Hey before I discovered your tumblr I didn't know that there are different kind of circumcision. Mine is low and tight and I have no frenulum. Could you explain what the difference between my type of circumcision and the other ?
So circumcisions are basically divided in to two categories: height and tightness.
Low: a circumcision in which minimal inner foreskin is persevered with the scar being closer to the glans. Low circumcisions usually involve removing the most amount of sensitive skin resulting in just shaft skin being present with a thin strip of inner foreskin left. It is usually preformed free-hand, without a clamp. This is the circumcision style I have.
High: a circumcision in which the outer shaft skin is removed and the sensitive inner foreskin now takes up a portion of the shaft. This is the most common style of circumcision, and the scar is often halfway on the shaft. Most high cuts are achieved with a gomco circumcision clamp but can be done by hand as well.
Tight: a circumcision in which the shaft skin has limited to no movement. As is expected, more skin has been removed to achieve this. When flaccid (soft) shaft skin will not cover the head or bunch up behind the glans. Most tightly circumcised men need to use lube to masturbate.
Loose: a circumcision in which the shaft skin has been preserved to a large extent. A loose cut man may be able to cover a large amount of his glans which his shaft skin while both flaccid and erect, and the shaft skin tends to bunch up or cover the glands when flaccid.
Medium: less common, but as to be expected, it is the half way point between the two levels of tightness. My circumcision is medium-tight.
Frenulums are sometimes removed during circumcisions, or in a separate procedure known as a frenectomy. The frenulum contains a large number of nerves and are very stimulating for men whose are intact. However, the tissue can sometimes cause issues with the retraction of foreskin, resulting in the need for a separate procedure known as a frenuloplasty in which the frenulum is cut/altered/repositioned, but not removed. My frenulum is intact, but I plan to have it removed for a more ascetic look/feel.
If you’re considering circumcision you should favor a low and tight circumcision with a frenectomy. This gives the full benefits of a circumcision with what I consider the most appealing result.
