@alex-sunstrike asked me to update this old commission I did with some new details.  I always enjoy drawing Alexandyr so it was fun to revisit this one.  (Decided to do a cloaked version because cloaks are cool, too.)

Sylphrena withdrew the blade from the body, the woman's face contorted between a mixture of fear and disgust. She had attempted to bargain, like most of the people who had escaped justice and thought they could get away with it. The xaela watched her collapse into the dirt, pity clinging to her face like the tears that still flowed.

The raging torrent of emotion threatened to overwhelm her, like it always did when she used her powers. The aether clung to her body almost like a flame, and it would have subsided, if not for the second body laying face down in the dirt. Sylphrena's grip on her sword weak as she took hesitant steps towards the small frame of the child, the edge dragging in the dirt before striking a bloody rock. Sylphrena let Sigaardír fall from her grasp, a dull ring calling out as it hit the ground.

She fell to her knees as she reached the boy, cradling his broken body in her arms as she sobbed. Black hair matted with blood covered his face, and the woman gently pushed it aside to stare into his empty eyes. The child could have been no older than ten summers, and as she traced the black scales that marked him Xaela, Sylphrena found herself glaring back at the woman she had killed. Sigaardír had felt the legacy of Ratatoskr in the dead woman, and her target had made sense. But Sylphrena had failed this child. She had not stopped the Ishgardian from harming another innocent. She looked back at the boy, hand trembling as she closed his eyes, her tears falling onto his cheeks.

Pain and anguish rose within the woman and as they did, her aether began to rage. Sylphrena reared her head back, screaming as the shroud exploded violently outward, kicking up a cloud of dust that hung around her. She set the boy aside gently, before pushing heself back to her feet, knees weak.

The night was young yet, and Sylphrena had much to do.

Hi, gang!  Pyra! here wanting to say THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our grand re-opening of the Apothecarium.  The FC was so incredibly pleased as they were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of people who arrived and shopped at the store.  We met an incredibly large amount of folks - a lot of which who were new that helped to create an incredible atmosphere and fun event.

This month, we also introduced Alec Torrent’s Textiles & Imports - a new shop that focuses on weapons, armor, repairs and more!  Not only did this help bring new interest into the store, but generate new RP opportunities as well as work for our FC’s omnicrafters!  In addition to this, we also added an eatery upstairs for our customers to shop ‘n’ snack.  The eatery was serviced by the awesome Caudecus Patenaude ( @rhapsodical-bookeeper) who will be arranging a new menu, so please visit him again for his special selection of tasty treats and coffee! 

Next month, we are looking to create a full-fledged online catalog so returning and new customers can see all that our shop has to offer, both for RP and for FC crafters to contribute.  (And we will most certainly try to get Tarot Master Desbaros to return!)  We are definitely looking forward to the next open market soiree (and hope we’ll have more staff on hand this time!)
