A few days has gone by since Enjin and the kids came home. They've been buzzing around with excitement for the big move that's happening in 12 days from now. For the last 4 days, you all have been busy packing and storing things within the storage unit you rented. Your home was now pretty empty but not uncomfortable. Your couch was still in your home, tvs, beds, 2 pots, 2 pans, a skillet, 6 spoons, 6 forks, 6 knives, 4 plates, 4 bowls, and 4 cups. Perishable foods were still within your home, along with the exception of rice.
Everyone's clothes that were boxed and labeled as "going out clothes" were stored within the units, along with extra blankets, pillows, sheets, mirrors, makeup, lamps, rugs, decorative pictures and simple decor. Your home had a bit of an echo now, and it was slightly saddening but also exciting. At the moment, you were all at the market, having a family outting, shopping for snacks, fruits, vegetables, some new shoes for Rudo, some wood polisher for Zanka's staff, more underwear for Enjin, his were full of holes... You weren't surprised, and new undergarments for Riyo in general, she's grown since you last seen her, unlike Enjin however, she made sure to alert you that she couldn't fit them anymore, so to charity it went.
It's been a while since you've all gone out as a family, a long while. You forgot how rowdy it was. Part of you missed it, the other part not so much. You were looking through the fruits at a stand, picking them up and inspecting them for brushing or withering. Rudo had a keen eye for things like this, so he's been your designated helper. Enjin was standing behind you both, holding bags from previous purchases. Next to him was Zanka, who was also holding a few bags. Riyo stood next to you, opposite of Rudo. She wasn't doing much, but staring at the crowd, she had a habit of 'people watching'. But she was quiet and relaxed.
"What about this one, Mama (Y/N)?" Rudo asked as he picked up an apple. You looked over, taking it from his hand gently, you inspected it, giving an approving smile before you dropped it in the brown paper bag with a handle that was resting on your forearm. "Good pick, Rudo." You sweetly praised, he didn't smile, but his eyes gleamed in pride. "Ya'll done yet?" Enjin asked, a relaxed yet bored look on his face as he watched you both. You hummed in thought, your eyes scanning over the apples once more before you looked down at your bag. Seeing that you had about 7 apples, you nodded. "Yup!" You responded without looking back at him before you began speaking to the merchant selling the apples.
Enjin sighed in relief, Zanka's own shoulders slightly dropped in relief as well. He wasn't as verbal as Enjin unless he had to be, but Zanka would usually stand guard by you for as long as needed, even if he was bored. Enjin, on the other hand, would voice his boredom, roll his eyes, sigh, and pout until you'd either send him a warning glare or just fuss at him. After paying for the apples, you all made your way throughout the market, more sightseeing than actually buying anything. There wasn't a point since you were moving soon.
You were mainly there to get the kids some things and some food so as to not starve for these last 12 days. As you all walked, Zanka, Rudo, and Riyo all yapped about things that either went over your head or about what they wanted to do when they got home. They were all ahead of you and Enjin, in their own little world as they spoked and walked. You took in their appearances. You noticed it when they all walked through the front door that day, but you didn't think too much on it at the time. However, now you can't help but think about it.
They were all growing up so fast. Zanak was almost as tall as Enjin now, Rudo's shoulders weren't as small as they used to be, and Riyo's undergarments were all pretty much donated to charity now. It saddened you a bit, your happy smile was now suken into a solemn one. You watched them all, seeing something catching Rudo's eyes, his hands coming up, palms upwards, and he did a little up and down motion, it didn't miss Zanka's keen eyes. "Do that shit again, and I will punch your lights out." He threatened.
Rudo snatched his head at him before he looked back at you with an accusing stare. You sighed. "Zanka, don't be threatening my baby now." You warned lightheartedly, Zanka groaned, Riyo chuckled, and Rudo looked smug. Enjin sighed from behind you, at peace, out with his little family. He watched with an amused stare, a smirk slowly blossoming on his face. "Six-seven!!" He randomly shouted, making two things happen. You jumped, and Rudo reacted immediately, his hands doing a dramatic motion as he excitedly shouted. "SIX-SEVEN!!" Riyo laughed loudly, and Zanka groaned in annoyance. You simply watched in bewilderedment. "Six-seven??" You gently questioned.
The rest of the trip was uneventful, finally making it back to the truck. The boys packed everything up in the trunk while you and Riyo sat in the truck. Listening to both Zanka and Rudo bicker about which bag went where, while Enjin calmly directed them on who should place which item where. Riyo sat in the back, she was watching the boys, her legs stretched out over the seat while her arms laid folded across the back of it, her chin resting on her folded arms, a relaxed yet amused look on her face as she watched them struggle, every now and then she would adjust a bag, placing it where Enjin said to place it, but Zanka and Rudo weren't the best at listening when they were bickering.
You sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window ahead of you, a relaxed yet thoughtful expression on your face as you stared at the people shopping through the market ahead of you. Thinking about what all else either needed to be packed, bought, thrown away, or donated. Your lazy gaze shifted over the people for a while, only to gleam with surprise when you saw a few familiar faces. Standing in the crowd at one of the stands was Zodyl, Jabber, and a tall, white man with a hat on. You stared, observing how Zodyl spoke to Jabber. It seemed they knew each others. It was shocking, honestly.
You honestly kind of forgot that the two men even existed. You watched them curiously for a while. They looked as though they were debating on buying something. The driver's door suddenly opened, and you slightly jumped, having not realized that they had been closed the trunk and have now packed themselves into the truck. Enjin looked at you with an arched brow in amused, but with a slight gleam of concern in his eyes as he got into the truck. "You alright, babe? You seemed real out of it for a sec there." He asked as he closed the door. You sighed as you nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just thinking is all." You said with a sigh. He buckled his seat belt, something he doesn't usually do unless he's driving with you, because you will reprimand him about his actions if he didn't. "Thinking about what?" He asked curiously as he adjusted the seat belt across his chest. You answered honestly. "Well, at first, I was just thinking about the move and what all I gotta do, but then I noticed my new neighbor and a friend of theirs, I guess shopping in the market together just now. And it shocked me to see that they knew each others." You explained.
He stared at you with a clam yet amused face. "Oh yeah? What neighbor? Point em out." He said, already looking out the windshield. You looked forward, getting ready to point, but you stopped short as they were long gone. Your brows tensed in confusion as your eyes shifted frantically, trying to search for them before you sat back in your seat. "Huh... Well, never mind then. Guess they left." You said lightly. He chuckled lightly as he turned the key, starting up the car, making it come to life with a gentle vibration. "Damn, whelp guess we're done now, yeah?" He said dismissively, not really caring about the neighbor or whatever. In all honesty, he was ready to go home and sleep.
You stared at the crowd a bit longer before you sighed and shook your head, also dismissing the thought. "Yeah, we're pretty much done." You answered. He nodded as he put the truck into drive and pushed the gas, driving you all back home. Stepping out from behind a stand was Zodyl, a blank stare on his face as he watched the truck slowly become a small spec in the distance. Jabber casually walked up to him, hands behind his head as he stood next to him, a wide smile on his amused face as he watched Zodyl. "That was our chance ta' snatch 'er boss!! Why didn't we do it?" He asked curiously. Zodyl said nothing for a moment, the truck now gone, but his eyes remained locked on the spot where he last seen it.
"I don't want to risk hurting her... or causing a scene... Besides... She had Rudo with her, and I still need him to join me... We need to move smart, or else I won't be able to obtain anything at all. Not her, Rudo, the Watchman items, or the Sphere..." He calmly explains. Jabber openly sighs, not out of complaint but more out of understanding and amusement. "Damn.... And I really wanted to run the ones with Zanka again... and to get my get back with the red-haired bitch... Now that I now she keeps her pole on her, I know how to deal with her." He loudly thought.
Zodyl paid Jabber no mind, his thoughts on how he was going to obtain you, without so much as a fuss... He could just have Chitoni warp you to him in an instant... But then you'd reject him, and by default, Rudo would too... He had to play his cards right. He had to get you, and he has 12 days to do it, but how?... This thought plagued him all the way back to their new 'hideout', which was right above your apartment. Opening the door, he walked inside. Both Jabber and the man followed him inside. Zodyl quietly looked around, trying to think of a way to lure you here along with Rudo.
Items possibly could work, but that could only go so far. Food wasn't an issue for you, and neither was money. He needs something that both you and Rudo weren't immune to... something you could both benefit from together, possibly... "Boss?" A timid voice called out to him, his distant gaze locked in, and he looked up, seeing a young boy, the youngest amongst his followers. "What is it, Fu?" He asked the boy. Fu's fingers twiddle together nervously, his eyes shifting in every which way except towards himself.
He was used to Fu's timid nature. It sometimes annoys him to no end... Seeing someone so weak, fragile, and needy was rather tiredsome. Zodyl didn't have a loving nor nurturing spirit about himself. He was severely lacking in that department... It's always an amusing thought how someone like Fu was gravitate more towards him than towards a figure much like yourself. Children like Fu seem to call your immediate attention... His eyes widen.
"U-ummm... I- I was wondering... I-if... I could- " Fu began nervously, slowly finding the courage to finally speak, but was unfortunately cut off by his 'loving' boss. "Fu... How would you like to go play and make some new friends?" Zodyl suddenly asked. Fu's nervous eyes widened as he finally looked up at his boss. ".... Huh?"
Downstairs, in your apartment, life was proceeding as regular. You're in the kitchen cooking some rice, Riyo is in her room doing whatever, Enjin's on the couch watching TV slowly dozing off, while Zanka and Rudo was in their own room as well, but the quietness always has to end with thoes two. "GIVE IT BACK!!" Yelled Zanka, you sighed as you steered the rice. "WHY SHOULD I??!!!" Rudo retaliated. Enjin's once half lided eyes eyes were now slightly more alerted, but he didn't flinch. He didn't even make a move to stop the commotion. He never did, always leaving the disciplining to you. He just gave life lessons... in the form of 'manhood', he was full of shit though.
The sound of thumping, banging, and something crashing to the floor sounded out as you were sure they were wrestling over whatever it was that Rudo snatched from Zanak. "OWW!!" Zanka yelled. "ALRIGHT YOU TWO, THAT'S ENOUGH, QUIT IT!!" You shouted, them wrestling wasn't always an issue, it was whenever someone cried out, is where you'd draw a line. It got quiet for a moment. You knew it wouldn't last long. It never did.
A loud band suddenly sounded out, making you jump from how intense it was. "WHAT WAS THAT?" You shouted out in slight panic, receiving no answer. You quickly tapped the spoon on the pot of rice before placing it down. "WHAT HAPPENED!? WHAT WAS THAT NOISE!?" You shouted once more, receiving no answer, you shook your head making your way out of the kitchen and over towards the stairs. Not gonna lie. You were lowkey fuming.
Your number one pet peeve was that 'You shouldn't have to stop whatever you were doing, to come check on their big asses.' Half way through the living room, you stopped as the sound of footsteps running down the stairs sounded out. Placing your hands on your hips, you waited. Rudo came down first, holding what looks to be a magazine, and his face was twisted in annoyance, anger, and pain, while Zanka chased after him at full speed. "RUDO!!!" Zanka yells desperately, but Rudo ignores him, stopping before you with a pointed glare, not towards you but for Zanka, and from the looks of it, it's laced with revenge.
Zanka stops right behind him, a panicked look on his face. Your eyes bounce between the two. "What is going on?" You asked, annoyed yet curious. Rudo said nothing as he held the booklet up towards you, and Zanka practically ripped his hair out. You arched a brow taking the magazine, you looked it over, it didn't take long for you to know what it was. The picture of a naked woman was all the evidence you needed. "Why is this in my house???" You asked sharply. Rudo looked back at Zanka. "Yeah, Zanka... Why?" He asked angerly.
Zanka's face was bright red, his lips sunken in, and he was almost glowing from embarrassment. "I-I-I..... Its.... I... don't.. know?" You gave him an unimpressed, disbelieving stare while Rudo smiled at him with evilness. "You don't know, huh? Where'd you get it from...?" you questioned, your glare slowly trailing towards the couch where Enjin sat, but he was long gone, not even an imprint was left behind. You had a suspicion that he got this from his big grown ass.
The sound of knocking on your front door sounded out, catching all of your attention. You looked back at Zanka, rolling up the magazine. You pointed it at him with a warning glare. "Gather up all your little porn mags and bring them to the kitchen." You said, leaving no room in your tone for argument. Zanka stiffly nodded before he glared down at Rudo, who had a smug smirk in his face. Through clenched teeth, Zanka answered. "Yes, ma'am." He said angerliy before he stormed upstairs. Rudo watched with evil glee.
To be honest, when Rudo found it, the original plan was to just tease Zanka, wrestle with him for a bit, blackmail him into doing his chores for the remainder of the time they had here and then call it a day. But no, because Zanka just had to get crazy and bodyslam the absolute soul out of him in your bathroom, on the hard tile floor. If it was on carpet, then it would've been fine, but it wasn't, and that shit hurt. He wanted to cry out in pain, maybe throw a tantrum, add some tears for the added effect and then go run and tell on his bitch ass. Buuuut, since Zanka got crazy, he did too, and just went ahead and ratted him out. Why? Because fuck him that's why.
You shook your head in disbelievement before another knock on your door sounded out. You walked over to the door, and Rudo ollowed behind, curious as to who it could be. You unlocked it and opened it, and your annoyance turned into confusion when you saw a young boy at your door. His hair was parted down the middle, and it seemed badly layered. The top was white while the bottom was red. He wore a simple short sleeve, light blue shirt, with some khaki cargo shorts. His eyes were wide, and his fingers twiddle nervously.
He spoke up, his voice soft and timid. "Ummmm......Hi......Umm....... I-I'm Fu....and umm........ I- me and my family...... we just moved in....u-uptairs???..." He very nervously said, introducing himself timidly. Your heart went out to the boy. You took in his appearance, and he looked to be no older if not younger than Rudo. You looked outside, searching for any parents or for any of the older children you had seen earlier. Like Jabber. Not seeing anyone, you looked back back down at Fu and smiled at him sweetly, making his nervous twiddling slightly slow down.
"Well, Hi Fu. I'm (Y/N), and this is Rudo. Welcome to the neighborhood!!" You said welcoming him. Fu looked down at Rudo. They were about the same height. Rudo was leaning against you, his head resting on your shoulder as he studied the Fu. He gave Fu a curious yet welcoming stare as he waved silently in greeting. Fu waves back. You smiked at the silent exchange, finding it enduring honestly. "So Fu, what brings you to my door?" You kindly ask, hands on your hips.
He perks up nervously at your question. "U...ummmm well..... I-I wanted to see...... I-If I could play.... with your....... son?" He asked his slowly, getting softer and quiter as he slowly lost what little confidence he had. Rudo arches a brow at the boy. "You want to play with me?" He asks, standing up straight as he slides more into view. You widen the door as you step back so that Rudo can step forward. Fu nervously nods, a shaky smile forming on his face. "Why?" Rudo bluntly asks, Fu flinched, and you wack the rolled up book on Rudo's head. "Ow!! MOM!!" He fussed as he lightly glared up at you.
You glared back down at him as you waved the rolled up weapon at him warningly. "Be nice, Rudo!" You warns. He rubs his head with a dejected glare before he looks back at Fu. Fu just stared at him nervously. 'Mom?.. He really sees her as mom?... Must be nice.' He thought sadly as he observed you and Rudo. "Ummm.... There's a park up the street... Do you wanna hang out there?" Rudo asks, slightly awkward. Fu's eyes widen, and he figured it would've been harder to speak to Rudo. From what Zodyl told him, Rudo was hot-headed. However, speaking with the boy now... he didn't seem that way at all... If anything, he was rather friendly.
A wobbly smile stretched across his face. "Yeah!!" He happily agreed. You smiked down at the boys, mentally celebrating at Rudo's potential first friend, aside from the people at HQ. You invited Fu in for a bit, getting the child out of the heat for a while before the two made their grand adventure towards the park. Watching Fu go into your apartment from the stairs was Jabber, a proud smile upon his face. He looked back behind him, signaling an okay with his fingers. "We're in, baby." He said.
Further up the stairs sat Zodyl, his eyes locked on Jabber. "Just as planned. She would've instantly taken to a stray child, especially one as docile and nervous as Fu... It was bound to be a success." He said plainly. Jabber stared up at his boss with a gleam in his eyes. "Damn... You're so damn cool." He said. Within your apartment, Fu sat stiffly on Rudo's bed, his eyes wide with fear, knees locked together tightly, and his sweaty hands pressed down into his lap. 'So... is this what sibling rivalry looks like?... Or is this just... them?' He thought, confused as he watched both Zanka and Rudo wrestling on the middle of the floor in their room.
He wasn't sure what the fight was about, but listening to their little bickering before the wrestling match began, he assumed it had something to do with magazines? His attention was shifted from the duo on the floor to the sound of a door opening. He looked up, seeing a girl with long red hair, walking to the open doorway. She watched with bored amusement at the two. "Damn Zanka!! I didn't think you even liked girls!! You never showed any interest.~" She teases her smirk wide yet relaxed.
Sitting on the floor, Rudo was caught in a full Nelson, struggling to break free, while Zanka's face blushed red, and his eyes bulged as he stared at her. "HUH!? THE HELL ARE YOU ON ABOUT!?" He shouted. Riyo laughed at Zanka's reaction. "You seriously thought I of all people didn't know?? Really now?" She teased as she placed a hand on her hip. Rudo tried to reel his head back into Zanka's nose, but he quickly maneuvered Rudo into a different grapple, restraining him slightly sideways now.
Fu mentally cringed at the uncomfortable looking position. Zanka fussed. "SHUT UP, RIYO!! YOU'RE A CREEP!!" He accused. She gasped dramatically as she placed a hand on her chest. "The pot can't call the kettle black, I'm not the one gooning to half naked and probably completely nude women on a piece of crumbled up paper with dried cum on it from another man." She said. Fu's eyes widen, and his face glows red. 'THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT THOES TYPE OF MAGAZINES!?' He mentally shouted.
Zanka flared red, getting ready to counter before your voice sounded out. "ALRIGHT GUYS, IT'S LUNCH TIME!!!" You shouted, almost like clock work, everything stopped, one last glare from Zanak towards Riyo. Riyo sticks her tongue out at him. Rudo squirmed in Zanka's professional grapple. Zanak gave him one last rough squeeze, causing Rudo to wince some. After that, they all dispersed. Riyo walked away, Zanak released Rudo with a rough shove before he stepped over him, and Rudo tumbled forward, rubbing his aching joints before he too stood up and followed the two out.
Fu sat there a moment longer before he flopped back on Rudo's bed. "How long do I have to do this for?... It hasn't even been an hour yet, and already I'm missing the group. Jabber... I can handle , but this?... This a mental asylum." He whined. He laid there a moment longer, thinking over what his boss told him to do.
"I want you to befriend the children that reside in (Y/n's) apartment... Then, I want you to gain (Y/n's) trust." He explains. Fu stared up at him with wide eyes. He was terrified but also so excited. His boss was finally relying on him for a job!! Zodyl was sitting on the couch, legs spread as his arms rested on them. He eyes locked on Fu.
Fu stood before him, tense and alerted. Zodyl then looked over to his right, seeing the same tall, white man with a hat on from earlier, stand in the entry to the kitchen and next to him was a tall, white woman with long blonde hair, her arms cross. Zodyl addressed them both. "Bundus.. Norde... You will be Fu's parents." He said, assigning roles. The man tiped his hat, and the woman tapped her finger against her upper arm. Zodyl's eyes drifted over towards the space behind Fu, against the wall was Chitoni. "Chitoni, you will be Fu's older sister." He said, and Chitoni nodded.
He didn't look, but behind him was Jabber, leaning back on the wall that housed the stairs. "And what about me, boss!!?" Jabber asked excitedly. "You'll be the family dog." Chitoni spat with a roll of her eyes. Jabber sucked his teeth, and he fanned her off. "I'm sensing your hating ass spirit, but I ain't even gonna trip on you, for real." He said dismissively. Zodyl spoke up. "You'll also be Fu's older sibling. Bundus and Norde are a couple who have trouble with having children of their own... So they resorted to adoption instead." Zodyl explained.
Jabber chuckled. "Oh okay, because I was about to say boss man... I ain't a doctor or whatever... but I'm pretty sure eyebrows would've been raised." Jabber said jokingly. Fu's fingers twiddle once more, his nerves eating at him. Zodyl watched him, as whenever Fu did that, it meant he had a question. "Um....... So...... I-I just.. Walk over there?" He asked timidly. Zodyl nodded. "Excatly, your job is to get us in. It's up to you to open up (Y/n's) home to us. Rudo, Riyo, and the umbrella user have seen all of our faces, aside from Fu, who Rudo and Riyo haven't met yet. The only one who's seen you, is the Umbrella user, and Zanka has only met Jabber" Zodyl explains.
Fu's eyes shifted around. "W-what am I-" He was cut off by Zodyl. "If you're spotted by the umbrella user, act clueless, you won't be dressed as you are now... You'll be dressed as a normal civilian. He shouldn't be able to recognize you so easily... Men are simple creatures, after all." Zodyl explained, easing Fu's concerns.
Laying on the bed, Fu sighed before he stood up and slowly made his way downstairs. 'You know the job... Get information, understand their family dynamics, get associated, report, and repeat.' He thought, repeating what Chitoni told him right before he left. Once at the bottom of their stairs, he looked towards the kitchen, seeing everyone move about in the kitchen, getting plates and filling them with food before they walked over to the table. He swallowed his never before he shuffled over to the entrance of the kitchen. He silently watched everyone.
Enjin was already at the table, leaning back in his chair, his plate already full, you sat across from him, your plate already full too. You were both waiting for everyone else to get their plates as well. Riyo was able to fill her plate with no issues, being the first of the kids to sit down, while Rudo and Zanka shoved, fussed, and bickered as they kept accidentally clashing their utensils with one another, you sighed shaking your head before you lazily looked over and perked up when you seen Fu. You honestly forgot he was here. "Oh my goodness, Fu!! I completely forgot about you!!" You said as you quickly stood up. Enjin slightly stiffen at the name, his eyebrows twitching before he looked over at the entrance.
Fu's breaths staggered as he tensed up under Enjin's gaze. They both stared at one another. 'Please don't recognize me, please don't recognize me, please don't recognize me!!!' He mentally chanted as he stared at Enjin. Enjin took in his appearance, his gaze tense. Riyo watched the interaction curiously, her chin propped up on the back of her hand. Zanka and Rudo stopped what they were doing as well, eyes locked on Enjin. Everything was tense, and Fu knew that all Enjin had to do was bearly bat an eye, and everyone would be on him. It was all ended with a proper wack to the back of Enjin's head from you, making Enjin break eye contact as he held the back of his head.
"Ow!! Damn woman!! Hell, wrong with you!?" He fussed. You raised your hand again, acting like you were gonna smack him once more. "Boy, I outta!!" You warned, but he ducked and covered his head. You lightly glared at him a little longer before you smiled at Fu. "Come on in, hon!! You're welcome to come eat with us too." You invited him. Honestly, your smile was more than welcomed. Enjin huffed in annoyance as he pouted, and everyone went back to what they were doing, almost as if nothing had happened. Fu stood there shaken. 'Wow.... Cleaners.... They're scary.' He thought.
