It had been a slow night. The majority of the Woodshade residents had chosen to spent their evening elsewhere, besides Shane, whoâd been coax into working a double, and the faceless drunk at the end of the bar, whoâd been sipping away since the afternoon. The tired huntress longed to be anywhere else, yet, time seemed to pass slower and slower each time she took a glance at the clock. Shane doesnât even bother to pick up her head when the front door chimes, her attention is kept on drying the scotch glasses. âWe close in five,â she declares to the patron, âSo, make it quick.â
alistair wasnât sure what tempted him to come and see shane, but something in him pulled him to the bar. he smiled as she talked, even though he figured her tone would change once she learned who had walked through the doors. âdo i have to make it quick? i usually like taking my time.â
