One thing Iâve been thinking a lot about lately is how little pure collaboration Iâve done in music. I get stuck in my own head about music a lot, which is great when youâre the captain of the ship. But thereâs only so much inspiration I can feed off myself to sustain what I want to keep doing. Having just released an EP 3 years in the making I definitely have no intention of stopping any time soon, let alone the fact I have too much music to finish to be worried about the well running dry. But itâs good to get outside your own head a little bit and see whatâs out there. I have plenty of conversations with people about music on a daily basis, and although we talk about the music that inspires us so much, we never seem to go any further about letting anyone else into the process. I write songs then I show them to my band, half the time I donât know what I want and Iâm searching and the other half I know exactly what I want to the point where anything less than exactly that will drive me insane. And I never really got to be in a band, or at least what I thought bands were. They mean a lot of different things to different people. I spend plenty of time writing songs and seeing other musicians play but thereâs a disconnection sometimes. So from the successes of recent projects with @sturtavenue and a few others, this is a word out to anyone who wants to collaborate! Whether itâs songwriting, lyrics, guitar stuff, mixing, engineering, producing, anything! Iâm open to anything creative and artistic so please donât hesitate to message me about how we can collaborate together on something!
