okay. some people genuinely do not know how to act about these casting rumours so here's my opinion: nuance matters.

if luke accepts a role where he ends up acting alongside a staunch zionist, that does NOT automatically make him a zionist. at this stage in his career, he likely has no control over who else gets cast. and IF the rumour is true, i’m not going to begrudge him for taking a job.

however.

dismissing fans’ very real and valid concerns about the project itself is not it either.

of course i wish fandom could just be sunshine and rainbows and good vibes. but we don’t live in a “fandom only” bubble where none of this has real-world implications.

personally? i’m not comfortable watching, promoting, or engaging with a project that knowingly cast someone i find morally reprehensible. so even if he is cast, i won’t be engaging. at all. and yeah, that’s disappointing.

fans are allowed to feel disappointed. that doesn’t make them bad fans. it doesn’t mean they hate luke or don't support him.

and at the end of the day, fandom discourse stops the second you log out. there is a very real genocide happening right now. that will always matter more to me than any casting rumour ever could.
