I came across these kids when I was in Intramuros, Manila, early this year for this shoot. Some parts of the city were flooded, adults scattered for cover (that’s including me). 

And then I saw kids in small groups just run into the streams. I had hardly taken my camera out, when they started splashing water on me as well. Cowering, like a well meaning (but boring!) adult, I watched them have the time of their lives. 

A little later, the heavy rain had finally subsided and the water had drained out of the streets. And then I saw a strange scene. The kids refused to go back home and were now bathing in the water pumped out from a small hole in the wall!

They surely must feel truly alive and awesome!
