I wanted to share three practices which have provided me with the critical space, resources, support, self-esteem and dignity to keep working in tech. I want to preface this post with the disclaimer that it is not always possible to implement these strategies in your life. Sometimes, the very economic, emotional and sexist oppression faced by women in our industry means that we CAN’T do these things. But if you can, they might just help enough to keep you here fighting.

"Everyone experiences changes in their lives…and it is easy to get swept away in past memories and future endeavors. I have found that everyday I experience something that “grounds" me. Something that makes me stop and look around where I’m at. It may be a quote, it may be an experience, or something you said. Whatever it may be, these are things that remind me to be thankful, to be happy, and to just simply live."

I believe that less is more, that everything happens for a reason and to constantly BE PRESENT. I was taught to be humble, to always give 110% and to be a genuine soul with a happy spirit. For those who know me, understand that I am one to not have just one job. I love getting my hands in many things and living each day differently and creatively.
