Happy International Women's Day! I could not be more honoured to share my birthday with such an important day. I grew up in a matriarchy where it was never assumed that because I was a girl I couldn't do something. My mom taught me to never settle for someone and that I didn't need to have a boyfriend/husband to determine my worth. She encouraged (aka I didn't have an option) to take tech in highschool, where I was one of 2 girls in a class of boys. I learned to build things, fix things, and discovered my love of photography. When I turned 15 I was sent out with my dad and uncles to go hunting because my gender was no excuse. I was raised to be independent and to understand there was nothing I could not do if I wanted to. Thank you to my parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents and more for making me who I am today. #internationalwomensday #march8
