I chose the book I’ll be gone in the dark for one reason because of the mystery portion of the plot. I’ve read books similar to this one about murder mysteries and the chase to find a criminal. Putting the pieces of a crime together is very interesting and attention grabbing to me. After reading the back of the book it instantly made me feel like this would be a great book for me to read.
As you can see from the three passages I pulled out Lindbergh uses really basic excuses such as saying one of the best batting pitchers is nothing but a “miracle”. He also includes how two of the other better batting pitchers in the MLB went 0-2 over the weekend using such a small sample size as reasoning is foolish. Finally, he includes how most pitchers swings are not good looking and talks about one of the MLB’s most fun players to watch. This player, Bartolo Colon, isn’t very athletic looking. however he does have one homerun in his career and is one of the most viewed videos in baseball history. This is Lindbergh’s way of avoiding fan opinion on allowing pitchers to continue to hit in the national league.
when i listen to music i listen for the message like most people. with me, i listen for if the song relates to me and my life or not. music i listen to, i tends to relate heavily to what i’m going through. whether it be pain or happiness.
this is one of the reasons why i enjoy khai dreams so much. his music tends to be more about love and the feeling you have while being in love. he even has a song called “In Love”.
In the song i have attached above called “I wish you love”, talks about falling for someone and how “her skin is soft but her heart is hard”. this is a prime example of something that i look for in music. the message. The message of that line could be she’s soft on the outside, but hard on the inside because of heart break or because she’s scared to let someone in.
In the chorus it says “you are the only thing that can ease my mind, on days like these. you are the only one that can take my mind, somewhere else”. This message also is an example of how it relates to me or how i connect my past to this. Even though it’s a male singing, me a female, can relate this towards how i feel about a boy.
I liked all of the similes you used in your posts to help me understand the meaning behind a lot of what you’re saying. I’ve heard songs where the vocalist may try and go on his own path singing that may not match the best really well. This is why your artists are all professionals they match the beat so well. When it comes to a meaning behind a song or a message I think that is too, very important. I like being able to relate to a song and the singer’s feelings. I get connected to the song and the singer and it makes the expirience of listening a lot better.
someone who i feel is under appreciated is khai dreams. the music he makes isn’t typical music i listen too but it’s something that i’ve grown to enjoy. his music flows and is calming to me. it reminds me of summertime and sunshine (sorry that’s soooo corny).
After listening to Khai Dreams (havent heard of until now) I agree he is under appreciated but I don’t really hear anything that stands him out compared to other music artists. Maybe I’m not seeing it/ hearing it but you are. What makes his music more appealing to you and why hasn’t he become more of a famous musician?
What criteria goes into a swing from a major league batter. A lot of different factors determine how the swing looks and effectiveness. Most hitters have the same mentality going into an at bat. That is to match the path of the barrel of the bat to the path of the ball on the pitch. The closer those two are together effect the distance the baseball travels. What also effects the quality of a baseball swing is the load of the hitters hands. The movement of the hands readies the hitter for any pitch and helps take away time that the swing takes and gives the hitter as much time as possible to analyze a pitch and make contact.

An art I find under appreciated is the art of batting in baseball. We take batting for granted so easily because instead of watching the swing we look at the numbers. This guy hit 43 homeruns. This guy had 200 hits. But what about the swing behind it. What about the batters thought process before the pitch.

Clothing in itself is an art, and the designs on the clothing just expand the art to where it is appealing to the eyes of others and myself. The company Supreme has been constantly creating art on clothing for years, and personally to me it just gets better and better. Artistic ability being applied to designs on clothes really appeal to me, especially because it is not a traditional form of art.
Clothing is definitely an art. The ability to combine comfort with style is a tough task but I believe the brand supreme does that wel. Style and clothing go hand and hand and when done correctly is an art. Making everything match and have meaning can be really beautiful.

Just like clothing, shoes have the same aspect of art applied to them. Even though some shoes happen to look the same, some specific shoes such as the ones in the picture are made with detail and craft, and are meant to be unique. Pairs of shoes like these that are one of a kind and unique are “high” art to me.
I agree with calling them high art. Although they aren’t always noticed shoes are a large aspect of design and are made by the biggest fashion/design brands in the world. Shoes each have a unique design and that complied with its purpose whether that be fashion or athletics. They all can be art if looked at deeply
So the clear humor in this post is the dislike for Donald trump portrayed by taking a sign down of his name and putting it in the garbage where they think it belongs. What may be more is siddarth’s dislike for our president and thinks his ideals are similar to the trash they belong in

Culture to me is so intricate and so beautiful in all of its different forms and interesting ideas and clothing and how we can all do our own ordinary things differently yet still have it feel so normal to all of us. I specifically chose a picture of Chinese culture because I find their culture so beautiful and their clothing so detailed.

I love this picture and how well it represents our earth. I think that the earth itself is art and so is the geography of it. The earth looks so different in so many places and this picture of a beach shows off all the beauty of just one setting.

I personally believe that not only baseball but all sports are forms of art. There are so many elements being combined within just one play. Baseball specifically, batting is said to be one of the most difficult things to do in sports. Swinging a thin bat as hard as possible yet also keeping the bat in the strike zone as long as possible is just the beginning. However combining this with a pitcher throwing his hardest with movement truly makes hitting seem next to impossible. Some hitters are able to make hitting seem like a breeze. With some of the most beautiful looking swings in the world they can combine power with contact and not only hit a lot, but hit the ball far as well. Art is difficult no matter the form. I believe baseball is a form of art and through looking at the details you may see it as well.
What do I want from my education? From my education I wish for the power to choose. I want to be able to choose where I go to college. From there I’d also like to have the power to choose in a business that I run. I don’t want to be limited by what other people want for me or what I can afford. I would like the power to choose where I live and where I travel. I believe my education can be a stepping stone to giving me this opportunity.
