Friendly reminder that the original Aziraphale and Crowley are currently living their post-season 1 happy ending, vavooming

Okay but also why does it matter who the best or second best angel is/was anyway, why was this even shoehorned into the finale when it literally doesn’t even apply? The entire point of the first season and book is that Crowley and Aziraphale aren’t great at their jobs and they’re not trying to be. How the hell could Aziraphale be the second “best” angel (and don’t even get me started on the motherfucking absurdity that is the concept of Angel Crowley having been the best angel LOL)? Why did “best angel” start to matter more than “your true self”? Aziraphale is wonderful, but he’s not a great angel at all— just like Crowley wasn’t a great angel. And this is by angelic standards, not what’s actually good and truly right
Best and second best angel my ass. Get that shit away from me. This finale comes across like it was written by heinous emotionally stunted spoiled men trying to convince their mom to love them. Like it did its best to erase everyone’s past and gaslight the viewer into believing the opposite of what the book and s1/some of s2 portrayed. It’s just so unbelievably frustrating that this best angel rhetoric was ever introduced and that it achieves nothing but the sanitation of the both of them and the destruction of the scaffolding of who they’ve always been
I fucking hate it here

Saw this meme on Bluesky and couldn’t resist!
i think we should talk more about how radio omens crowley chose to be a serpent. like he just. picked snake? what’s that about.
crowley falls from heaven, takes a nice sulfur bath, sort of like a hot spring he might say, and then sits miserably in a towel and writes “snake” on his intake paperwork under “what’s the most horrible scary animal you can think of”?
or do we think lucifer takes pity on them and it’s actually “what’s your favorite animal that you want to hang out with forever and never be able to get rid of” and crowley was like oh good finally the amenities i was told i’d get for joining the rebellion

My headcanon is a wee bit of Crowley atoms got swapped with a wee bit of Aziraphale’s when they were squished through the Universe’s Playdough Fun Factory of Life!
Better than discorporation, I guess.
I found both of these quotes in close proximity and couldn't help myself
I can't even decide which one of them is saying it. Both I guess
