We may not have flying cars or teleporters yet, but we now have high-tech shoes that change their appearance with just a tap of your smartphone. This futuristic footwear is called ShiftWear and it’s the creation of New York-based shoe designer David Coelho. Each sneaker features a flexible, HD color, e-paper display, the same technology used in e-readers. The durable, waterproof display shows custom animated designs and colors that are uploaded from a companion app on the wearer’s phone.

Coelho recently launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund the production of Shiftwear sneakers. The campaign has already reached its funding goal but there are still a couple weeks remaining for anyone else who want to get in on a pair of cutting-edge kicks.
