My favorite animation in the entire series is this. I’ve captured it both in normal speed and slow motion. This is the very first time we’re introduced to Toshinori, and the animators went all out showing us his transformation. Every frame is meticulous. To date, I don’t think there’s a single example of Toshinori powering-up into All Might that’s drawn with so much detail. Normally we either see him pop into it immediately, obfuscated by a puff of steam, or the camera focuses on a single body part, like a hand, or his pectoral. But I think this is what we’re “intended” to see every time he powers up. His muscles physically bulging around his bones, his hunched spine straightening, his clothes stretching as they grown increasingly unable to contain his mass. I can see why it’s never been animated like this again. I’m completely mesmerized by how his bicep grows over his arm, or the shadows in his shirt as we see definition in his trapezius and deltoid appear. There’s an incredible amount of anatomical finesse displayed here. It’s particularly easy to see the contrast between his sick, skeletal true form, too. I dunno man I just love this. Japanese artists and animators really, really know their stuff. They’ve mastered blending realism with appeal.

Because for them, just pumping iron wasn’t going to be enough to regain their lost mass. He himself had been working on devising a way to do just that, and it had been working decently, but not as quickly as he’d like.

“Yeah, I’ve heard I tend to differ from most of our counter parts.” He rubs the back of his neck. “So what brings you here?”

Jogging wasn't enough. All might ventured off campus to a gym recommended to him. He walked on in.
"Hey. anyone here?"
He hears the voice and turns suddenly.
“Welcome to Plus Ultra- ....” He pauses for a moment.
“Oh.... Hello All Might.” Yup just another day for him. Never know when an alternate might pop in.
Toshi stop making me want to play more of a canon verse just so I can be the dad might that makes notebooks for his son.

She stretched her arms up above her head as she leaned back in her chair. Paperwork was at long last completed and now all that was left was getting it sent in and that would be that. She sighed and took of sip of her tea now before getting up from her desk. She supposed now would be a good time for a patr- HOLY CRAP IT’S NINE AM?
She stares wide eyed at her watch for a moment. Okay. Breakfast. Yeah. That was a thing she needed to do. Probably go home and take a shower. Holy fuck how did she pull an all nighter just to finish paperwork? Again.... .....
..........
Okay so it wasn’t the first time but still. How? She rubs the back of her neck. Well time to head home she supposes. Or at least that’s what she thought, but she never expected to come across a certain someone in the lobby of her agency.
“........” She kind of just stares. What’s he doing here? She’s not dreaming right?
He checks his phone for the date. Looks again at the date on his PC to make sure he’s not missing something.
“...... Y’all’re nasty.”

Enji is shocked when he’s pulled to Toshi and he reels back for a punch. They start to slow, they’re still going to hit the ground but now they’re looking at harsh bruises and maybe a fracture or two rather than death or multiple deep breaks.
The softened impact still wasn’t great. Both of them would be sore tomorrow, but it was far better than the alternative. Yagi had taken most of the final blow, but Enji was still jarred. Groaning in pain himself. He recovered a bit sooner and pushed away from Toshi.
He gasps for air, his entire body is sore, incredibly so, and when he tries to peel himself out of the small crater they had made in the wall he finds himself doubled over in pain. Jeeze how many fractures did he likely have as a result of that shoddy landing? A couple? No definitely more than that. Thankfully nothing seems too serious though.
“Well... we’re alive, right?” He laughs sheepishly, ow that hurts. Using the wall as support he slowly stands up, oh yeah that hurts, and straightens himself out. “I hope senpai was able to catch that villain.” He feels bad for leaving her alone up there, but he didn’t have much of a choice when he noticed Enji got flung. Oh they were likely going to get an ear full later.
“You alright En-” he catches himself for a moment, right codenames he should have used his codename, shit... “-deavor?” He holds a hand out for him.

What Toshinori does next was more instinct than anything as the two of them plummet to the ground. He pulls Enji close to himself, holding him close to his body with one arm as if to protect him before reeling back the other as if to punch some invisible enemy. Honestly he doesn’t know what he’s doing, he’s never done something like this before, but....
“SMASH!”
He throws a super powered punch out before they hit the ground, generating enough air pressure just from the one punch to not only halt their descent but send them down the street several yards? Well skipping like a stone across the pavement, cause he wasn’t ready for that, was certainly better than going splat against it at who knows how fast. Although he doubted Enji would agree by the time Toshinori is taking the final brunt of impact against his back when they hit a wall finally. “Nnngh, ow.”

“Oh stop I’m not that special..” David chuckled with a tinge of pink appearing on his face.
Somehow Toshi would always know what to say or do to make him smile or get him flustered somehow and now was no different. He didn’t think of himself as All that special compared to other heroes but at least Toshi thought he was amazing and that was good enough for him for now.
“ARE YOU JOKING!?” He not only raised his voice but spoke in English for a moment. “You really are amazing Dave. You can do lots of things other heroes can’t. Not to mention you make all of your own support gear! That really is amazing! No more than amazing!” He’s adamant about this, so much so that when the server returns with their food she seems confused for a hot minute before just smiling and leaving without another word.

Yagi really couldn’t take a hint, could he? Either that or he was annoyingly persistent.
“No, I’m not interested in working together.” Enji replied increasing his walking pace to the cafeteria. He was hungry and craving protein. He had been surprised to learn just how good the food at UA was. Wasn’t as good as home cooking, but still delicious. Cheap to. They had an intense combat class planned for today so he was considering getting two beef bowls.
Wow. Okay so he hadn’t expected Enji to accept his offer, but that didn’t make getting totally blown off hurt any less. He hangs his head and sighs. “We just do not get along huh...” He mutters to himself. He however doesn’t do to the cafeteria, instead he goes to eat on the roof. He was notorious for bringing his own massive picnic sized bentos, plus being alone gave him a chance to think over new moves, strategies, and how to best improve going forward.
...... How was he going to improve going forward though? Especially if Enji wouldn’t cooperate? Maybe he’ll devise a plan to get Enji to listen to him later.

“Well good that way I don’t have to do it myself. I ain’t afraid of going to jail or losing my hero career over it either! But at least he’s gone now and you don’t have to worry about him again. Let’s not worry about that though we’re here to talk and have a good time right? So let’s not this bring the mood down! Least now it’ll make it much easier for me to carry you around..” David responds as he gives the blonde a thumbs up and a big smile, trying to reassure him like Toshi always did for him.
“So… What do you think of me becoming a hero? You don’t think it was stupid of me to do it right?”
Toshinori smiles a bit, Dave’s enthusiasm really did help brighten the mood. “Yeah you’re right, we’re here to catch up, let’s not worry about a bunch of stuff!” When he mentioned how his smaller form would make it easier to carry him though he flusters, “Pfff... Why would you need to carry me? I can still handle myself Dave! I mean I appreciate the thought but.....” Oh boy he’s flustered but thankfully Dave changes the topic and Toshinori just takes a deep breath.
“I think it’s amazing. I’ve always thought you’re amazing though, and really you are.” He smiles softly.
