Toshinori clutched his chest tight and tried to bite back the coughing fit he could feel rising up in his throat.Ever since he retired, both students and teachers had been coming by to check on him at his apartment, and he greatly appreciated their concern for him but he never wanted them to see him when he was having a bad day, except for midoriya and the teachers. He finally got a hold of his breathing as he looked up from the couch as heard the knock on the door. "Come in the door is unlocked.."
It just never felt right, having to check up on someone that used to be so powerful. And he wouldn’t, had he not been practically forced. How could anybody else stomach it? Walking up to that door, hesitating to knock, to let himself in when called...
The sight never failed to sink his heart, such a withered and frail man slumped on his couch, clearly shaken from an earlier fit. In his heart, Bakugo didn’t want any of it to be true - but the twist in his stomach told him that he couldn’t take any of it back. And the guilt piling on his shoulders could have broken his back, had it bared any real weight.
“ - Here to see you,” he muttered, tearing eyes away from the broken man before him, “Need anything?” Keep it short, keep it simple, and leave as soon as possible. The floor was so much easier to look at.
Fists at his sides shook, telling all too much about the emotions he was actively fighting back.
