reblog if the first musical you ever listened to was not hamilton
Sound of Music is a classic
Hating life
not feeling too good right now
Just feeling like there's good about life at the moment.
Hopefully it passes.
Trying to distract myself by watching my favorite streamers.
Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
Life just ain't very good right now.
Still, little things that make me laugh still exist. Anytime anyone is feeling down I'll reccommend watching Sykkuno. I literally made a twitch account just to follow him and be able to interact with the chat. Wholesome content and chill atmosphere from a guy who loves life.
I hate life right now, but I see people out there who love life, and it makes me want to love life as well.
how “Cuties” could’ve been good
I’ve been binging my favorite youtubers rant about this movie and obviously it sucks, but the original Netflix trailer and description, honestly, didn’t sound too bad.. I haven’t actually watched the movie, but I’ve seen clips that are truly horrible but I get what the movie could’ve been like, and the Netflix trailer and description actually wasn’t as bad as the actual movie. The movie could’ve had potential and I thought it would be cool to see an adolescent raised from a conservative environment find her femininity.
Alright, so without watching the movie and ignoring the reviews/rants, and only basing from the description and trailer, I’m gonna try and guess the what the film could’ve been about.
So the protagonist came from a conservative family and, influenced by media and peers, discovered another side of femininity that was never taught to her by her parental figures. This could explore a good conversation about how children who grow up from a conservative household can have little to no knowledge about their sexual identity, whilst exploring how extremely lenient parents tend to raise children who can be overly sexual. If anything, this could’ve been a movie that talks about the nuances of sex ed in parenting and the accessibility children have nowadays to explicit sexual content.
Next, the trailer and description really hit hard on the dancing aspect of the movie. It could’ve shown how strict parents can inevitably alienate their child who will then tend to seek acceptance from their peers. These said peers, would now have the bigger impact on this child’s personality and ideologies rather than her family. It could’ve been about these adolescent girls from different walks of life, finding their identities together through their newly discovered passion for dancing.
So this whole spiel the director had about what she thinks her movie is about (which, without watching the movie, makes you want to actually root for it cuz it sounds like it’s gonna be good). Her movie could’ve been all that she said without the hyper-sexualized scenes though. The whole climax of film, I’m assuming, would take place on the dance contest and that was when the protagonist realizes that she doesn’t actually want to be seen as a sex object as she dances? Yeah, that absolutely sounds like a cool concept. Did it need to have disturbing shots of disgusting dance moves, though?
From the trailer and description (minus the twerking), the movie honestly could’ve been good.
No, it did not need twerking.
It did not need extremely sexual dance moves.
It did not need to seemingly cater to pedophiles. I know this wasn’t her intention, but it still does nonetheless and she needs to take accountability for it.
Honestly though, I think I know where she’s coming from. What happens to Amy isn’t really far from what actually happens with a lot of pre-teen girls raised in a conservative environment. I live in an extremely conservative country. So conservative that we’re the only country besides the Vatican to not legalize divorce, let alone abortion and same sex marriage. And, yep, you can bet that sex ed here is nonexistent. Where does that lead us? One of the highest number of teenage parents because media, which is our primary source of sex ed, says sex is all fine and good. (Legal) Abortion doesn’t exist here, so many young curious minds and bodies end up having to be early parents. I’d know, I, and many of my friends are part of this high number.
Anyways, what I’m saying is, this movie really could’ve been groundbreaking if it was written and directed right. Sorry Maïmouna Doucouré, but this was a badly made film, and you’re responsible for it.
Ferb is singing a song for Vanessa and Monty at Vanessa’s Halloween costume party… why is that making me so sad?
It’s like a sad mix of Ferbnessa (one-sided in that he’s done all the party stuff for her and is SINGING A SONG FOR HER AND HER BOYFRIEND TO DANCE TO) and my feels are going all over the place.
I couldn’t breath when I first watched that scene, I was almost waiting for Ferb to spontaneously combust at the sight of Vanessa with some pimpernel lol. Although, I like to think that Ferb just wants her to be happy, and that if that’s being with Monty, then it puts a smile on his face as well.
What an absolute KING this is so great
Ferbnessa. Hey, age is nothing but a number!
i just finished watching all P&F episodes and there's soooo much story that needs to be told from the timeline of Doof 101 to this episode. I've read fanfics but some are just too outrageous and had character development I don't approve of lol. Makes me wanna write my own fanfic.. which is saying something cuz I've never written a fanfic before, in my 20+ years of existence.
There's so much stuff i wanna do but despite the quarantine, I seem to not have any time at all
I wanted to do something Hamilton related last July, and His Dark Materials related last August but I thought too highly of my skills and now they're a bunch of dead end projects. I still hope of completing them soon but right now I have to enhance the skills I'd need to do them.
In the meantime, I think I'm gonna be writing some Phineas and Ferb fanfics or something lol. I just finished watching all the canon episodes and specials (minus Milo Murphy) and I just think there's so much more story to tell. Specifically Ferbnessa. I need more Ferbnessa lol
I may seem calm, but it’s a calm sort of anger, which is a much scarier type of anger.
The Thirteenth Doctor (via incorrect-doctorwho)
cuz the calm type of anger is unemotional and calculating, which one needs to be as one plots a murder
a disaster in 3 pictures
damn i didnt know people shipped #zukka this hard
lol wonder why
Process breakdown of this grown up Gaang painting. It can be a real challenge to control this many elements in a scene, a strong value structure and cohesive color palette helps a lot.

with the Legend of Korra going on netflix, I just want to remind people that the FIRST season was thought to be the last one. that every season was made to stand alone. the first season was meant to be the end. the last two seasons aired online.
pls don’t come in here and compare it to atla, which was made with different resources and no expectations placed on it as sequel.
they are each good (and bad) in different ways.
lok is quite literally the antithesis of atla, fitting for a new age of the avatar
