Pretty sure there’s nowhere else i’d rather be right now.
Living through my first blizzard at a ski lodge is like picture perfect. I sent a picture to my parents and they freaked out a little thinking I’m going to die.
A ski lodge is the place to be in a blizzard. Think of all the fresh snow you’re going to get to claim as soon as the weather calms down.
We have a few ‘age-outs’ staying at the center this week, so of course with the storm I had to trek out and make sure that they, and everyone else at the center, was okay. Somehow, they managed to talk me into the most epic snow fight of the decade. It lasted for hours, and even though I might have actually turned into an icicle, it was worth it to see those kids actually get to be kids.
I cannot feel my toes, or my face– or my nose. With the storm, there was no way I’d open my restaurant today. So what is one to do? Obviously, have snowball fights in Central Park with your coworkers and their kids. I am now part icicle
I have been where you are. Snowball fights, freezing aside, are freaking amazing. Even I can admit that.
My plans for this snow day? Lay in my hotel room and listen to sad songs by British singer/songwriters, drinking coffee, and plotting Micah’s demise as I dream of Australia. I may order room service, but only so I can watch a few hours of intense Netflixing. My plans are better than yours, don’t convince yourself otherwise.
Keep dreaming about Australia until you actually make it there because it’s one of those can’t miss places to visit. My plans though, my plans win hands down.
Can you make yourself into icecream now?
By this point? I can.
Give it some time, you’ll get used to it. Or you’ll freeze to death.
I grew up in Boulder, I’m mostly used to it. Doesn’t mean I have to like it.
That would be impressive though… I mean, a resurrection would be somethin’ to see.
If anyone can pull it off, it’d be my mother.
Fuck the snow, I am releasing a book.

It can’t say that because then my mother will know. And she’d probably bring me back from the dead just to murder me for being stupid.
The best thing I ever bought was a rolling tray for my bathtub, I can be online, take a hot bath, drink tea, and eat my dinner all in one place without worrying about anything. I suggest everyone get one of these, pronto.
You should add that you can avoid coming over to keep Alex from freezing to death with it too. Because I’m an icicle now. Only my fingers work and you’re solely to blame.
