Some Behind the Scenes from the Sony Z5Challenges shoot, including some last minute alterations and the epic jelly rain production, which had to be picked up and re thrown each take
These were shot by Tara Moore on a Sony Xperia for TMW which were part of the ChallengeZ5 from customers to capture pivotal moments as they happen.
The brief was to make the challenges as visually fun and colourful as possible.
I sourced and supplied all the props and wardrobe, everything from dying and making the break-dancers costumes, sourcing the right balloons & filling them with feathers and making a bow tie, hiring the zorbs, making the colourful boxes for the crash test Stig, dip dying the brides veil, to cutting up all that Jelly rain, this was a very challenging props and wardrobe list but immensely fun to work on
Some shots from recent kids work for Danonino shot by Tara Moore. My brief was for fun, bright and colourful!
I was recently asked to style wardrobe and props on a series of images for the Movember press campaign to raise awareness and participation in the ever popular charity event. The images involved recreating a number of iconic characters and moments but using ‘real men’ as the protagonists. Shot at White Rabbit by Jon Enoch.
Some Behind the scenes images from my Feral Children project with Julia Fullerton-Batten. The locations varied from the Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean, perched on rocky outcrops, in caves and under jungle like trees, to a derelict WW1 disused airbase, old outbuildings on a farm and the Historic Dockyard in Chatham. We brought in all the props and dressed the sets as the rooms were all empty. We had a huge crew on set, with lots of assistants, models, chaperones, animal handlers, make up and styling.
My Feral children project took nearly a year to work on from the initial meetings and discussions to the final released images. It was a massive project which consisted of 15 final images each one taking a lot of work to produce.
The concept behind the shoot was the intriguing, and in some cases horrific, stories of feral children who had spent their formative years isolated from humans. From Russia to the USA, Mexico to Cambodia, the stories span both the globe and also centuries. I sourced a mixture of vintage clothes, hired period pieces and new children’s clothes many of which were bright white. I then dyed, distressed and broke down’ using a combination of theatrical dirty downs and good old fashioned mud, tea and coffee and on occasion tomato sauce. The clothes were then ripped, sanded, grated, dragged and bashed about to make them look as worn and tattered as the images needed.
These images are some of the clothes at various stages of their development from new to becoming feral.
The Specsavers animal hat family at various stages in their development and production for the second shoot and an LPA team shot at the end modelling the hat collection.
This was a kids shoot that I did with Michael Heffernan. I made the feather crown as I couldn't find one that I liked the right size for a small head. The kids were really good and were lovely to dress up in the outfits I had found for them using a mixture of vintage, home made, and new.
Some behind the scenes from a floral beards shoot with Julia Fullerton-Batten. We used an amazing location which was an abandoned derelict nursery. The plants had taken back over and trees were growing through the roof. The clothes were made to look old and worn and rugged, through a mixture of hired pieces, vintage and pieces that I destroyed/ distressed myself.
Some behind the scenes shots from a shoot for Adidas with Kerry Harrisson. We had a lot of fun on the golf buggies!
This was a great shoot to work on for Specsavers. The campaign was for 2 free pairs for kids so they wanted an animal hat to wear a pair as well. The eyes and features had to be in the right position for the eyes when photographed on the kids so I designed different animal hats that could have the features fitted into position on to the hat. At the casting I made mock ups to try out the different animals and see which of the features worked the best. The preferred animal hat choices were then knitted up and I sewed on the features like the eyes and noses for the day of the photoshoot. The favourite on the shoot day was the bear.
Some behind the scenes from a Kite eyewear shoot with Jon Enoch. We shot the ad Campaign images at the Book club and around Redchurch street.
Here are some behind the scenes from a property development riverside lifestyle shoot with Kerry Harrisson. The mood was for early evening drinks but we had to shoot them at dawn just before and just after sunrise, to avoid the traffic and to get the right lighting conditions.
Some behind the scenes shots from a Brooks England shoot with Frank Herholdt. These two shots were done at dawn and dusk on the same day - the first was shot as the sun was rising at Cheddar gorge to make sure there was no traffic, then we drove a few hours further west to catch the sunset at a beautiful spot on Dartmoor with the setting sun glinting through our models beautiful Auburn hair.
