ok so like im incredibly sorry for bringing homestuck up but i saw your dolorosa cosplay [from like a billion years ago] and im trying to make my own and i dont know what to do and if you have any advice at all it would be really appreciated :sob: im thinking of using linen for the skirt and such and sewing on thin strips of of cotton twill for the stripes but im not sure and im really scared im gonna mess it up [i want this to be like ,, a competition piece yk] ummm yeah anyways if you have a build book or patterns or anything from it id love to look it over :sob: sorrt again for mentioning homestuck in the year of our lort two thousand and twenty six i just have terminal brainrot and have to finish this cosplay by end of july

oh bless your heart. (attempting to remember what i did um uh. oh god. 14 years ago?) (looking at photos) (taking psychic damage) i remember i had bought black and white striped fabric (it was some kind of knit bc thats all i could find) and i dyed it green. actually it looks like the outer skirt was originally white with dark blue stripes? wow. i remember i made the inner skirt by sewing together panels at different angles. the sheer cape thing was originally plain green and i painstakingly drew the black stripes on it with a giant sharpie, a ruler, and a dream. it smelled really bad and the ink rubbed off on everything. for the mantle i put wire in the bias tape so i could use it to shape the shoulder piece.

(voice of the devil) just make all the stripes pleating.

#ok i wrote the pleating thing as a joke but actually if you could pull that off cleanly itd go crazy esp for a competition piece #please cite me as a consultant when you win ok?

no. go find an artist who has commissions open and pay them and if you absolutely must paint a version yourself, ask them for permission first. alternatively, practice drawing/painting and make your own. i think you will love it all the more if you go that route.

every other year or so i go "damnnn this shit was kinda awesome" and i think about writing the second chapter but then it just stays as thoughts in my head. so realistically the answer is "probably not"
