Alexa-May was always going to be a meal ticket for Sadie Dutton. The moment she was born, everything in their world was about looks and looks only. Sadie was a victim of the harsh societal expectations on women’s physical appearance, but instead of breaking the trauma, she passed it right onto Alexa. As soon as the little girl could walk, Alexa was forced into pageants and her mother lived precariously through her.

Growing up on Southside of Lockwood Springs didn’t  fit the delusions the Duttons had for themselves. As a result, Lexi always thought she was better than Southside and her peers in Edison High School. Sadie tried to move them up in the world by only dating men for their wallets, but nothing ever lasted and Alexa witnessed plenty of her mother’s turbulent relationships.

After winning Miss Colorado Teen in 2012, things finally looked up for Alexa-May and her mother, who was always reaping the benefits of anything her daughter did. Accepted for financial aid, Alexa-May began her new life at Walcott and finally saw how the other half lived. Her mother and her kissed goodbye to Southside and said hello to Downtown,  which was a welcomed escape even if it was only temporary.

Nobody can ever accuse Alexa-May of being impatient, no matter how many tantrums she has. Because with Noah St. James she waited until the perfect time to strike. The scandal with Lily’s competition only helped her mission after Lily and Noah’s relationship ended. Alexa-May swooped in on him, first as a shoulder to cry on and convinced she would have him forgetting Liliana in no time at all.

It wasn’t to be, even though Alexa finally earned girlfriend status with the St. James, he was hung up and emotionally stunted. Their relationship followed a similar pattern that Alexa had seen before. Arguing, disinterest, and definitely a few wandering eyes and hands on her part. One of those people her hands reached to was Kasen Morrison, who she knew from Southside but he reminded her of everything she hated about her childhood.

Eventually things with Noah came to an end and so did the decent pay checks from her pageants and sponsors, causing Alexa and Sadie to pack up and head back to Southside with their heads hanging low. Alexa had no choice but to accept that Southside seems to always be calling her, along with Kasen Morrison. She keeps going back, only to raise hell and find he has been calling plenty of other women too. She’s becoming just like her mother, no matter how much she tries to fight it.

Noah glances up from his phone at the sudden interruption, blinking at Lexi. Well, it was bound to happen at some point. Lockwood isn’t the biggest city and Ambrosia is pretty popular. But that doesn’t mean he’s not surprised to see his ex sitting across the table from him. “…I can pay for my coffee, Lexi,” he says, not unkindly as he pushes the money back to her. “Injured, not broke.” And honestly, he’s not a fan of owing people anything. Especially not her. He tries not to regret much but with enough hindsight, he thinks dating her was a mistake he could’ve done without. Sure, she was a good lay for a time, but the crazy outweighed any fuckability and tits or no tits, Noah’s pretty sure he got a limp dick seeing her the weeks leading up to when he broke up with her. “Nah, no rough days. Just talking to Haze about some sit in thing,” he says with a shrug, taking a sip of his coffee and gesturing to the money. “I mean it. I’m good. Keep it for your tip or something.” It makes no difference to him other than the possibility that she did just that and left his table. “Just…drinking my coffee. I didn’t know you worked here, actually.” It would suck to have to find a new coffee shop but Lily came here too and now he’s wondering if she’d see them talking, the thought making him shift in his seat a bit.

                          Lexi’s laughter was forced immediately, as if Noah and her didn’t have a sour history. “I’m not saying you can’t, I know you’re a capable man, Noah. I just wanted to be nice, you know? Call it an olive branch, then?” she smiled at him as her hand brushed over his, pretending to reach for the money at the same time as he did. It was a short pause before she pulled back again to force an awkward laugh. Her eyes worked to look over him, every attempt to read the thoughts going on inside his head. He obviously still thought she was hot, that was an obvious one but she could sense a hint of remorse. He realized he fucked up? Good. But it was no worry, she was right there. “Sounds fun. How is Haze these days? I’ve not spoken to her for a while. She was so fun to hang out with.” Lexi asked, despite the other St. James not being her biggest fan. Jealousy probably, a hot Sister in Law wasn’t an easy thing to accept was going to happen. “It’s a temporary thing, just to pass the time. I’m modeling on the side too, actually you’d totally love the last shoot I did.” Paid for by herself. “A bikini line wanted me, because like...I fill them so good. Wanna see?” she already had her phone out, smiling up at him.

If voices could shatter glass, it’d be Alexa’s impressive lung capacity. Kas just scrunched his face from the pain of the banshee wailing coming from such a small thing but there was only so long he could keep his cool. “Do you fucking hear how crazy you sound!? Just take a fucking second and listen to yourself, you dumb fucking bitch. I said LEXI.” he yelled over her, turning his attention to get himself dressed and find his cigarettes because he vaguely remembered hearing the tin go flying somewhere back when the mood was actually enjoyable. “Oh will you? You’re gonna set fire to our trailer, Lex? Is that what you’re gonna do?” he mocked her bitterly, taking a few steps towards her once his jeans were on. “You keep saying you’re going to fucking leave so why the fuck am I still looking at your fucking face right now? Fuck OFF. There’s the fucking door, babe. Works just like any other.” he pointed out childishly, raising his voice again despite knowing that fighting fire with fire would only spur Lexi on.

                         “What did you just call me!?” It was the first time Lexi’s voice smoothed itself into a cooler tone while she took a few cautionary steps towards Kas. “I’m the stupid bitch? At least I can keep track off the people I FUCK, Kas.” Lexi was mountains taller and dripping in gold in comparison to Kasen fucking Morrison. She was all powerful, all seeing, all knowing. “Do you wanna fucking find out!?” she mocked back at him, seething through a smile. The calmness didn’t stick around for long because as he yelled, she yelled back while marching to make her exit. “You need to fucking realize how unimportant you actually are, Kas. Half of us only fuck you because we know it’s guaranteed. You’re EASY.” Lexi’s voice carried as left the trailer, slamming the door hard enough to cause a rattle behind her.

Somebody needed to move out of this trailer and Jaime knew he wasn’t alone in thinking that somebody should be Kas. For some reason their oldest brother seemed to enjoy chaos and even though Jai didn’t dislike Lexi…the girl was a fucking mess. “Alright, okay. We can find it…” he tried to calm her down but honestly, he was confused how she even got inside and it was terrifying to think she could simply appear whenever she wanted. He took a few cautious steps towards her, like he was gaining on a predator in the wild Steve Irwin style. Knowing Jai’s luck, Lexi would be the fucking sting-ray. He took a look at the mess in Kas’ room and immediately made a face. “I’ll be honest Lex, I really don’t wanna go in there or…touch anything.” he admitted, not even a million bucks would convince him. “How about…I get us…weed? Weed!? You wanna smoke? Maybe…I don’t know, we still got some beer? And then after…you can try looking again or just…I can tell Kas? When he gets back?”

                             Lexi disappeared into Kas’ bedroom again with nothing but evil intent as she upturned everything that was already strewn across the floor. It was for her earring though, obviously. Who would even care if Kas said another name? It wasn’t like he fucking mattered but the disrespect fucking mattered. She was better than other women. She was fucking better than him. "If you’re not going to help then can you FUCK OFF SO I CAN FUCKING THINK?” she screeched at the top of her lungs again as she spun to Jai but then the anger sent her into an orbit she couldn’t ground herself from. Lexi’s lungs filled with air which then acted as a projectile for her primal shriek. “I DON’T FUCKING SMOKE WEED, JAIME BECAUSE I’M NOT FUCKING MENTALLY ILL AND I DON’T WANT TO STINK LIKE SHIT, GOD YOU’RE SO FUCKING STUPID!”

They barely kept in contact when Bunny did her little disappearing act to California, but now both her and Alexa were Southside residents again, it seemed they had more in common than ever before. Bunny didn’t particularly like her very much but they had more similarities than differences. “Lucy?” she tried to fight the smile that broke out on her face before forcing her expression to remain serious. “That’s disgusting. Honestly, I don’t know why you even bother. It’s not like Kas Morrison’s dick is covered in gold, or makes you suddenly choose the winning lottery numbers.” she shrugged. “It’s going to be the last time, right? Right, Lexi!?”

                           How could one begin to explain the delicacies of friendships with other women? They didn’t hold importance to Alexa, who was driven by a mean competitive streak that innately saw other women as a threat. The need for validation from men was just as strong and only furthered the venom she could spit to other women, even through no fault of their own. “It’s not about going back to him, Bunny.” she belittled her, thinking she had explained herself plenty of times but nobody seemed to understand. Kas filled a void that was left in her when she lost to another woman, and now he became a trophy by complete accident. Triggering all of her nervous system when she lost again and again to the gutter rats he also took home. “It’s about the fact he’s a piece of shit, and doesn’t realize I’m worth like ten of him. Like please!? I was Miss Colorado Teen in 2012! And he’s what? The most someone has ever wanted him is a fucking warrant or something.”

                             She’d been too nervous to take his order herself, so Alexa hid in the back room until she was convinced Noah was settled at his table. Without any greeting, she slipped opposite him and tapped the receipt she slid towards him along with the not legitimate money-back she got from the register. “Covered it for ya. On the house.” she smiled sweetly, resting her elbows on the table and then her chin into the back of her hands. He was probably over Liliana now, right? No girl could have a hold on somebody for that long. She hadn’t won anything in her life, just a silver medal...that wasn’t impressive. Lexi was Miss Colorado Teen, for Christ Sake. And maybe, Noah had forgotten all of their arguments too. Everyone said things out of anger, right? “You look super deep in thought so I figured you might’ve had a rough day so...you’re welcome.” she tapped the receipt again, giving her best smile. “What’s up? I for sure don’t miss those St. James grumpy moods.” she forced a light laugh.

“No.” Kas answered her abruptly both annoyed and in protest, trying to make the most of her bare breasts in his face before she moved away. “I said Lexi!” he then claimed, but truthfully he had no idea what he said. “How many Lucy’s you know with triple D’s, Lex? How the fuck would I get those confused?” It was worth a shot, right? Maybe she’d fall for it and she wouldn’t do the painful shriek she always did whenever she got pissed off. Nope, there it was. “Yeah, yeah. Hate me so much you’re always fucking over here.” Kas already moved from the bed to fight with his boxers and slide them back on. He didn’t react to the yelling, just shut his eyes and took a breath before he hooked her dress up with a finger and threw it at here. “Here’s your knock-off fucking Gucci.” he snapped. “You know how nice it’d be if you had a mute button? Just even if it was timed, it’d be so fucking nice.”

                             “Oh my God, you’re a fucking animal!” Lexi bawled, grabbing her dress that he threw at her and holding it up slightly.  “You called me, Kas.” It didn’t mean she had to go, but that was the exact reason why she was so confused. She couldn’t have the important names anymore, so Kas had to do. “I wouldn’t wear FUCKING GUCCI TO COME AND FUCK YOU, KAS. I’M NOT A FUCKING DESPERATE WHORE.” Lexi screamed again but she wouldn’t wear Gucci anywhere, technically, considering she didn’t own any genuine brands. Her voice dropped low again from the yelling but there was utter contentment in her quietness and expression. “You know how nice it’d be if you weren’t a fucking asshole!?” She moved to her feet to slide on the dress quickly, her back to him until she could spin around and leave his room. “If you call me a-fucking gain after this, I’m going SET YOUR FUCKING TRAILER ON FIRE AND EVERYONE IN FUCKING SIDE IT.”

Willow was only stopping by to pick up some recreational substances from one of the local blonde peddlers. She wanted to go dancing, but she also wanted to feel good while doing so without a care in the world. Or a fuck to give about anyone it, minus her amazing family of course. The plan was fully interrupted when she walked in only to spot Alexa Dutton being her usual hoe-bag self. “Oh my god, look it’s Alexa Dutton. I almost didn’t recognize her without the tiara and ball gown.” Willow loudly mocked a valley girl tone, and giggled with an acquaintance from high school. “Don’t act like you didn’t see me, bitch.” She sneered and glared at her as she walked by. Willow wasn’t normally the bitchy type, she got labeled a hippie for a reason. But if there was one thing she couldn’t stand, it was people who thought they were better than everyone else. That and her embarrassing but, very real jealousy over any girl Kas paid attention to that wasn’t her. “Surprised to see you slumming it out here with us commoners. If you’re looking for a sugar daddy, you came to the wrong place.”

                         Girl world was a very real and dangerous place. Alexa had seen it all, best friends backstab, sisters sabotage. It all happened and solidified the very thing Alexa’s mother always taught her. Other women were the enemy. Being second place to any woman was embarrassing. When it was all said and done, Alexa didn’t have an ounce of love for Kas Morrison. He started as a convenience to numb the pain of Noah St. James’ puppy dog eyes at Liliana, then he turned into an inconvenience. His obvious games made Alexa second place to other women. The very thing that was not allowed.“Sorry, I was wondering who had cabbage breath. Did someone brush their teeth with compost?” Lexi turned to the other women. The enemy. Just because those were the rules. In girl world, you did it all with a smile and Lexi quickly laughed in forced confusion. “I have no idea what your issue is, Willow. Did Charles Manson fuck around with your head?” she tilted hers to the side then, twirling the straw in her glass and fighting the temptation to throw the contents over her. But people were watching so, Lexi needed to stay composed. For now. “What the hell is your problem, Willow? Just say it, I’m sure we all wanna know.”

“It’s me!” Jaime yelled in panic as something, he wasn’t sure what, went hurtling over his head. Him and Kas were very different people but this was now the second time one of Kas’..girlfriends? Flings? Got him instead. “Jesus Christ, Lexi.” he sighed as soon as he saw the blond, not surprised in the slightest that it was her throwing shit around the trailer. “How did you even get in? Do you all text each other about when Kas is out or something to come fucking vandalize us? Other people live here too.” Don’t get angry, this was about Kas nothing personal. He took a deep breath, running a hand over his face. “Can you get out? I don’t know what he did but it’s probably typical Kas, so…let’s stop acting surprised. Right?”

                         Yeah, she did think Kas was coming back in the trailer and she did throw an ashtray in the general direction of the door. So fucking what. She didn’t want him to know the window didn’t latch properly because then it’d get fixed, and she wouldn’t be able to keep showing up. “Oh my GOD, IT’S NOT ABOUT KAS, JAIME. NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT FUCKING KAS.” she screamed at the innocent brother, who honestly was pretty kind to her and always had been. “I LEFT...I dropped...IT FUCKING FELL SOMEWHERE, MY FUCKING CHANEL EARRING.” she gasped through angry tears, pointing at the pigstye of Kas’ bedroom that was all her doing. Yes, she even ripped down some Miss America posters from his wall too. So what, the bitches were gross. “Can you help me instead of talking to me like I’m a fucking idiot!? So I can FUCKING LEAVE!?”

That had NEVER happened before and no, she’d never admit she sometimes heard Noah St. James mispronounce her name either. Men were fucking pigs. “Give me my fucking dress, where did you throw it!?” she yelled then, trying to move from the bed and keep her modesty at the same time. Not that it meant much now, but it did. “I fucking hate you, you know that? Sack of shit.” her voice hit another octave up before it fell into a shrieking yell. “MAYBE GO AND FUCKING SEE HOW LUCY IS DOING YOU FUCKING HILLBILLY FUCK.”
