I almost got overwhelmed by the idea of painting an entire horse, but then I had a ✨ V I S I O N ✨ and I dreamt of malachite calling to me like a siren in the night. I had to, ofc, oblige 👁️👁️👁️
My favorite builds revolve around this powerhouse of a titaness, Apollo, Aphrodite and Hephaestus. A rag tag team of pure dps~ Also tbh I'd love Selene even if she gave iffy boons, her design is top tier 😌👌

This piece is a revamp of a very old Chii piece from back in 2011... I kept some details about it, mainly the lace and upgraded pretty much everything else :D
Always a pleasure to revisit my old fandoms 😭. Chobits, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles and, most of all xxxHolic, from Clamp were strong influences for developing my style early on. I remember pouring hours into details and watching any and all interviews and articles on how they did their works in hopes to unlock their... secrets 👁️ Did y'all kno they used to draw smaller than the print size to save time? Que me trying to draw microscopic details 👁️👁️👁️🔍

The feminine urge to draw a horned goddess~

There's smth about nature overtaking man made structures that appeals to me. This was interesting to paint, rather than try to make it 100% look like the original shape wise I went with a lot of color shifts/contrast and simple shapes to create depth.
Meanwhile I’ve been on a journey in the past year of cleaning up my wip folder. I’ve decided some pieces are better written off as “practice”, “sketch” and even “maybe one day”. In a way I’ve giving myself permission to stop chasing my own tail and just do what I enjoy in the moment. If the moment passes then it’s a natual occurance and I should not force myself to finish smth I’ve lost wonder and passion in. It’s freeing and amusing, takes us so many years to reprogram our mentalities when it comes to things like this, but, again, I find it’s for the better. Hoping to evolve this into an even healthier relationship as time goes~
Ngl I am very proud of that fence shading right there. It just looks right 😭👌 With each study like this I make, it becomes abundantly clear to me how relaxing and fulfilling it is to draw nature. Don't get me wrong, I love drawing humans, I love doing abstract skin colors, yet the pressure of making it "look good" is higher there. While with nature it is more forgiving. Didn't paint that leaf exactly the same? No worries, is that tree crooked? Totally intended etc. Moving forward my goal will be to take this mindset into drawing/painting humans while ofc also keeping in mind proper anatomy.

Yes. I am aware I accidentally drew Mistique. I am that cool v_v Playing with cool tone color pallets and some soft color blocking. I noticed tendancy in my pieces to color block and use quite limited pallets. With this piece (and a few more) I wanted to push that a bit more and use only 2 tubes of paint (ok ok 3 with white.) Sadly I can't show you the full painting here, but if you wanna see them w/o those STUNNING star patch thingies you can check out the link in my bio
I am so sorry @loish I couldn't resist the doubty outty thing 😭. I think this is the first dtiys challenge I ever start the day of and finish it quick. Also nice touch with the beta fish in the painting, it was my muse v_v, lil swoopy nugget. *decends into critical role/dnd universe(s)* C'ya~
