“I am very capable of doing the things requested of me,” Jeanette said. “I get discriminated against because of how I look. Maybe I should look for jobs that don’t require me to go into an office.” She shrugged and looked down in her cart. “People in Sugar Pine Bay are really open and accepting, though. I’ve just not seen a lot of job opening here … I’ve been looking a few towns over.”
“Maybe you try here?” Alexei offered. “I know zis place has open mind about sings like zis.” He gave her a smile. “Nothing wrong with how you look, young lady. And should not affect getting a job.”
