâs fist flies hitting your ex hard in the face.Â
âI warned you, asshole.â
As the bouncer comes out to see whatâs going on, you hastily grab his arm and run to your car.
***
âWow. Your friend lives here?â, you ask as you pull up to a two-story large house that took up most of the square footage of the area. âHow did you two meet?â
âUm, high school?â, he answers before shutting his door and running around to open yours. âHis uncle owns the factory up north and makes a ton of cash. Heâs a cool dude and people love working with him.â
âIs that what your friend does?â
âUh no. Eddie is kind of a freelancer, I guess you would say? He designs websites for people trying to utilize the world wide web. With this whole dot.com thing, he makes good money to. Designed our bands website.â
Steve didnât even knock before entering the home but the party was in full swing as people around you were cozying up on couches and music blared. There was a pool out back where you could see people diving in and splashing around while couples clung to each other in their swimsuits. The man beside you high-fived people as he passed them, banging his head to the bass as it blared.Â
Guiding you around a corner, there were a bunch of boys in front of a big screen tv, screaming towards it as they button mashed the Nintendo 64 controller.Â
âAh come on, man! Fuck you! You canât use swords when I only have this knife!â
âPick a better character than, Henderson! Boom!â, a long-haired boy shouted playfully as the character on the screen died. âAnd that is how you win, baby.â
Grinning wide, he ruffled the boyâs curls before standing and stepping over the back of his sofa.
âHarrington! Hey, man. How was the show?â
âPhenomenal as always.â, Steve beamed as he hugged his friend. âHey, I want you to meet Y/N. Y/N, this is my friend Eddie Munson.â
As you reached out to shake his hand, he took hold of your own and kissed the back of it as he bowed in front of you.
âNice to meet you, sweetheart. Can I offer you anything to drink? A beer maybe?â
âOh, um, no thank you. I donâtâŠI donât drink.â
Steveâs eyebrows furrowed as he scanned you over but he chose not to press you on the issue.Â
âNot a problem. Letâs head upstairs so we can talk somewhere quieter.â
Still clinging to your palm, Eddie guided as the other boy followed and you took this time to visually take in the boy in front of you. His long hair was pulled back so you could see the beautiful features in his face and the stubble that dusted his upper lip. While everyone else seemed more casual, he was dressed in a button up shirt with black slacks as if he had just got off from some corporate job.Â
Like with the other man, something about this boy told you that you could trust him. You had spent your whole life struggling especially within the last 6 years and besides Kallie never felt safe around anyone or anywhere. Even with your boyfriend, you were always afraid something bad was about to happen and oddly enough when it did you werenât surprised.Â
âWelcome to my cozy nook away from the craziness.â, Eddie beams as he falls theatrically into a bean bag on the floor. âY/N, I know you donât drink but may I offer you some weed?â
Reaching behind him, he produces a little black box and pulls out some bud that he begins to roll.Â
***
You cackle as you laugh at a story Eddie had just told that had both boys beaming your way.Â
âOh my god, itâs 3am. Weâve been up here for almost 4hrs. Do you need to get back to your guests?â
âMy moochers? No, sweetheart, I donât.â, the man answers in a husky drawl that makes you feel warm. âHonestly, Steve here is the only person who doesnât use me for my cash or free shit so thatâs why as soon as he arrives at my place, we come up here.â
âHmâŠmust be kind of lonely. Not knowing who you can trust.â, you reply absently causing their heads to tilt. âI can understand that.â
âYeah, poor girlâs going through a breakup.â, Steve relays causing you to sit up and cross your legs. âSomething about him cheating?â
âYeah, um, I came home from work early and they were⊠fucking asshole. Iâm not sure how he knew what bar I was at butââ
âEspecially since he seemed to think you shouldnât be there.â At his comment, you and Eddie shift your gaze his way before your head hangs. âSomething about how you shouldnât be drinking. Itâs weird when I met you, you were sitting at the bar with a drink in your hand but you werenât drinking it.â
When you didnât respond, Eddie clapped his hands and tossed a smile your way.Â
âI have an idea. Letâs play truth or dare. It will help us get to know each other better and you can find out how much of a whiney bitch Steven is.â
The man narrows his eyes jokingly at his friend as you laugh.Â
âHarrington, truth or dare?â
âTruth.â
âIs it true⊠that every time your dad pisses you off you get a new tattoo?â
âOh yeah. Thatâs why I have so many.â, he sasses, playfully widening his eyes as he removes his shirt to show them off. âI got this one on my stomach when my dad told me I was a waste of space for running off to join a band.â
âSteveâŠIâm so sorry.â, you try to comfort, reaching out to run your palm along his warm skin.
âEd, truth or dare?â
âTruth.â
âIs it trueâŠis it true you donât smoke?â
Eddie flashes his friend a disgusted face before showing of the joint in his fingers.Â
âI only smoke the green stuff, my friend. I used to smoke cigarettes but after a doctor told me I was at risk because my mom died of cancer I quit the stuff.â
âThatâs really good. Iâm proud of you.â, you grin.
âThank you, princess. Maybe you can help me talk Tom Delonge over here into stopping.â, he chuckles as Steve lightly kicks his friendâs knee with his bare feet. âAlright, Y/N. Truth or dare?â
âUm, truth.â
âIs it true what your boyfriend said? That you shouldnât be drinking.â
You blink, taken off guard by his question as both menâs eyes bore into your frame.Â
âItâs not that I shouldnât be. I choose not to.â
âWhy?â
âI, um, I used to be an alcoholic. When I drankâŠI got stupidâŠand people got hurt.â You glance their way expecting judgement like everyone else in your life but when youâre met with their soft eyes, you smile towards Steve. âTruth or dare?â
âTruth.â
âIs it true you think less of me because I almost broke my sobriety tonight?â
As your head slightly hangs, he reaches out with his fingers to lift your chin.Â
âNo, itâs not true. I get it, honey. Fucking asshole broke your heart and you just wanted the pain to stop. He had no right coming at you the way he did like heâs your fucking dad or something.â You canât help but exhale as his thumb caresses your cheek before dropping his hand back around his legs and focusing on Eddie. âTruth or dare?â
âTruth.â
âIs it true you think less of Y/N?â
âGod no. I think sheâs strong, funny, and extremely beautiful.â You blush at his compliment, reaching out to lightly swat his arm before he swiftly grabs your wrist and pulls you closer to his lap. âTruth or dare?â
âDare.â
The long-haired boy smiles mischievously at your answer.
âI dare youâŠto kiss Steve.â
âYou donât want to kiss me?â, you ask incredulously as his grin widens.
âI do but I donât want Harrington to think Iâm trying to steal you away.â
Releasing you from his grasp, you lean back and scoot closer to his friend, closing your eyes as you inhale the smell of weed and nicotine on his breath.Â
âYou donât have to do this if you donât want to.â, Steve whispers and that comfort is all you need as you tilt forward so your mouth can crash to his.Â
The best way to describe what you were feeling was safe and you reveled in it, falling deeper and deeper in with every movement of his lips. His palm tenderly cupped your face to bring you closer as his tongue invaded and danced with yours.Â
âHey, hey, hey. We arenât done playing!â, Eddie chuckled as he swatted your two apart but Steve was unwilling as he lifted you off the floor and placed you in his lap with your back to his chest. His strong, tattooed arms wrapped around you and you melted into his embrace. âYouâre turn, princess.â
âT-Truth or dare, Steve.â
âDare, baby.â
âI dare you to take off your pants and underwear.â With one arm still wrapped around your stomach, he unbuckled his belt and awkwardly shoved down everything he was wearing below his waist. âF-Fuck.â, you moaned when his large cock sprung free and hit his stomach.Â
âHarrington, sheâs not going anywhere. You can let her go.â
âI like feeling her against me. Truth or dare, Munson?â
âDare, dude.â
âI dare you to help Y/N out of her clothes so we can get a good look at this beautiful woman.â
Eddie crawls towards you on his hands and knees, playfully grabbing your ankle and sliding his palm up your calf.Â
âIs that ok, sweetheart? Can we see your body?â
âY-Yeah, yeah of course. Um!â They pause at your exclamation as both sets of eyes look down at you with concern. âI just feel like I should tell youâŠthis isnât normal for meâŠlike I donât go around jumping into bed with every guyâŠI meet at a bar.â
As you struggle through your words, Steve kisses your temple while Eddie unhooks your overalls.Â
âNo judgments if you did, babe. Weâre not like that either. Iâm assuming Harrington here really likes you. Heâs never brought a girl to the after party before.â
Lifting your hips, you allow him to slide off your pants while you help by removing your turtleneck and tossing it to the side.Â
âIs that true?â
âIâm, um, a little shy believe it or not.â, the man giggles as his lips lean down to kiss your neck.â
âTruth or dare, Y/N?â
âTruth.â, you pant as their hands caress your skin.Â
âIs it true youâve never been with two men before?â
âYes, itâs true butâŠâ
âBut what?â, Eddie coos his lips attach to the other side of your throat.Â
âI trust you. I canât explain it but I do.â Neither man said a word as they continued to suck on your skin before you aggressively grabbed the long-haired boyâs collar and forced him to face you. âTruth or dare?â
âDare.â
âI dare you both to fuck me.â
Lurching forward, his mouth needily kissed yours and you moaned at the taste of the joint on his lips. After hastily ripping off his shirt and pants with his own boxers, he pumped his cock in your direction and you didnât even hesitate as your palm took hold of his girth and your tongue ran along the tip.
âFuck, thatâs it, baby. Spit on it. Get it nice and wet.â Eddie bites his bottom lip when your eyes flick up to meet his as you spit on his mushroom head and stroke it along his shaft.Â
A loud moan ripples through from your throat when you feel Steve adjust you slightly before sliding his fingers under the waist band of your panties and run his fingers through your folds.Â
âShit, honey. Already so wet. Is this because of us?â When you nod, he mewls as he kisses your cheek. âGo ahead, pretty girl. Suck my friendâs dick. I got you.â
You did as he suggested and Eddieâs fingers tangled in your hair as he lightly thrust his hips, pushing himself as far down your throat as he could go. Your own whimper vibrated against him as Steve breached your entrance and slid one of his own digits into your cunt.Â
âGoddamn it, Ed. Sheâs so fucking tight. I wonder how she tastes.â
His friend pants out a laugh as he bends down and lifts you off Steveâs lap to place you directly onto the floor.
âIf you wanted to eat her out all you had to do was ask. Is this ok, Y/N? The floor isnât cold or anything?â Shaking your head, you reach for his lips and he smiles at your eagerness as his hands roam your skin. âYou really are beautiful, baby. Whatâs this?â, he asks as he lifts off your bra and his fingers trace the ink on your chest. âWhoâs Kallie?â
âMy sister. She died three years ago.â
Eddieâs eyes scanned yours before leaning down to give you a gentle kiss.Â
âIâm sorry, sweetheart.â
Feathery light kisses grabbed your attention as Steve traced your thigh with his lips before deeply inhaling you through his nose between your legs.Â
âYou smell good, honey. Can I make you feel good?â
âPlease.â, you beg and he obliges as his tongue runs up your slit to your clit.Â
Your fingers played with his hair and with every light pull, he would moan making your eyes roll back as Eddieâs palm massaged your stomach and up between the valley of your breasts.Â
âDoes his tongue feel good?â
âYes. C-Can IâŠCan I taste you again?â
As he pushed up onto his knees, you stuck your tongue out and he licked his lips as he tapped his cock against the muscle.Â
âNow keep your tongue flat, baby, and Iâm gonna fuck your throat while Stevie here makes you cum.â
At the sound of his name, the boy tilted back and spit directly into your hole, eliciting a filthy moan from you as he slid two of his fingers inside of you. Squeezing your eyes shut, you allowed Eddie to use you as he pumped his length hard and you gagged around him.Â
The sound drove Steve crazy and he wrapped his lips around your bundle of nerves as the obscene sound of slurping filled the room.Â
âGood girl. Fuck, baby. Cum on his fingers and keep that throat open for me. Thatâs it.â
Your pussy clung to Steveâs digits as the ball dropped and you came aggressively as he helped you through it. Kissing his way up your stomach, his lips lingered along your tattoo before you felt his tongue lick your skin to your neck.Â
âYou taste so fucking good, honey. Taste yourself.â, he commanded in a breathy whimper as he offered you his fingers that you eagerly sucked on. âAtta girl. Sweet like you.â, he cooed with a smile as he kissed your cheek.
They exchange a glance and switch places, Steve on his knees by your head while Eddie opens your legs wider and tosses one of them over his shoulder. You mewl as he glides his cock through your folds, collecting your slick as he pumps his hips.Â
As he begins to push inside of you, you wince slightly at his size while he carefully inches forward.
âI know, baby. Youâre ok. Everythingâs ok.â, the other man tries to sooth as he pets your head and places tender kisses along your face. âYouâre doing good.â
A jolt of electricity shoots through your body and your gaze shifts towards Eddie who was rubbing your clit with his thumb as he continued to watch himself disappear inside you.
âF-Fuck, itâs so big.â
âI know, sweetheart. Iâmâfuck, youâre so tightâIâm almost all the way in.â
Searching blindly behind you, it takes Steve a moment before he realizes what youâre looking for.Â
âYou want to suck my cock, Y/N? Can you handle us both right now?â
âYesâŠpleaseâŠâ, you whine making him groan with need as he scoots closer to your side.Â
When his friend bottoms out, he freezes allowing you to get used to his size as he tenderly kisses and rubs your calf against his shoulder.Â
âFuck me.â
Finding a steady rhythm, Eddie obliges and so does Steve as he guides his length into your awaiting mouth.Â
âShit, baby. Your mouth is amazing. Takingâmmphâtaking us both so well.  Y-Your pussyâs so good you shut Munson up.â, he chuckles as his friendâs head hangs absorbing the pleasure while he clings to your thigh for leverage.Â
Biting his bottom lip, calloused fingers play with your nipples as the other boy tilts down a bit more to do the same.Â
âOh, Eddie!â As he leaned over, he brought your leg with him, pushing his cock deeper into your cunt and slamming into buttons you had no idea even existed. âRightâRight there.â
âRight there, princess? OkâŠok, I got you, baby. Daddyâs got you. Fuck.â The title threw you off guard as your pussy gripped him like a vice. âFuck, Y/N. You like that, donât you? Like knowing Daddyâs taking care of you?â
âJesus.â, Steve murmured as you bobbed your head faster around him.Â
Placing his palms flat on the floor to balance himself, the boy above you rolled his hips practically punching the air from your lungs as you choked and spit spilled from your lips.Â
Steve hastily backed away, allowing you catch your breath as your eyes locked with Eddieâs.Â
âSay it, sweetheart. Beg Daddy to make you cum.â
âP-Please, Daddy. Make meâahhhâmake me cum. Oh f-fuck.â
Skin slapping into skin echoed through the room till your back arched and your nails dragged down his bare chest as you came.Â
âJesus H. fucking Christ. W-Where can I cum, Y/N?â
âInsideâŠInside please.â
Dropping your leg to the side, Eddie collapsed on top of you with his hands on either side of your head as he grunted in your ear.Â
âGood girl. Good fucking girl. Mmphâtake my cum, baby. For pussy this good, itâs yours.â
His entire body trembled as his release spilled inside of you, a little chuckle leaving his lips at the feeling of your cunt milking him till he was empty.Â
As soon as he rolled away, Steve was at your side softly kissing your sweaty face.Â
âAre you ready for me, pretty girl?â When you nod, he swiftly wraps his arms around you and spins you around until your giggling on top of him. âYou really are beautiful, Y/N.â
âVery. Your ex is a fucking moron.â, Eddie smirked as he lazily reached out to run his fingers along your leg.Â
Your own palms run along the guitaristâs chest as you take in all of his unseen tattoos that were slightly obscured by the hair on his chest.Â
âI like this one. âJai guru deva, omâ.â, you smile as you point to the words. âI wouldnât expect a man like you to like the Beatles.â
Steveâs own grin grows as he pushes up onto his elbows.Â
âYou really are something, arenât you? Definitely more than whatâs on the surface.â
Your lips kiss his and he cups your face bringing you with him as he lies down flat on his back once more. Feeling movement below you, you both moan as his grinds his hard, leaking cock between your legs.Â
As you reach between your bodies, the two of you watch as you hold onto him and gradually sink down onto his length.Â
âOh my God, Steve.â
âFuck, honey. T-Take your time. We have all night.â
As you slowly roll your hips, his large, gorgeous hands run along your thighs, up your sides, and to your breasts, kneading them in his palms as your own balance against him.
âThere you go, baby. Am Iâmmphâam I deep? Can you feel me right here?â
When his hand pressed on your lower tummy, your head fell back as you whimpered his name and covered it with your own. You found a rhythm as you bounced on top of him, his moans mixing with yours as he watched your body move.
âGod, Y/N, youâre so fucking sexy riding my dick. Thatâs it, baby. Harder.â, he commanded as he spanked your behind causing you to fall forward and hold yourself up with your palms. Tilting towards you, his mouth wrapped around your nipple as his tongue flicked against the bud and he hit your ass again.
âFuck, Steve.â
âThatâs right, pretty girl. Mmmâsay my name like that again.â
âS-SteveâŠpleaseâŠIâmâŠâ
Wrapping his arms around your back, he yanked you flat against his chest and planted his feet into the carpet as he thrust up into you roughly. Fingers threaded through your hair and pressed you to his neck as your lips clung to his skin as he grunted into your ear.Â
Your screams were muffled but he could hear you chanting his name as you came, driving him over the edge as his rhythm faltered and you felt his release coat your quivering walls.Â
You both continued to pant as he rolled you onto your side and a second set of lips tenderly kissed your shoulder.Â
âAre you alright? Do you need anything? Water?â, Eddie asked with a kindness behind his tone that made you smile.Â
âNo, thank you. Iâm alright.â
Nodding, he absently reached behind him and produced a blanket to cover your bodies with while Steve continued to pet your head.Â
âHey, um, I have a gig on Friday in Indianapolis. Would you want to come?â
You giggle at his shyness as his friend grins wide behind you.Â
âI think itâs cute after what we just did, youâre still nervous to talk to me.â
âIâm not nervous to talk to you. Iâm nervousâŠwe wonât hear from you again and I donât know about Ed but Iâd like to get to know you more.â
âI definitely would. Iâm going with him on Friday for a meeting and Iâd love to experience one of his concerts with you. We can all get dinner afterwardsâŠtalk.â
âTruth or dare?â, you ask Eddie as you both softly smile at each other.Â
âTruth.â
âIs it true that I have some demons in my past that may frighten you away from me?â
The man blinks as he takes in your question before leaning down to lightly kiss your lips.Â
âItâs true but it takes a lot to scare me away, sweetheart. Trust me. Weâve got some demons to but weâre learning to deal with them just like you seem to be. Maybe we can even help you.â
âTruth or dare?â, you ask Steve as your turn your attention to him.Â
âTruth, honey.â
âIs it true that this isnât a one-time thing for you both? That you genuinely like me.â
Smiling, his tattooed hand cups your cheek as he gives you a sloppy kiss that makes you laugh.Â
âItâs true. I fell for you the moment you walked into the bar. As soon as I spoke with you I knew Munson would like you to. We donât have to move fast or anything. We can take this as slow as you need to.â
Eddieâs fingers tilt your head his way.
âTruth or dare, Y/N?â
âDare.â, you answer as you bite your bottom lip coyly.Â
âI dare you to stay and give us a chance because we promise you wonât regret it.â

âWhoa, Whoa, Miss Y/L/N! Everythingâs ok!â, the nurse tries to comfort as you jerk up and remove the goggles from your eyes.Â
Glancing around you, you hear the sounds of the other participants crying and talking over one another as they describe what they saw.Â
âOk, let me just check your vitals really quickly and then we can give you another relaxer to calm youââ
âMr. Harrington, WAIT!â, another nurse shouts across the way as the man heatedly stomps away from her to grab Eddieâs sleeve and tug him out of the room.Â
âMr. Harrington! Mr. Munson! Hang on now!â
âMiss Y/L/N, please come back!â
You ignored her as you jumped out of your pod to follow where they were going.Â
âYou said it shouldnât be a fucking problem!â, Steve hissed.
âI didnât think it would but Iâm not a fucking scientist. I havenât physically spoken to you or seen you two years and itâs not like we were the best of friends before that! I figured âother realitiesâ of me would also know what a fucking asshole you are!â, Eddie growled back as he pushed the man away. âI didnât expect it to be like thatâŠâ
âYou two know each other?!â, you angerly whisper causing their heads to jerk your way. âSo much for fucking random. Look, just keep your fucking mouths shut! Iâm not getting kicked out of this thing because you two screwed everything up.â
âExcuse the hell out of me, Miss high and mighty but how is what happened our fault?!â, the pretty boy scolded as he crossed his arms. âHow do you know us?â
âWHAT?!â
His palm promptly slams over your mouth as he pulls you around the corner and shoves you against the wall.Â
âShhhh! Youâre not the only one who needs to be here. Now, Eddie probably appeared because weâve met each other so how do we know you?â
âIâve never seen either of you in my life.â, you answer when he removes his hand. âAnd how do I know you donât know me?â As his eyes scan you from head to toe your own roll. âReally? You are a fucking asshole.â
âIâm not trying to be. I justâŠMy class of people donât usually run into yours.â
âHow do you even know what my class is?â
âI meanâŠâ, he responds, gesturing absently up and down towards you.
âWow. You were such a better person in the other universe. If Iâm so beneath you, how do you know him?â
âLook, itâs none of your fucking business alright? Letâs just chalk that up to being a fluke or something and move on with your lives, hm?â, Eddie intervenes as you and Steve sigh and relent.Â
âMiss Y/L/N! You three need to get back inside so we can take your vitals and prepare for the interview.â, a nurse commands as she points into the room.Â
âY/L/N. As in Michael Y/L/N?â
Without answering, you hurry back inside and fold your arms as you sit back near your pod.
âSo you do know her?â, Eddie whispers as they both slowly enter the room.Â
âUhâŠno. No, I know her last name. You do toâŠOur private school was named after him.â
The long-haired boy blinks as he tries to comprehend the information in front of him.Â
âWait a minute. Why DONâT we know her then? Shouldnât she be like a billionaire or something?â
âI donât fucking know. Just drop it, ok. Like you said, itâs a fluke or something. Letâs just avoid her and avoid each other so we can do this and get outta here.â
18+ONLY, mention of smut, yearning, gender neutral reader but a few pet names are used, alcohol consumption, angst, no Vecna, new crush, star-crossed lovers, strange things happen. Reader and Eddie are over 21.
word count: 1.6k
This a mix of several fic ideas that all blended together somehow. One being a road trip fic where Eddie falls for an older reader that I hope to finish one day, plus something for the Stranger Prompts list. Several of the prompts are used in this, but I wanted to keep them a secret. I wouldn't say this is a hurt/no comfort fic, but there will be a hint of that. It is a hopeful, star-crossed lovers story at its core.

After Eddie pumped a few bucks worth of gas into the tank, he couldnât get across the parking lot to the payphone fast enough. He was sure his heart would explode if he couldnât talk to you again as the few hours of highway seemed to roll out for an eternity.Â
He punched numbers into the metal key pad and then held a hand over his heart, waiting. Just after the second ring, there you were with that voice heâd come to adore with every fiber of his being.
âHey you,â his smile was so big it made his cheeks hurt. âItâs Eddie. Wanted to check in, you know, make sure you made it home okay.â
At the other end, butterflies exploded in your stomach. âHey there stranger,â you ached to reach out and hold him. âI was hoping it would be you.â
He played with the metal cord attaching the receiver to the phone box, tucking his chin so that his next words were mumbled. âWhat would you say if I told you I missed you already?â
He felt as if he no longer existed in this reality, as if time and space and whatever the hell else didnât matter as long as he was connected to you somehow, as long as you were real. The words kept bubbling up in his chest, and if he didnât let them out and tell you how he felt, he might suffocate. Â
You put down the stack of mail you were holding and sat on the nearby chair to calm your buzzing head. âIâd say you got it bad for me, Munson.â
âI think you might be onto something there,â he chuckled, turning his head to make sure no one from the isolated gas station was lurking nearby. âI wish I could kiss you right now.â
âI wish we could do more than that,â you said, grinning.Â
âGlad Iâm not the only one,â he pinched the front of his Megadeth shirt and brought it to his nose. âIâm never gonna wash this shirt ever again, just so you know. It smells like you.â
âI almost kept it,â you started to doodle spirals on the pad in front of you with a red pen.Â
âI wouldâve let you,â he smirked, remembering the way you straddled him in nothing but that shirt in the back of his van for one final quickie before parting ways. The feeling of being inside of you, that sense of completion and connection, would be his main masturbation fodder for the foreseeable future. Â
Holy shit, he was crazy about you.
Having such intense feelings for someone after barely 24 hours of knowing them was not reasonable, he knew that, but he also didnât care. Â
Heâd been on his way home from visiting his friend Ronnie when the storm hit, and some of the roads were blocked off due to flooding. The rain crashed down all night, lightning cracked the sky, and all he could think of as your bodies writhed tangled and sweaty, was that he could die a happy man. Â
He called Gareth that night, told him he wouldnât make it to practice, and decided to slink into a dark bar for a beer. There you were, looking all sorts of futuristic and out of place. You had a device in your hand that resembled something out of Star Trek, but you said it didnât work, that it was âdeadâ and you couldnât find your âchargerâ. You fascinated the fuck out of him. He asked if you were an alien, and without missing a beat, you responded, âwould that be a problem?â
Not at all, sweetheart. Not. At. All.
âI kinda want to get in my car and race back to you,â you spoke softly.
Eddie tilted his head back and closed his eyes. âMan, thatâs all I could think about the whole way was turning around. I feel like I left my heart on the road back there.â
âIâll keep it safe,â you whispered, making his entire body shiver with longing.
âWhen can I see you again? I mean, when do you thinkâŠshould I come to you orââ
The automatic operatorâs voice cut him off, asking him to deposit 25 cents.
âAre you calling me from a payphone?â You sounded astonished. âI didnât even know those things existed anymore.â
âTheyâre all over the place, sweetheart,â he huffed, distracted with searching his denim pockets for change. âNot all of us have strange little pocket calculator things we speak into.â
âI love an old school man.â
Hearing the word âloveâ roll off your tongue in relation to him made him want to reach out and take you in his arms so bad he could scream. Â
âHey, I left all my change in the van, this is going to cut me off, but Iâll call you when I get home, yeah?â
âPlease do, I donât care how late it is.â
âOkay I will, and alsoââ
But then the line went dead.
You pulled your iPhone away from your cheek and stared at the screen with a sad frown. You hoped that one day heâd let you bring him up to speed with the age of technology. Until then, you found it charming as fuck that he didnât own a cellphone, and loved to act oblivious to anything involving computers.Â
You had your cell charging on the countertop when one of your friends texted you a few minutes later, demanding the details of the mystery man whoâd swept you off your feet in some dive bar out in the boonies. Â
Usually, you avoided one night stands at all costs. You had to care very deeply about someone in order to be intimate with them, and for some reason, you felt bonded to Eddie after the first hour. It was thrilling, but also scary and uncomfortable all at once.Â
âWhat happened to the dude you were supposed to meet there?â Your friend Tina asked. âThe one from the dating app?â
âOh, he never showed,â you chuckled, thinking that youâd totally forgotten why youâd driven almost two hours away to another town in the first place. âBut it was for the best. If he hadnât ghosted, I never would have met Eddie.â
âWhat was the name of the bar again?â She asked after you dished all of the details on your new crush.
âWait, I think I have one of their matchbooks in my bagââ you dug around, finally holding it out in front of you. âI guess itâs called The Upside Down? Never heard of it before, but the address was correct, Iâm sure of it. My GPS was acting weird, so who knows.â
The bar hadnât been updated since the 70âs, it seemed. Wood paneling, sticky tables, peanut shells on the floor, and one of those vintage jukeboxes that played nothing but oldies. Eddie remarked that it reminded him a lot of one of the bars he did gigs at with his band.
Corroded Coffin, you doodled the name down, reminding yourself to google it later. Eddie said he wasnât on social media, and pretended not to know what it even was. Just one more quirk of his that charmed you to death and made you smile to yourself.
You fell asleep on the couch that night with the phone on your chest, and woke up the next morning with a kink in your neck and a dry mouth.
Nothing from Eddie, not even a missed call. Â
Maybe he got in late and didnât want to wake you. It was almost 9:00 in the morning when you tried the number heâd given you for his uncleâs place. Â
The number had been disconnected or was no longer in service. Â
Panic swelling in your throat, you scrolled back to the number of the payphone heâd called you from.Â
Also not in service.
Glassy eyed, you sat up and stared at the wall for a long time.
Soon after, you wiped away frustrated tears and got on the internet to search.
âThat canât be right,â you whispered at the screen, looking at a photo of Corroded Coffin at a bar called The Hideout in 1985. Eddie Munson, graduate of Hawkins High in 1986.
You swallowed thickly, shaking your head.
Zooming in on the few photos you found, you couldnât help but notice the insane similarities between your Eddie, and 1980âs Eddie. The one you knew was maybe a few years older, but that was definitely him.
Could it be a relative? No.
All of the odd conversations youâd had that night began to click together. Had his perplexity with the idea of you carrying a phone been legit? You figured he was just being silly. Â
There wasnât much you could find about him, but one final news snippet caught your eye:
â....Hawkins native and Corroded Coffin frontman Eddie Munson has not been seen or heard from since the fall of â89 after leaving a cryptic note for his uncle, Wayne Munson. âHe had a bunch of letters he wanted me to pass out to his friends,â Wayne explained. âHe said he hoped that he would be able to come back to Hawkins, but he wasnât sure how it all âworkedâ. That he loved me, but he had to go and find someone.â
You gulped, tears rolling hot down your cheeks.
âHe went back,â you sniffed, choking on a sob. âHe went back to find me, heâŠâ
You trailed off, looking up at the clock, and then over to your car keys on the table.
What if Eddie circled back to find you and you werenât there? What if that bar youâd met at never even existed?
But Eddie, he was real, and he was coming for you.
You left a note too, texted Tina, and then you were on the road again.
