It has been a hard job for [y/n] since the first day of her relationship with Topper.
Sarah broke the guy when she cheated on him with John B and his friends even though it would take months for him to trust someone again. But then, three weeks later, Topper appeared with a beautiful girl by his side, her [y/h/c] hair blowing with the wind that was hitting that afternoon on the Country Club.
Kelce almost dropped his drink when he noticed that they were holding hands and Rafe felt his stomach drop to his feet when Topper introduced her as his girlfriend.
He didn't feel bad because of his sister or anything else, Rafe actually has had this hugeous crush on [y/n] since she moved to the Outer Banks and became Kelce's neighbour, and friend with the pogues (being constantly mentioned by Sarah at any opportunity, didn't help either). So when he saw that his best mate was dating the girl he was waiting to invite for a date, Rafe felt bad for being jealous of Topper, but he just couldn't help it...
The first weeks were pure torture to him.
[y/n] started to hang out with all of them every day and it felt like she was the missing piece of the puzzle. She fitted so well with all of them that it was impossible to think that there was a time she wasn't part of their lives.
After the first month, Rafe got used to the idea of [y/n] and Topper.
He was always trying to kiss, hug, touch or make out with her, but [y/n] always said 'no' to any PDA in front of their friends. She loved the idea of PDA, but [y/n] felt uncomfortable with all the eyes that would go to the two of them when their hands were together... It was all new to her, dating someone well known on a small island where everyone knew each other wasn't something that occurred to her before.
And Rafe was silently grateful for all the times that [y/n] stopped any PDA coming from Topper. Every time he would let out a sigh of relief and Kelce noticed how Rafe would look at her, but he never said anything because it wasn't his place to say anything and Rafe was getting used to it and talking about it, would be probably better...
And today was just like all the other days, Kelce would wait for [y/n] at his house so they could leave together and spend the day on Topper's new boat - which was bigger than the one Pope and JJ drowned - but it had been raining since yesterday.
It didn't look like the hurricane Agatha but the weather was bad enough to ruin all their plans to spend the morning at the boat and go to the Country Club in the afternoon to chill and let the boys play their golf (while [y/n] just watched them).
[y/n] opened her front door and ran through the rain to Kelce's front door, just stopping to wrap herself on one of her favourite hoodies - the one Rafe gave to her on her birthday, the one that Topper forgot about - and knocked on the door with their secret combination, letting Kelce know that it was [y/n] at the door and not just someone else.
The same second Kelce opened the door and [y/n] saw the two umbrellas he was holding, her hands gripped the coloured one. "When did I forgot my umbrella at your's?" [y/n] asked as she opened the umbrella above her head and stepped off his front yard, already going to his car.
"Hi for you too, [y/n/n]. Yeah, I'm good, thanks for asking." Kelce answered with sarcasm and went to his car right behind his friend that ignored him.
On the passenger seat, [y/n] tried to call Topper once but he didn't pick up the call, so she called Rafe, that picked up on the first touch.
"Hey, Cameron." [y/n] said softly and Kelce frowned his eyebrows with the calm way she was talking to their friend, when just before they left the house she was all anxious.
"Hi, baby girl," Rafe answered and [y/n] rolled her eyes with the nickname.
"You know how much Topper hates when you call me like that." She simply said and Kelce didn't need to hear the nickname to know what she was talking about.
"Yeah, I know."
"Whatever, Rafe. I'm just calling to let you know that in three minutes we're at your's to go to Topper's. So, please, I'm not looking forward to seeing some naked Touron at your bed, again." Rafe just chuckled at her words as an answer and rolled his eyes, as she could see it.
In a little while, they got to Cameron's mansion and just as Kelce honked, Rafe jumped out of his house with a black umbrella - like he was anxiously waiting for his friends behind the door. He walked in the direction of the front seat but [y/n] just pointed to the backseats with her thumb, which grabbed a groan out of Rafe's throat.
"Good morning, sunshine," Kelce said, looking to the backseat through the rearview mirror, while Rafe just ignored him. "So, did Topper pick up?" He asked looking at [y/n] that just shook her head in answer.
"He must be sleeping and didn't hear his phone." [y/n] shrugged and even with the certain on her voice, Rafe and Kelce could tell that she was feeling insecure and afraid of what they would find at Topper's house, but [y/n] was stubborn, they've learned it on the first couple of days with her, even if they told her that she could tell everything and why she was feeling like this, she wouldn't open up. [y/n] would keep saying that she was good, fine or even great, over and over again...
The drive was silent, except for the music connected on Kelce's phone and, as the car parked in Topper's driveway, [y/n] jumped out of the car. She walked to his doorway with fast steps under her colourful umbrella.
Just when she raised her hand to press the bell, the rough wind opened the unlocked door and even with tons of questions flying around her head, [y/n] kept walking upstairs to Topper's bedroom.
"Topper?" [y/n] asked to see if he would answer her from somewhere around the house, but the answer she got was complete silence.
Opening the door of his bedroom, [y/n] found Topper sleeping in his bed. With a girl beside him. They were both naked. [y/n/n]'s eyes almost popped out of its socks with the view of Topper - her (ex)boyfriend - laying beside his last-night hookup. [y/n] noticed the cup of water at the bedside table and grabbed it, throwing all the water in the sleeping form of Topper.
"What the fuck?!" Topper screamed in surprise and looked up at [y/n], still confused for having been just woken up by water. And then someone woke up beside him.
"Topper, you are a fucking bitch!" [y/n] said loudly and walked to the front of the bed. "Look, I know it's not your fault, you probably didn't even know he was dating someone, did you?" She asked the girl that was trying to cover her naked body with a blanket and the unknown girl shook her head with desperation. "See? I know which type of boy you are Topper… And I want for you to rot in hell!" She said and scoffed, started to walk out of the door of the bedroom. "I just want to remember you that karma is a bitch, Topper."
With that, [y/n] walked out of the house, ignoring all the pleases and fake promises Topper was throwing at her way, and as she got in the car, Kelce already took off as fast as possible. Well, he and Rafe knew because they saw that Topper was wearing boxers and a half-naked girl was appearing at his bedroom window.
Yeah, it didn't take a genius to understand that Topper had cheated on you.
"Kelce, you can stop at my house. Sarah is never home anyway, my dad and Rose are finishing business out of town, they won't be home until next week, and Wheezie is at her friend's house..." Rafe said just after a minute from the scene of Topper getting soaked with rain while he hit at [y/n]'s window begging for mercy.
"Sure… Uhm, [y/n/n], would you like to come? You know, we could watch a movie or do something..." Kelce asked and looked at the girl beside him, who was biting her bottom lip in thoughts. "But it's totally fine if you'd rather for me to drop you off at home..." Before Kelce could keep going, [y/n] spoke up.
"No, it's fine. I'd rather not be alone now..." She softly said and looked at the boys, who nodded with understatement. "Uhm, boys… Could we watch Criminal Minds?" [y/n] asked with a little excitement in her voice and when Rafe saw her little smile with just the mention of one of her favourite tv shows, he couldn't say no…
"Of course!"

It was late already when Rafe and [y/n] were sitting side by side at his bed, watching the 9th episode of season 1 of Criminal Minds, "Derailed".
They've had lunch, afternoon snack, coffee time and now, dinner while watching the episode where a delusional and paranoid man, made hostages in a train - one of them being Elle, one of the FBI agents - and he would just let them go if the government took the 'chip' (he thought he had) off his arm.
As Rafe ate a few of the french fries with his eyes glued on the screen, [y/n] noticed that it had stopped raining. After around 24 hours of constant rain, the sky was now only with a few clouds and through the window, she could see a few stars as it was already nighttime. Their lightning passing through the clouds still up there and for a second, she felt utter peace.
Rafe beside her noticed [y/n]'s gaze outside of the window and without even wanting to, he stared at the gorgeous girl sitting by his side at his bed. He couldn't help but notice every detail in her side profile that he could only notice this close, like the perfect design of her lips, the little freckles on her face or even the angle her eyelids curled up naturally.
[y/n] looked back at him after she noticed that he hadn't answered her question, that she completely forgot about when her eyes found his blue ones staring at her. They locked eyes and all those feelings they had kept hidden for so long to not hurt Topper, hit them like a damn tsunami.
In a second, their eyes were closed and their mouths were pressing against each other in a passionate kiss. It's even cliche to say that, but [y/n] felt the same butterflies that would appear in her belly whenever she saw Rafe, going crazy as if they were trying to tickle her from inside out. It was something she never felt before.
While Rafe was trying to tell himself to remember to do the basic things to survive, like breathing, heart beating, his brain working… Because, for a second, he completely forgot about that. Kinda felt like he was in heaven, and to be in heaven he had to be dead, but when [y/n]'s right hand went to his hair, Rafe noticed he was alive and if he didn't breathe, he wasn't going to enjoy the moment he waited oh, so long for.
His hands grabbed the hip bones he would always admire from afar when she wore bikinis and brought her closer to him. [y/n] was almost sitting on his lap when she separated her lips from his, even if her whole body was begging her to keep kissing, touching him.
"It was way better than what I imagined it would be..." Rafe admitted breathlessly after a couple of seconds in silence. Neither of them moved and they wouldn't until they needed to.
"Wait, you've thought about kissing your best friend's girlfriend before?" [y/n] asked him playfully and looked at his face so close to hers.
"Well, you can't blame me being like that!" He exclaimed and the girl giggled as she sat in a more comfortable position in his lap, with both her legs to his left side. "You're just amazing, and I think I can because I met you before Topper did."
"Yeah, that's true..." She said and wrapped her arms around his neck when she felt his muscular arms embracing her waist, connecting their lips another time.

A week has passed since the... event with Topper.
[y/n] and Rafe have been trying to take things slow since she just got out of a complicated relationship, so pretty much no one knew about them.
That was until Rafe accidentally posted a picture of them together in the country club, where they were sitting together on Ward's boat, [y/n] between his legs, while they read the same book and shared a drink. His finger slipped, it was supposed to be sent only to [y/n]'s dm on Instagram but it ended up in his story, where everyone saw the photo and made them the OBX's power couple in less than 10 minutes.
Yeah, the internet is powerful…
It was JJ calling on [y/n]'s phone with all the pogues screaming together at her, Kelce calling Rafe and Wheezie trying to bursting into his room, all at the same time.
Just like a movie scene.
"I suppose we'll have to deal with the drama a lot earlier than we expected..." Rafe muttered under his breath, looking at the girl laying on his chest.
"Rafe, I swear to god, you had only one job!" [y/n] complained tiredly and buried her face on his neck.
"Sorry, love..." He said back and chuckled lightly when he felt her eyes rolling against his neck.
"How could you hide this from me!" Wheezie screamed from behind the closed door of Rafe's bedroom and the couple completely ignored the girl as they tried to fall asleep again after turning off their phones.
They would stay inside their little bubble until the last second they could because 'drama' was never their thing.

Then she did the one thing you feared the most. She called him over.

Your hands quickly covered your cheeks to hide the blush.

Then a friend of his, Topper you assumed, called him over.
"You're cute. I'll see you around, Y/N." He gave you a smile as he walked over to his friends.

A/N: i had this idea for a blurb but i had to do a smut for JJ, sorry and don't forget to read the bonus at the end...
You were just chilling at your backyard, just admiring the beautiful view that you were able to see from your favourite spot, where anyone inside of the house could notice what you were doing - what caused a lot of afternoons being lost with little naps and no one would wake you up -, when you felt your cellphone buzzing next to you against the little bench you were sitting. You turned to grab it and saw Kiara's nickname ("Wifey ✨🤤💍🧚♀️💖") written, with a picture of the both of you at the 'HMS POGUE' with matching bikinis, so you picked up the call.
"Hey, wifey." You heard Kie's voice and before you could even say anything back, she continued and went directly to the point. "We are going to hang out today and I know that you're at your house, so come as fast as you can because we're leaving in fifteen minutes and if you don't get here on time, we're going without you." Your eyes widened with the way she was talking to you, or something happened with her or she was at her period (what you thought that was weird because you were always together on periods). "Bye, come to the Chateau." And she just turned off the call, just like that.

Before you could even think of anything, your phone buzzed again, but this time it was a message from her.

You rolled your eyes at her message, but you couldn't help the smile from appearing at your face. You had such a delicate best friend... And then you noticed that you weren't wearing bikinis under your clothes, so you just ran upstairs to your room and changed in your favourite bikinis. When you were walking downstairs, you thought that you were being fast and that you wouldn't have a problem to get to the Chateau - that's normally 10 minutes from your house -, but when you checked your phone, you noticed that you had lost 12 minutes.
"Whatever, they're not gonna just left me behind..." You whispered to yourself while grabbing your chains and walking to your car. As you started the car, your cellphone buzzed with a message and you saw that it was JJ now, but you didn't stop to see what it was saying, just pulled the car out of your driveway and went to the Chateau.
You weren't worried when you would get there, you just put your playlist 'babe's summer' (made by JJ), turned the windows down, and relaxed. The wind was hitting your face, with the smell of the sea with sunscreen, and blowing your hair to where it wanted to. In a few minutes you got to the Chateau and the moment you got out of the car, you had the thought that something was off.
Even if the Pogues were at the boat, you would still be listening to them, because we can all agree that they are way too loud. And when you got at the living room, seeing just JJ lightning one of his blunts alone, you were pretty sure something was wrong.
"You're here!" JJ said when he saw your confused face getting inside of the living room and looking around. "Oh, they didn't wait for us."
"What?!"
"Yeah, John B wasn't in the best of his moods today, so when I got here, a few minutes ago, they were getting off with the boat and didn't even wait for me." He explained and you rolled your eyes at John B's childish. "You didn't see my message did you?" JJ asked, raising one of his eyebrows at you, that just shook your head.
You sat beside him at the sofa and got the blunt out of his hand, giving yourself a long and deep drag. JJ was so used to it already, that he didn't even care anymore and you kinda became the unique person he would share his blunt with. Well, he would always share his blunts with you and he never saw a problem with that. He got out of the sofa and walked to the kitchen, coming back with two beers and handing one of them to you.
"You know I'm driving, don't you?" You asked, narrowing your eyes at him.
"You're staying the night, just like always." JJ completed and you just took the beer from his hand, taking a sip and gave him the blunt back while looking outside the window again and shrugging your shoulders. You knew pretty well that JJ wouldn't let you come back to your house until you were sober again and that would be just tomorrow...
You two stayed like this for 2 minutes maybe, just lazily sipping on your beers, JJ quietly smoking his blunt and looking at your calm expression, while you looked out of the window and just watched the world outside. Until JJ came closer to you, offering you the blunt again, that you accepted with a little smile, JJ passed an arm around your shoulders like it was the most normal thing in the world (but that created several butterflies inside of your stomach) and grabbed your phone.
When he took the phone out of your back pocket, you just frowned your eyebrows at him silently asking what he wanted to do with it. But JJ just touched your screen, putting your password and started to look for an app that you couldn't tell which. As he saw the app he was looking for, his feature even lighted up a bit and his fingers that were already moving kinda fast just got faster. Then he clicked on something and gave you the phone back while a known song started to play.
The same second that the singer said the first word, you knew pretty well the playlist he had put to play. The one he created and shared with you, called 'Just For Sex'. Your cheeks started to burn when you noticed the music that was playing, '34+35'.
This couldn't be better...
But neither of you moved from your places, just you started to whisper the lyrics with Ariana Grande without even noticing the way JJ was.
He has been hot and bothered for you since the last time you two had any type of physical touch, meaning two weeks. It was a unique time alone he had with you without the Pogues to stop anything he tried or to just be 'cock-blocks'. JJ's eyes went to you the same moment the last chorus started to play because you had moved. But you didn't just move your legs, arms or just sat a little closer to him... you sat directly at his lap.
You smirked when he gulped loudly and with your senses kinda blurry from the blunt and the beer, you ended up not noticing how painfully hard JJ already was. In a matter of seconds, his lips were moving furiously against yours with desire being exhaled from every touch.
