Just gunna leave this here because Iâm salty.
Can we just acknowledge that Rick had his hand probably 4-5 inches away from Jades/Jadusâs gun?
Can we also acknowledge that in law enforcement school they teach you how to disarm people with guns?
Can we also remember that Rick used to be a Sheriff?
Rick.
Rick my dude. Come on man.
He couldâve killed her. He couldâve.
Grab wrist and push out of line of fire, draw firearm and shoot.
Dead junkyard lady.

âi didnât exactly CHOOSE to live in the woods. donât you think iâd rather be living somewhere warm and safe?â
 aliveandead:
âSurprisingly not that far. Not sure how I found you before you found us. Another couple minutes and you wouldâve been smack bang right into the side of our wall.â And by wall, he meant a mishmash of assorted barbed wire, sandbags, logs, and abandoned and broken vehicles. A circle of the aforementioned military vehicles was soon visible through the brush. It was a small circle, but it looked pretty damn secure from out in the woods. âLucky tooâŠguy at the front is a little trigger happy.â
âI guess iâm pretty lucky i bumped into you then,â she replied, the words being more truthful than she would have liked. âwell, iâm hoping youâre telling the truth. i wouldnât mind some hot food and a bed right about now. my feet are killing me.â she complained.
"We got some hardboiled eggs in our pot. I only planned to grab some firewood, so we put the water on and made some soup and put some eggs in after we washed the pot. Hopefully that'll be enough for you." He whistled loudly through the trees and got a whistle back. "Alrighty, they know we're here." Pulling some brush aside, the distant crackling of a campfire and idle chatter was a welcome replacement for the fire. "Hey, Danny, put some more soup in the pot, I have a friend with an empty stomach. Tell someone to open the trunk to the jeep and put a couple blankets in there too." The kid at the front got off the car and yelled at his brother, who in turned yelled back and started squabbling with each other. "Oh jesus...they're twins. Ignore them." He climbed up on top of the car used as a gate and went through the top to unlock the door. "Climb through, and hey, welcome to Delta Four. Home to a few teens and a police officer."

â i donât want to do it.â
â i wish i could just ignore the rules and let it slide, but i CANâT.â
â rules are what make it all work.â
â i know itâs not easy.â
â if you try to skirt it, if you try to cut that corner, then it is the iron for you.â
â on your feet.â
â ah, that wasnât so bad, now, was it?â
â clean that up.â
â iâm all done, do your thing.â
â well, the pussy passed out.â
â itâs settled, weâre square. everything is cool.â

â i didnât want to come back here.â
â iâm not trying to definitively stop ya. just maybe slow your roll.â
â iâm not waiting.â
â thatâs just being stupid.â
â you donât know what the hell youâre talking about.â
â it doesnât matter if youâre stealthy, snipey, gun or knifey. they have the numbers.â
â someone has to pay the price. even if youâre willing⊠from all weâve seen, itâs not a lock youâll be the one.â
â will the man who killed the man who saved our lives die?â
â youâre not talking me out of this, ___!â
â you owe me, and you owe ___â
â if thereâs a price, iâll pay it. but donât you tell me no.â
â you donât know anything, you donât DO anything.â
â youâre a coward. and youâre weak.â
â for once, do something useful.â
â donât beat yourself up.â
â you sold âem out, right? you had to.â
â itâs not what happened.â
â whatever helps you sleep at night.â
â how do YOU sleep at night?â
â you should go. someoneâs going to see us.â
â no, you absolutely cannot.â
â why the hell not?â
â look at this badass.â
â you canât because iâm not done with you.â
â what? you got something to say?â
â why havenât you killed me?â
â you see, s/he thinks s/heâs holding it together, but you saw it.â
â you on the other hand⊠we shall see.â
â itâs more productive to break you. more fun, too. you thinking thatâs stupid?â
â iâm thinking weâre different.â
â what do you think i should do? you know i canât let you go.â
â so, do i kill you? iron your face? chop off your arm? tell me. what do you think?â
â i think you should jump out the window to save me the trouble of killing you.â
â now, there is the ___ that impressed the hell outta me.â
â i think youâre not saying what youâre gonna do to me, because youâre not going to do anything.â
â if you knew us, if you knew anything, you WOULD kill us.â
â maybe youâre right. maybe i canât.â

â oh-ho, my⊠look at this little angel.â
â iâm sorry for what i said.â
â i reject that.â
â you meant it, you felt it, thatâs your truth.â
â iâd like to take it back to awkward silence now.â
â find what you wanted?â
â hey, neighbor. why donât you come by later? we might grill out.â
â oh, i like it here. i just might have to stay here.â
â you know, i was thinking about what you said earlier, ___. maybe it IS stupid keeping you alive.â
â i mean, why am i trying so hard?â
â maybe i should just bury you in one of those flower beds? huh?â
â what do you think about that?â
"Let's play 20 Questions, you first."
He squinted at the slightly older man, scratching his chin. âWait, am I guessing or thinking of a thing first?â
âYeah.. No. Paul and I are together.â
"Oh. Damn. My gaydar ain't workin' properly today I guess...um, ok. Is it alive?"
"Aren't you a little young to be out here by yourself?"

âi didnât exactly CHOOSE to live in the woods. donât you think iâd rather be living somewhere warm and safe?â

âKick my-hah!â He had to laugh just a little bit. Man, she was definitely a fighter. Theyâd get a kick out of her. âYou make it sound like we live in a base with an army. Itâs just me and a couple friends with a dog. And a small camp we fixed up. We got some makeshift tents and some make-shift beds. A shoddy roof but it works.â He chuckled again as he retraced his steps back the way he came. âKick my ass, hehâŠyouâre funny, you know? Not like Iâm thinkinâ you wouldnât fight me, I know youâd fight me. It makes me laugh to know thereâs someone like me out here. Hell, Iâd kick my own ass.â
âwell, you DID say it was a military camp, excuse me for making presumptions.â she retorted in her defense, looking down at her feet as they walked. âand yeah, iâd probably kick your butt pretty easily. all it really takes is for my foot to find itâs way to your balls and youâre down. i wouldnât test me.â she wasnât entirely sure what she made of him, but he seemed harmless enough.
âA well place nut-punt could probably take down any guy. Even my dog!â He chuckled again, absentmindedly stumbling over a branch. âWoops, a little sloppy today I guess.â He didnât deem her a threat at all, which was surprising. Normally heâd be a lot more cautious, but heâd found some food for his people that would help them eat for the next week, so he was happy.
âiâm almost afraid to ask how you know that but donât worry, i wonât kick your dog in the nuts. maybe.â she said, allowing herself to smile lightly. âitâs you that i wouldnât be so sure about. anyways, how far is it?â
"Surprisingly not that far. Not sure how I found you before you found us. Another couple minutes and you would've been smack bang right into the side of our wall." âYou have to ask me a question.â
"Oh ok...is it Maggie?" He smirked. Having only been in Alexandria for a little bit, he'd figured out pretty quick they were a thing.

âYou first!â His free hand went for the second gun at his hip, flicking off the safety. Hopefully, this conflict wouldnât end in bloodshed.
NO WAY was this going to happen to Lilah again, first it had been with the group that had picked her up from the hospital, then terminus and now this kid thought he was going to be some tough guy with his hand guns and stolen gear. NO WAY, So, looking over to the car door to her side, she gave a slightly confident grin as she slowly opened the mini vanâs driver side. Before hoping inside and locking the doors beside her. As sure, he MAY have had a vest, but SHE had a VAN.Â
âDo NOT make me break the windows!â Dave was a bit of a wild child before the apocalypseâŠbreaking and entering a car would not be his first offense. He really just wanted a ride home. They had stuff back there, he just needed a quick way back. Then, he had an idea. In his best whiny kid voice, he slumped, and whined âCome oooooonâŠI just need a ride homeâŠI have friends that need meâŠâ Maybe this would work. He even let his arms go limp at his sides.
Biting down HARD on her upper lip. Lily started the engine, as she was prepared to just RUN the kid off and go HOME. HOWEVER as he slumped against the passengers side, a whine only a child could make, it was CLEAR he had hit something primal within her. As she ADORED kids herself, their chubby faces to even their imaginative personalities. So as she heard his cries it set in he was only a CHILD, one with a horrible attitude but a child nonetheless. So with heavy reluctance, she answered back to the boy on the otherside. Knowing most likely how she was going to REGRET this decision. â Alright! If you pass over your weapons to me, and Iâll get you home. â
"Fine enough with me. Just please give them back. I like them because they've kept me alive." He handed all three of his handguns to her and put his hatchet on the floor. He had a feeling this would work. Certain women jus had that motherly nerve in them. He glanced back at the backseat. "You uh...don't look like you have a lot there. I can't give you much when we get there but how does a few bottles of water and a few cans of assorted goods sound...?" Hopefully she'd take the offer. She looked like she needed help as much as he did.
"Let's play 20 Questions, you first."

âArenât you a survivalist though? You know how to build a shelter and stuff, donât you?â He didnât quite trust her. He just encountered her, after all.
âi do.â she informed him, folding her arms, her eyebrows arching, âjust because iâm capable of doing something doesnât mean i have to do it. were that the case then i would have stabbed you by now as thatâs certainly something iâm capable of doing if you try anything funny.â
A smirk crawled across his face. âIâm wearing a Bulletproof vest I found at a military camp. Where I live. That has some shelter. And a fire. And a spare bed. Wink wink nudge nudge.â If she was already that much of a fighter, maybe he could afford to give her some supplies before she headed out again. After all, they had to watch out for the not-so-generous survivors. âYou donât seem to have much, but what Iâm asking, if youâve already figured out, is do you want a place to hang for a couple nights before you set out again? I ainât gunna do anything fishy. Got my own people to protect, what good would I âem dead?â
âbullet-proof vest, you just happened to find a shelter with all that crap, AND you have more people in your group? yeah, iâll believe it when i see it.â her smooth tone of voice was clearly tired, yet she was hardly going to pass up the opportunity to sleep in relative comfort. regardless, she made a curt âhmmâ sound, then reached over and pressed her hand up against his chest, feeling it and giving a slight squeeze. he wasnât lying, he really was wearing a vest. âalright. iâll head back with you, just no funny business. i could kick your ass if i wanted to.â she informed him, nodding at him to show her the way back to his camp.

It had been a LONG run for Lily, when this kid had shown up. FIRST a drunken man setting AFLAME anything within throwing distance, and next an older woman with a head SO FAR up herself it was AMAZING she could even see enough to walk. And now as the punk tried to hold up Lily next to her own car. What little she had fight wise kicked it and so, she duct behind the side of her own car. Not AT ALL having any of it before she shouted.Â
â Put the gun down, or I will open fire! â
âIâm wearing a standard issue US Army Bulletproof vest! That ainât a good idea!â He loved to flaunt his gear to strangers, especially when they thought they were going push him around. âIt ainât every day I see a car go by!â He retorted, a gun in each hand now. He never carried less than three handguns and enough ammo for each. Those Army vests could hold a lot... âGimme a ride back home! I wonât take any of your shit! Iâm too far to make it back before dark and I ainât got nothing but medical supplies and bullets!â
