A little work break post: I drew a cover and colored edges for the Machaon publishing house. This was a total experiment for me, since both the budget constraints and the theme are completely outside my usual style (I swear, I need to make a "commissions I get vs. what I actually draw" meme, it’ll be exactly like that goth crow and pastel bird meme lol). BUT! I was super curious to try doing something Art Nouveau and pastel. Plus, it’s a nice change of pace, and well… it’s Machaon!I’ve known their books with the little butterfly on the spine since childhood; I definitely had their Ali Baba book on my shelf. And yet, here we are! Overall, it’s giving Miyazaki and steampunk vibes. You can check out the sketches and work-in-progress stages on Patreon. On the back cover, there’s Nix. Apparently, he's a sinister water spirit living in the canals of the Neva River, since the illustration features St. Petersburg. So stay safe and don't fall into the rivers!
