Following Sarina Wiegman's typical 4-3-3 play structure!
I do really rate Ellie Roebuck but I think against Spain, on the off chance Hampton does have to sub off, Moorhouse is a safer bet.
Since Greenwood was benched during the last camp, I did ponder about starting her; however, I watched her play BCFC last week, where she was just a powerhouse, so I'll start her, but I fully trust Niamh Charles if anything happens. Again with Niamh Charles, missing the last camp from injury, Alex is probably the safest bet, but Charles is horrifically underrated.
Hinds also there as a backup, and I do enjoy seeing Hinds play for Arsenal, but I don't fully trust her on the international stage against Spain just yet. Time will tell.
I think Maya is such a strong choice for a starting centre-back. She's been incredible for Man United this season, so I trust her fully, but Jess Carter is also a good choice. I just don't see her play much since she's in the NWSL. Same goes for Esme Morgan; she's great, but she doesn't get much game time for England and with her now being in the NWSL, she's hard to judge.
Lucy Bronze is a choice I didn't debate for a second. She's a brick wall. And she knows the Spanish team a little too well... Jess Carter is also a strong bench choice for her if Jess were to go RB instead of CB.
I would typically start Leah Williamson over Lotte Wubben-Moy but Leah has been so injured recently, and I NEED her healthy for the Arsenal Champions League matches. Leah's injury has also allowed Lotte to shine, which has been brilliant to see.
Keira and Georgia are non-negotiables, but I'm not a fan of starting Jess Park in midfield. She's so natural on the wing. But, with Toone and Clinton out, we're buggered, and she's a stronger choice than Parkinson, Kendall, and Blindkilde-Brown in my opinion. Kendall and Blindkilde-Brown are strong options from what I've seen of them, but I haven't seen enough of Parkinson yet, and we need a strong midfield.
Beth Mead, too. She's also been injured recently, and I need her in full health for Arsenal again. Also, we have minimal choice provided Sarina does play a 4-4-3 for forwards so if Beth were to get injured on pitch, it would be riskier.
Lauren James feels like a secret weapon against Spain, so I was torn between starting her or Chloe Kelly since I feel like both of them are big moment players, but I think Kelly has been exceptional recently when given the chance.
I'm also tempted to bench Russo for the same reasons as above but she's just incredible. No idea what would happen without her. And as mentioned, we're short on forwards as with mids, so keeping Barry on the bench when she's so young feels like the best choice against Spain.
I totally appreciate Sarina bringing green players into the squad, especially with our abysmal midfield, but I don't trust them against Spain, not to start at least. Spain are tooooo strong.
I also have no qualifications and haven't played football for 13 years but hey! I also have opinions and an unhealthy obsession with watching the women's game!
