"It takes a village to raise a child". As wonderful as my own mother has been, she was not the only mother influence in my life. Mothers come in all shapes and sizes, and from all different places. There is the bond that comes from birthing and raising a child, but other bonds are also created, and those influences can have lasting affects on your life. I learned the power of hard work from the woman who owned the stable I worked at. I learned how to listen and support others from my friend's mother. I learned that you can scream at your husband and still love him from the woman who taught me how to ride. I learned how to be a friend from my sister. I learned how to shake off bullies and how to put others first from my other sister. I learned etiquette and formal table manners from our sorority house mother. My Mom taught me a thousand other things. She gave me my gift to write, along with the inspiration and courage to do so. She has given me unconditional support my entire life. She taught me that women can do anything and to listen to my gut and to be strong. I could fill pages with the things I have learned from her and the other mothers in my life. Some were only present for a year or so. Some have been around my entire life. All of them changed my life in one way or another. Happy Mothers Day. To all of you. You may be changing someone's life and not even know it. So many women changed mine.

Today marks my eleventh release day. That's a crazy thought, that I have been through this whirlwind that many times in just three and a half years. Every one of my book babies are different, and each of their releases brings forth a different set of expectations and emotions.
