Trying so hard to rebuild my confidence, but I need to be patient and work. This is overall a mess, but it was a good first step back in.
At 26 years old, I finally sat down and gave Star Trek a legitimate watch. Why did I wait this long. Vulcans are cool as hell, guys.
My cousin wanted a personal piece from me for her new work office. It’s a little late, and I don’t typically default to a more cute/cartoony style for these sorta things, but waiting ‘til winter and hitting on that theme felt right and I get to exercise my chibi wings, I guess?

Somewhere between real world work and slacking on Inktober, I spent too long on this warm up. It’s been a while, buddy boy.

You gotta start somewhere if you wanna sell at cons, right? Now I need to make a counterpart print with her forest fairy look.
Got a new Zelda notebook at MAGfest, and it’s been my go-to sketchbook when I’m laying in bed winding down.
And then you rewatch some good ol’ 90s-early 00s Nicktoons when everyone else is asleep, and then you have some fun with redesigns!
I loved Rocket Power, I still do despite the dated-ness, and I’m so glad I caught it on TV again, thanks Splat. This was purely a self-grown exercise in terms of consistency and style, and I’m very happy with how these kids turned out. I wanted to feel good about my art again, and this was a step in the right direction.
Topmost page is a first (very) rough pass of the main kids, and then I built on from there with the following pages. No shock at all, but the Rodriguez brothers were always my favorites and therefore ended up being my big faves to draw too!
Gift art for the super talented and hard-working @crankyconstruct. Bit is precious and I had to stretch my chibi muscles with the little guy.

MAGfest 2017 was amazing and I'm already hyped for next year! I met guys I never thought I would, all of whom are absolute darlings, and picked up some goodies along the way. Cept for this flu, this shit sucks. Got me good and fast too.
I tried with Inktober this year, I really did. Then a baby shower for my sister happened, and then there was that logo design gig that ate up a lot of my time.
Here’s what I got for 2016. At least there was an attempt.

The reason for my radio silence and lack of Inktober: baby’s first graphic design gig.
I’m no graphic designer, by any means. I’d much rather work with paper and ink, but this was a project for family, so I figured why not stretch my creative wings a little bit.
Breaking in a new book with a self portait and a few words of comfort. Having just quit my serving job, I sorta need it to get back to actual art work.
