Why does no one talk about the "don't want to be perceived teen" to "want to be deeply understood on a mental, physical, and spiritual level adult" pipeline?
Social media used to be an outlet for me to escape but now I feel like I'm just a grain of sand blending into the ocean floor. Nothing to make me stand out or be understood on an intrinsic level.
I know there's people out there who have experienced the same things as me and have the same dreams and aspirations, but we are separated by this void.
I don't know... maybe it's just the autistic desire for me to be understood. Wishing to be able to transmit every event in my life along with all of my emotions so that there's finally someone who understands me on the deepest level possible without me having to say a single word.
Important message from a psychology graduate and children's therapist...
Lack of a diagnosis doesn't mean you're faking it.
The only criteria for (generalized) eatind disorder: If you have disordered thoughts surrounding food (ex, guilt, fear, disgust, etc...)
You aren't doing it for attention. If you were, you wouldn't be doing it when you're alone.

This might just be me but I feel like girls have higher rates of EDs and self harm because we aren't diagnosed early on with things like adhd and autism so we are just left thinking we are the problem, causing us to try and "fix" ourselves and when we fail we blame and punish ourselves with maladaptive coping mechanisms like sh and starving/binging
I haven't been able to finish a meal without feeling nauseous or sick in the last 3 days...

Secondly, I want to apologize for being inactive the last few months. I recently had surgery on my ankle [I'll post pics maybe 🤔]
With my surgery and recovery, it's been really difficult on me mentally and physically. Being unable to walk the last 4 weeks especially. You don't realize how important something as simple as walking is until you can't do it anymore.
I was just given permission by my doctor to walk again (in a boot ofc) and to start physical therapy (muscle atrophy) . While I'm able to walk a little bit, it isn't without much pain and effort.
I'm going to try to be more active from now on, please feel free to message me about anything, I'm a certified yapper 🥰💕✨️
why is advice to stop binging such useless garbage? like can you mention something that's actually helpful instead of the generic bs i've tried a million times?
1.) Don't keep binge foods in the house
2.) Eat fiber throughout the day (fruits n veg)
3.) Manage stress and emotions through outlets other than eating: exercise, drawing, walk, dance, paint, do your nails, talk to someone, etc...
4.) Don't restrict your cals too much or too quickly
5.) Learn to manage your emotions better: practice mindfulness. Practice processing and responding to negative emotions instead of being reactive. You can do this through meditation, therapy, yoga, cbt, etc...

I'm disordered, I'm going to be miserable either way. I'd rather be skinny and miserable than fat and miserable.
I don't want to yuck anyone's yum bcus I'm a girls girl but I'm a little concerned for those of you that have binge/metab days. I felt so sick after doing that. I hope you all stay safe 💕 and respectfully... I'm never doing that again lol
