Sorry for being soooo late with this... but better late than never they say, right? Right...?

Thank you @ice-creamforbreakfast for tagging me, it really warmed me up inside. This last year has been difficult... my mom passed away, we've been keeping my dad afloat (fortunately he's doing good except for some minor health issues), and work work work... maybe I'm oversharing but that's that 🤷🏼‍♂️

🎤 Last Song: Wellll I'm not a very musical person, but I do have something playing in the background if I'm working at home, so the last song I heard is probably something jazzy like Ella, or whatever was playing on the radio?

🎨 Favorite Color: Yellow. But not any yellow, a crisp and fresh light citron colour. And pink!

📺 Currently Watching: I live in Spain so the last shows we are watching are local productions, usually dark comedies with some kind of social commentary. Right now it's one called "Se tiene que morir mucha gente", roughly "more ppl deserve to die" about a woman in her 30s navigating work, romance and friendship, just so you get an idea. Waiting for the next season of "White Lotus".

📚 Currently Reading: Ugh I've completely lost my reading habit. I'd love to say it's "La Peste" by Albert Camus but right now it's the script of a film I'm working on (I'm in the costume department).

❤️ Current Obsession: The mummy of the Younger Lady, the mother of King Tut, afaik a minor royal wife. Was she murdered with a blunt object? Did she die in a chariot accident? Who knows.

🔍 Last Google Search: Probably unpopular opinion but "uninstall Paralives". It's cute and all but meh.

🛠️ Currently Working On: Staying sane basically 😂

I don’t know if you’ve seen this on IG. It’s really sad, We all have devoted so much of our lives, passion, love and money to this franchise, and without women and the LGBT+ community this game and this billion dollar deal wouldn’t even exist.

I’m trying to hope for the best, but if they move an inch away from inclusivity it’s going to be really difficult to continue supporting them, and without us they’re cooked.

So yeah maybe we’ll give Paralives a chance after all…

Eco Water Tower Dew Collector

Don't ask me why, but for some reason I really hate the Eco Lifestyle dew collectors. I know, they're useful, but I always end up having to hide them behind half-walls.

On the other hand I really love the Lovestuck debug water towers, but they're not functional.

So here we go: all the functionality of the expensive dew collector, but with a vintage, urban, and inconspicuous design. And much cheaper! The best of both worlds.

Requires Eco Lifestyle, all 9 original swatches, 300$ in game.

I know there were supposed to be 24, but I've been pretty inactive and hardly had time to play and much less create, specially the last months because I've been working on a very demanding project. It was fun to go back through the year though!

I also wanted to give a heads-up on the Medieval walls. I started working on them as @zx-ta generously extracted the original textures for me, but they've turned out to be much more work than I thought, somehow what looked fine in TSM doesn't look that great in TS4, and I don't want to deliver half-baked content. So they're in my projects folder and a priority, whenever I get more time to work on them.

Hi! I would like to ask some help from someone who still has tools to extract TS3 textures.

I made these walls for TSM years ago (though they're technically TS3 walls), and I thought maybe they could be redone for TS4.

Afaik each should have at least a mask and a multiplier, and maybe a specular, maybe in some cases an overlay but I don't really remember tbh. These are about the only stuff I could find from my old creations and it would be kind of cool to get at least some of them back, and they'd go well matching the Castle Estate textures, don't you think?

If it's not too much of a hassle, I've have to check if it's possible to convert them to TS4 but I can't see why it wouldn't be, though I'd have to edit the textures for the different wall heights.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but just a friendly reminder from an old man who’s been in this community for 20+ years. Yes, stuff gets broken with updates. Yes, it’s a hassle, but updates are necessary to keep the game running.

Whatever happens please don’t harass creators, specially creators that release their stuff for free. Don’t be a scumbag.

Read a book. Pick up crochet. Play a f*cking vanilla game, without mods, without eyelashes, it won’t kill you.

And if you’re sooo desperate for updated mods learn how to update them yourself.

We’re not entitled to other people’s time and energy. Just chill.

As a native Spanish speaker (who knew, right?) I find Ciudad Enamorada corny to the point of cringe... a gym calle "Sweat"? A nightclub called "The Outlook of Love"? A lounge called "Hug Lagoon"? Not to mention "Passion Mansion" or "Dreamland Street"... ugh that world is dipped in high-fructose corn syrup.

I think I'm going to rename it to Simoligalpa (which as we all know I decided is the capital city of Selvadorada), and call it a day.

Anyway, playing a semi-vanilla game with a few mods, nothing seems super broken but I am getting a lot of LE so I'll have to sort that out. Otherwise the pack is fun, it brings dynamism to romantic relationships, though I'm not sure it it feels more like a game pack than an actual expansion pack?

BB is ok, some nice pieces of furniture and decor, a bit annoyed with windows that don't match doors as usual, though I love that decayed exterior wall. and nice CAS stuff. I created a Sim (Tamara Sánchez, to keep with the Hispanic theme) just to try the gameplay, and hey, look at the cute guy from the gallery she met on Cupid's Corner!

Actually I’m kind into this, and it makes sense to have some sort of Eros and Thanatos arc in TS4 after Lovestruck.

But seriously, we need better and more types of deaths (at all ages!), graveyards, funeral events (with guests, pallbearers and an officiant, sort of like weddings) a lot of black CAS items. Also a new widow/widower status.

Death becomes Sims.
