"You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life."
— Winston Churchill (via realizes)
State Bed, Kedleston Hall.
Nice To See You Again | Duke and Cindy
The heavy clops of hooves against cobblestone ground below and Juliet kept her head low as she watched her shiny hooves against the smooth colours of the rocks. Her tail gave a lazy swish back and forth as she moved carefully along—she didn’t wish to step on any cat or small child. But seeing a pair of plain shoes made her head snap up. Slightly curious of the bowing girl before her, she reached out her head to sniff the sweet scent of the female. Unbeknownst to Juliet, she was probably tickling the poor girl with her fuzzy lips and wispy bangs.
"J-Juliet!"
The Duke tugged at the reins of his horse nervously as she made a snort at him in return.
"M—mademoiselle, I’m sorry for—"
He paused, staring at the auburn head of hair with intrigue. Pulling at his horse’s leather reins to nudge her away from the girl, he leaned in slightly to get a better look at the young lady’s face. She looked familiar. Even those clothing …
"You … look familiar."
Theodore, biting his lip as he felt his cheeks burn, he continued to look down at the young lady bowing before him.
Wait—!
Then, a smile of the brightest ones, appeared on his thin lips. Snapping his fingers, he nodded to himself with wide eyes.
"M-may I look at your face, mademoiselle?"
The Duke fully understood how strange that must have sounded, but he needed to know. Was it her?
When the royal's horse moved to sniff at Cinderella's hair rather fervently, Cindy couldn't help but to giggle at the bristling of horse whiskers against her hair. Without thinking, she lifted her head up to gently rub her hand against the horse's nose. She remembered her father and how he enjoyed his animals; how he had even owned a horse once and treated her like a special gift.
Cindy was so caught up in her reverie that she barely heard what the Duke had been saying until she looked up and met his eyes. She recognized him from somewhere; a recent encounter that she had nearly forgotten about. She then realized in that moment how she was smiling ear to ear--probably looking like a fool for it.
"Oh!" She squeaked "I'm terribly sorry. She is a very nice horse." She said before removing her hand from the horse's nose and folding it together with her free hand. She wasn't entirely sure what to do next. Had she offended him in some way? She was sure to get in some trouble if she did.
Nice To See You Again | Duke and Cindy
It was nice to escape the palace every once in a while (well, more like it was nice to escape the king and his rants about being grandchild-less and wanting lots and lots around while the Prince sighed and rolled his eyes). Astride his dear and beloved horse Juliet, the Grand Duke made his way through the small village. For once, he was without his faithful squire, for the Duke wished to be alone today; to be lost in his thoughts.
The commoners moved for him, all greeting him warmly and giving him free food as he passed them. It was rare when a royal would come all the way down from the beautiful and lavish palace to visit among the common folk as they hurried on to their day-to-day lives. But all were welcoming and had open arms to any newcomer (or royal) they saw. The Duke thanked them, tipping his long hat to them as he and Juliet moved along.
Picking at the loaf of bread that was given to him, his chocolate brown eyes searched the area. It wasn’t like he was looking for something in particular—he just wanted to watch the common person continue with their jobs and lives. Wives with their husbands, children at play, the clucking of chickens; it was all so lively, unlike the dull silence that filled every hall in the palace. But when he noticed dark blonde hair shimmering in the light of the sun, he focused on it firmly and with wide eyes.
Could it be—?
Was it the bookstore beauty he met before? He met all those months ago? With a red face, he nudged Juliet into the direction of where the maiden stood. But when his dreadful vision became clear, he realized that it was not the same woman. No.
Frowning, his heart thumping sadly in his breast, he hung his head.
Sighing, he made a soft sound to Juliet and pulled her into the busy street. Why was he so disappointed? Clearly she had made quite the impression on him, and he wanted nothing more but to see her again.
Cinderella had another long day of spending her time tending to someone else's needs. If she wasn't such a selfless spirit, it might have bothered her. But in Cinderella's eyes, she was left without a blood family; her step family being the only thing she had left. And due to the mounds of tragedy she had dealt with in her lifetime, Cinderella held onto whatever she could. She truly felt as if she had nothing else.
It was rare for her to venture outside of her father's home but on this particular day, she managed to ask permission to go into the marketplace. What she had said wasn't false: the house was in need of a few items from the marketplace and with that, she was quickly on her way.
Cinderella had spent majority of her time gathering the items requested by her step family. It was busier then usual in the marketplace so it took a little time for Cinderella to find them all. It didn't help that the items were hard to find in the first place. But once she collected them, she felt satisfied enough to begin her own little adventure. Seeing that it had been a while since she had last visited the book store, Cinderella found her feet heading towards it before she could even think of it.
Just as she was heading around the corner towards the book store, she heard several of the people gasping and cheering. Turning around to see what the commotion was, Cinderella noticed a tall horse adorned with all of the displays of the royal palace. Immediately and before she noticed who rode atop the horse, Cinderella had dropped into a bow, hoping that the royal person would not interrupt her enjoyment for too long.
Ariel was quite happy to get away from Atlantica for a while. She loved her home, but swimming through the ocean for the teenager and exploring new things was just too fascinating. When she came up briefly above the water, she hoisted her upper body on to the rocks and stared up at the clouds. “What I would do to see those things every day.” she sighed, dreamily.
Cinderella had a long day of doing chores for her step-family. After she had visited the marketplace for the day, she found herself not wishing to return home so quickly. She soon found herself wandering around, eventually finding her way to a large body of water. Deciding to take a break, she found a suitable rock to sit upon and gazed out into the water. Amidst her daydreaming, she noticed a bright red...something floating in the water. As she attempted to look closer, the something spoke. "Oh my!" Cinderella yelped.

EVENT ANON! On the brightly-decorated streets of the French Quarter, a Krewe member in a mask waves to you from a Mardi Gras float. They skip up to you, resplendent in feathers and sequins, and hand you a thick slice of king cake. Bon appetit!
Cinderella had wandered into the French Quarter and as she stood staring at all the brightly colored decorations and listened to the uproarious laughter, she laughed at the masked person skipping up to her. Suddenly a slice of cake was shoved into her hands and she was too dumbfounded to know what to do. "T-thank you.." she managed to mumble out.
But they're so mean to you.
"Honestly I think they are just a product of their environment." Cinderella said with a shrug "They have grown up being taught that they had to be the best at everything, which sometimes resulted in them being mean. It’s sad, if you think about it; that they never grew up with love in their lives."
Do you like ANYTHING about your two step sisters?
"Uh..." Cinderella tapped her chin for a long while, trying to think. "Well I guess they both are pretty feisty. That's something, right?"
Tidying Things Up // Cinderella and OPEN
Cinderella was outside of her small cottage that she shared with her step-family, busying herself by brushing dust and dirt away from the front porch with a broom. She was humming softly, completely caught up in her imagination. This was a common occurrence for Cinderella; she found it far easier to throw herself into a made-up world then face the reality of her situation.
Just as she was nearing the edge of the property, she swept a large bit of dust into the air with a swift sweep of her broom. Hearing a muffled noise, she immediately looked up to realize she had brushed all of the dirt and dust onto someone's boots. "Oh dear! I'm so sorry!" she squeaked out.
