âWell, what do you think?â
Sherlock could only stare agape.
Molly, on the other hand, didnât miss a beat. She turned to and fro in front of the mirror in the dressing room hallway, examining the dress from as many angles as possible.
âLook, if youâre going to track me down in the middle of a shopping trip when Iâm trying to find the perfect dress for the hospitalâs dinner cruise, youâre going to have to help me out. We can talk about the case work after Iâm done.â
He managed to close his mouth and swallow thickly, but his jaw soon dropped once again as she swiveled round giving him a very close up view of the entire back.
âHair up, do you think?â Molly questioned over her shoulder. âI mean, with the backless design I figure I might as well-â
âH-hair up,â he stuttered in soft confirmation. âDefinitely.â
She took one more look, hands on her hips as she examined the whole thing silently for a long moment.
âOk, yeah, I think this is the one,â she finally announced with a little smile, then swept back behind the curtain again as she continued talking. âSo what was it that you wanted to ask me about?â
By that point he honestly couldnât remember. He didnât really even care to try remembering either. Heâd just had some much needed sense slapped into him, and he wasnât going to be fool enough to ignore it.
âFunny thing, actually,â Sherlock began slowly, standing to pace just outside where he could see her little feet below the curtain. âItâs- itâs actually about that dinner cruiseâŚâ
