Last night I watched Al Goreās An Inconvenient Truthā¦Ā Ā And boy, was it inconvenient! All night I wasnāt able to sleep. How did we humans let this happen?? Itās unbelievable that no one except Al Gore has drawn attention to this issueā¦. Letās start making change NOW.Ā

If you are saying this you clearly havenāt educated urselfā¦. Have you looked at any real research?? It all says the world is heating up, and at a CRAZY rate. Take a look at this graph and tell me it doesnāt scare youā¦ Al had to get on a lift to prove his point!!!!
Iām actually taking a climate change course at my university right now (one of the top 100 universities in the world, actually), so yeah, I think Iām pretty educated on this topic. Iām not saying the world isnāt heating up ā¦ just that some people (like Al Gore), tend to sensationalize it. Yes, the world is heating up, but itās perfectly natural.
There have been periods in history where the CO2 levels were 3x, or even 10x, as high as they are today. Is that because centuries ago humans were making airplanes in factories? Obviously not! Itās simply how the Earth works.
Also thanks for adding that blurry picture. Really adds a lot to your argument. Iām going to assume itās a graph comparing CO2 and temperature. What you may fail to be noticing is that the temperature goes upā¦ and then Ā CO2 levels go up. In other words, CO2 does not cause the temperature to rise!
No major climate event can be explained by CO2 levels - CO2 has never driven climate change.

The graph I showed shows the incredible spike that has happened in CO2 and temperature since the world started to release crazy amounts of pollution in the last 100 yearsā¦. How did your young eyes miss that!?

Itās actually pretty obvious what warms the Earth. Iāll give you a hint: itās big. itās yellow. itās reallllllllyyyyy hot. The sun.
Time for a little science education!
So the sun is this big burning ball of flame, right? It gives off something called sun spots. These sun spots are intense magnetic fields, that hit the earth. Back in the middle ages, there was the ālittle ice ageā. During that time period, there were very little sun spots. I could show you a graph, just as fancy as yours, that shows an incredible correlation and causation between sun spots driving higher earth temperatures.Ā
In the 20th century, the intensity of the sunās magnetic fields doubled. This perfectly explains any rising temperatures that have occurred in the last century.
Just look at those sun spots in action!
So you can acknowledge that climate change exists. But WHY canāt you see that it is all because of human activity?????!!!!!! This sun spot thing is simply not true. This is how it really works:
1. Sun rays naturally go towards the earth, through the atmosphere. 2. Some rays bounce off the earth 3. Usually these would go back into space BUT CO2 and pollution stop these rays from escaping 4. Heat is trapped in and itās sufocating us!!!!

Itās humans that are ruining our earth. For so long people in our government have ignored global warming advocats like Mr. Gore. People need to band together and stop it NOW. There is so much evidence that we are the reason:
-The ten hottest years EVER have happened in the last twenty years.Ā
-YOuāre probably to young to even remember but the # of natural disasters every year has increased
-Ice caps are melting at a FAST rate and are going to flood islands and lowlands and Ā stop earthās ocean currents
-Climate change is letting all sorts of invasive plant species take over our natrual habitats
My son is 5 years old and I donāt want him to have to live in a world with rising sea levels, crazy temperatures, and a sky that looks like . People like you not understanding that consequenses ARE COMING

Okay to be fair, Iām not a solar-ologist so I donāt fully understand what the sun does, but whatās clear from my extensive research is that climate is controlled by clouds, which are controlled by cosmic rays, which are controlled by the sun. CO2 plays an extremely minimal roll in this process.

Frankly I donāt believe your first point. In the Halocene Maximum 8000 years ago, it was much much warmer than it is today. Since the mid-19th century, the global temperature has raised a mere Ā½ degree. And guess when this warming (of a measly half degree) started? Way before cars or trains were around! Iām 20 years young, and you donāt know my life, or what Iāve been through. But I donāt really know much about natural disasters, so Iāll concede that point.
Idk much about ice thingies either but youāre probably wrong.
Can you learn how to spell please? Iām getting a little sick of reading your typos. Invasive species are only invasive if you call them that. Itās like what constitutes as a weed. Itās extremely arbitrary.

So back in the day, when the Iron Lady ruled Mother England, she wanted to move away from coal (because politics and stuff). So she offered money to scientists if they could prove global warming was a thing, so the UK could move to nuclear power.
In todayās society, it is much easier for scientists to do projects if they mention climate change. āClimate changeā is the golden ticket to receive funding. Climate change funding has risen 10x in the United States, bringing in people who were only in it for the money.
People want global warming to be a human issue for political reasons. People donāt actually care about the Earth, they care about the money.
The simple answer to your question:
because there are SO MANY more people on this earth than there used to be
because we have gotten so good at polluting our environment! And only in the last century or so
Your graph is not convincingā¦. And honestly, Mr. Gore has so many high-level scientists working for him that there is no reason to believe this random one of yours over the studious graph that he shows.
The half-degree change in temperature you mention is simply not consistent with whatās happening in the real worldā¦.. How do you explain all of the glaciers and ice caps that are melting in the North pole and in places like Greenland??? Ice floes are changing and moving and presenting danger to human activity!

If there is an average increase of JUST 5 degrees in the worldās temperature , that means 1 degree of change in the middle of the earth but 12(!!!!!!) at the poles. That would make sea levels rise to unprecendented levels and would ENTIRELY cover very very populated areas of the globe. How would you like to be one of those people to lose your home or DIE in a terrifying flood???

Anywayā¦ Margaret Thatcher (unlike you, Iām old and wise enough to know her name!!!) clearly wanted to move away from coal because she already knew about the ghastardly effects of global warmingā¦ This was probably only 20 years ago, for goshās sake! She was ahead of the curve really. Iām sure funding for climate change research might finally be increasing. But we are not doing anything to actually change things! research will only get us so far. We donāt need to spread awareness for global warming. People are aware. What we need to be aware of is that any changes us humans make will not affect anything.
In fact, trying to combat the effects of climate change will only lead to harm. Letās take, for example, everyoneās favourite continent: Africa.
Africa is full of extremely poor people. They donāt have access to running water or electricity. They are developmentally hundreds of years behind us. They have to set fires in their own homes just to cook their meals. The smoke created from those indoor fires is actually one of the deadliest greenhouse gases. So why is it fair the Africa has to suffer in such a way? Africa has so many natural resources they could be using (oil, coal), yet we tell them they canāt use it. The UN has mandated that they should be using solar and wind power, but thatās just not realistic in a developing nation. They should have the same opportunities we white people in the West had.
So next time you advocate for reducing oil and coal usage, just think of that poor person in Africa, not allowed to make a living for themselves.
Ok.... I want to emfasize for the last time that HUMANS are causing global warming. This sun spots thing is BOGUS.... You failed to provide any real evidence of it happening. All of the things ruining the planet line up exactly with human activity: thereās NO WAY these things are coincidence.... I feel so sad for your generation.
