Since my posts have been gaining traction recently, I might as well introduce myself. To anyone new here…

Hello everyone! My name is Aldryx Thetahart, and I’m a 20 y/o nonbinary!

This blog is where I’ll be posting my Trigun ramblings, artwork, and just general stuff about my life. Some things I’ll be posting about on here are:

I mostly post about Trigun, but I also post about spiders and my artwork. I tag my art and random life posts under #aldryx rambles and #aldryx doodles. I’ll try to answer asks, but it might take me a little while.

Some quick boundaries and TWs for anyone who comes onto here:

- I do not wish to engage with inc3st shipping or content. I know what my limits are, and this is one of them.

- I am not looking for any kind of religion or spiritual guidance. I’m still deconstructing from the last one I was in.

- I will be posting pictures of my several pet spiders, so arachnophobes be warned. I add an arachnophobia TW under all my spider posts, so I trust you guys to filter for those tags.

Volume 11 yapping (finally)

I love how conflicted the feelings between Vash and Livio are at this moment in the manga. Vash has just met this man, more brutal and bloody than any human he’s ever known aside from Legato Bluesummers himself, the same man who was partially responsible for the death of essentially his soulmate… And he chose to trust that he wouldn’t harm him while he slept.

Meanwhile, Livio is also reeling from the loss, and probably thinks Vash couldn’t POSSIBLY trust him farther than he could throw him… ONLY to learn that this guy, stupidly, *naively* trusted HIM not to kill him.

I don’t doubt that Vash has only positive feelings about Livio. In fact, I think deep down, he’s a bit resentful of Livio. How could he not be after the trauma they’ve both experienced? Regardless, Livio is trying to become a better man. That isn’t something Vash wants to see squandered, so his own grief and anger be damned (as per usual), he’s going to let Livio be the man his brother would have wanted him to be.

…It’s what he would have wanted.

Volume 10 yapping, pt. 5 of 6…

He threw his gun. He THREW AWAY HIS GUN… Just to catch Wolfwood.

In this moment, Vash is thinking about everything, and just how special Wolfwood is to him, and for the FIRST TIME IN YEARS, he allows himself to want something. One thing, all he wants is one thing for himself, ONE selfish, human desire…

And that desire is for Wolfwood to be by his side forever.

But it’s already too late. It was already too late the second Vash got there… The second Vash confesses to himself that he wanted to stay with Wolfwood forever, he can literally feel Wolfwood slipping away from him… He was never going to be able to keep him.

He knew. He knew, one day he would lose Wolfwood forever… He just wasn’t expecting that day to come so soon.

Volume 10 yapping, pt. 4 of 6…

I read this manga back in 2023. I have reread it almost 10 times since then, and even after all this time, I haven’t stopped thinking about this scene.

During my 4th-5th reread, I noticed something: Wolfwood only takes two vials AFTER Vash shows up. Until then, he only has it in his mouth. Why?

It’s only AFTER he knows Vash is there that he bites through and gulps down the medicine. I keep wondering, why did he wait until Vash was there? And then I had this thought…

Wolfwood sees Vash as a divine being, almost a stand-in for God. He’s also notably been afraid of death for this entire series… But Vash has always been there to fall back upon when he’s facing death, and now it seems he’s willingly chosen to face the Reaper head-on. But he only chooses this AFTER he’s certain Vash is there to back him up.

When Vash is with him, he has nothing to fear.

Not even what’s coming next.

Volume 10 yapping, pt. 3 of 6…

Vash isn’t even supposed to BE here. He’s got much bigger things to deal with, he should be fighting Knives. For God’s sake, he should be off saving the world right now, why should he care for the sake of this tiny place in the middle of nowhere? Compared to the rest of the world, who cares about the Orphanage?

And yet… Here he is. Once again, Nicholas’s prayers have been answered, and Vash refuses to abandon him to his fate, because to Vash, right now he IS saving his whole world.

Once again, just when Nicholas is facing death, his guardian angel is here for him.

Volume 10 yapping, Pt. 2 of 6…

This string of pages here kills me every run I reread this series. He’s spent *so long* away from home, terrified of tainting those he loves with the ugliness of what his life has become, and now here he is, dragged out in front of them with all his sins laid bare. He struggles to keep them from seeing his face, but it’s no use. It’s coming soon, he KNOWS it is, any second now the screaming is going to come, the anger, the disgust, the disappointment…

…But as he looks into the face of his caregiver again, he’s not met with anger. Maybe some disappointment, but not the kind he expected. This is the kind of disappointment born of love, and want for someone to have had better.

And suddenly, he’s a little kid again, being lectured by his mother.

Volume 10 yapping, part one of 6…

Saint Peter was a close friend of Christ. One of the most loyal few he asked to come with him to the Garden of Gethsemane, where he cut a man’s ear off to protect him. He betrayed Christ, but was forgiven and restored after the resurrection.

Saint Peter was also crucified upside down.

The dialogue here, paired with the fact that multiple people atp have *almost* recognized him… He’s not gone, he’s FINALLY back home, but no one knows, so does it change anything?

On a similar note, it’s also saddening to me that the only one here who knows that it’s Nicholas is Livio, the other lost boy.

Volume 8 yapping…

This panel never fails to make me emotional. Wolfwood cries out to God on the cusp of death, certain he is going to die in vain here… And Vash shelters him, and declares him justified. I’m certain that Vash is shown in his angelic form here on purpose.

Wolfwood prays for salvation, and God in his mercy has sent him an angel who will never forsake him.
