She pulled her hair behind her ears and grabbed onto her cup with both hands. “I… I.. love you..” The words fell out of her mouth. She didn’t want to be so straight forward, but it kind of just happened. Know all she could do is stare at the table directly below her.

With all this, a tear slip down her cheek, and about the time it did, he sat a drink in front of her. He said something but she didn’t really catch it. She quickly wiped her face and looked up. “Oh, thank you Zane. Just keep the change”

A sigh came out. There was something that was bugging her and she wasn’t going to tell him either. He took his seat and started talking to her again. “Hey. I’ll ask you this one last time. What’s wrong? You know you can tell me…” He wasn’t going to give up until he got the real answer out of her. “Keeping it bottled up isn’t good.” He propped his face up with his hand and took a sip of his drink.

“Alright…” She looked into his eyes for just a moment, then back to the menu board. ” Um.. a french vanilla latte will be fine. Oh!” She digs through her purse and finds a ten dollar bill. “Here.”

Zane nodded and took the money from her. “I’ll be back with our drinks. I won’t be too long.” He stood up and walked over to the cashier handing him money for both of their drinks. After telling the cashier the order he stood there for a minute. He glanced over to see Alexis getting lost in her own thoughts now. And she just got onto him for doing the same. He sighed and looked back to see that their drinks were ready. He thanked the cashier as he went back to the table. “Earth to Alexis. Here’s your drink.” He put the drink on the table and pushed it towards her.

He snapped back into reality and nodded. “Yeah, just thinking. Don’t worry about it.” He let out a sigh and waited for Alexis to pick what she wanted. He already knew what he was going to order. Nothing special, this time. “Whenever you’re ready, just tell me what you want.” He didn’t come out and say it, but hopefully she got the point that he was going to pay for the both of them.
