All is Well

Chapter 01 The year 2021 has so far been just like the others for the last 23 years: Very well. People are not on edge anymore, there have been absolutely no threats of violence from the Death Eaters since Voldemort's downfall. His name is even spoken as a part of history now that we know he is forever defeated. But is he? _____________ This roleplay is organized in chapters, much like a novel, -- the first chapter is All is Well. The second chapter will be released later on.

Lucy’s hunger for truth and knowledge should have been a fast pass ticket into the Ravenclaw Tower, but it was her hunger for exposure and power over others that landed her in the dungeons. This fiery-haired Weasley prides herself solely on the fact that she is convinced she knows people inside and out. She can read expressions and body language better than anybody, and she doesn’t take it for granted.

Her curious mind and open-minded upbringing is what keeps her from being swayed to the likeness of evil. But her desire to know more than everybody and to use it against them at the same time is what needs to be watched out for. The catch is: she has everybody’s interest at heart. She doesn’t want to harm anybody unless they deserve it. And, if they deserve it, she’ll go to the ends of the earth to expose that person.

Why be a Ravenclaw with an attitude when you can just be a Slytherin with a passion for knowledge and learning? Lucy believes the only way to expanding your horizons is to challenge your comfort zone. Explore outside of your friend group and befriend other, different people. Otherwise you’re spending your time standing still when you should keep moving forward. Besides, she looks fantastic in green.

Lucy took up an interest in writing a couple of years before she started at Hogwarts. She spent her mornings reading the Daily Prophet with her parents at breakfast and had quickly learned what makes a journalist credible, and what doesn’t. Though she focused her fascination of words and sentence structure on creating scripts and lyrics, her true love of seeking out the truth and writing about it came she was old enough to learn of her parents’ war stories.

The passion she felt coursing through her body when they spoke of their personal experience during the Battle of Hogwarts intoxicated her. Lucy dug up old newspaper articles stashed in boxes in their basement just to gather more information. After weeks of reading others’ writings on the events, she decided to rewrite her own feature stories by interviewing her parents first. Now, as a sixth year at Hogwarts, Lucy can be found listening to anybody who is will to talk to her about life events.

Now that rumors are being spread around school about young Death Eaters, Lucy has stuck close to Albus because she knows his plan, and she wants a part of it: as an investigator.

James has a serious chip on his shoulder. He is the eldest child of the famous Harry Potter, and he is constantly reminded of it. Being showered with compliments and never finding himself without a friend is the least of his worries. But keeping the look of legacy chivalrous and noble despite the need for competition and distrust for Slytherins, James experiences bouts of anxiety. When these occur, he will slip into empty corridors or even the library where he is never to be expected, just to find a moment of peace from the attention.

The most controversial part about him is his distrust of Slytherins and their house. Growing up in a very liberal and progressive family from all sides, James does not understand the concept of tradition that impedes on anybody’s freedom to live their best life. Which is why the beliefs behind the history of Slytherin angers him to no end. It is suspected that this love for muggles and muggleborns stems from his relationship with Aunt Hermione. This poses a difficult situation being that his younger brother is a Slytherin.

James tries his hardest to believe in the good Albus still has despite all of this. Though he has been very cautious around him now, James has begun to see that Albus is still the person he has always been: considerate and welcoming. He’s just relieved Lily was placed in Gryffindor.

Being an only child was James’ nightmare for two years. He was rambunctious and mischievous. This came from being restless. Much like his father and grandfather, James is quite the athlete. Competitive by nature and with a serious amount of energy and metabolism, James has always been unable to sit still. With the birth of Albus, he was capable of calming down just a bit because now he had somebody to spend time with that wasn’t an adult. Somebody he could relate to.

From day one, James had no doubt that Albus was capable of great things. They were unlike in many ways; James learning through conversation and Albus always asking hard-hitting questions. Despite all of that, he had no doubt Albus would do fine in life. When Lily was born, he had the same aspirations for her. However, she was different: He needed to protect her at all costs. She was a fragile, bundle of little girl, and James would never forgive himself if she was ever hurt.

Throughout the years, nothing has changed in the way James sees his siblings. He’s still proud of their futures and still threatening any boy who dares speak to his little sister. However, one thing has changed, and it stems from his lifelong hatred of Slytherin.

This deep disliking took an unexpected turn when Albus was sorted into Slytherin. James watched as his younger brother joined a different table than his. He picked up his cap from the seat he was saving, and kept quiet the rest of the feast. After a forced conversation brought forth by Harry himself did James finally understand Albus’ plan to use the connections he makes against their ambitions.

Another thing has changed: James is now destined to protect the life of both his siblings no matter what.

The Ravenclaw boy holds true to the characteristics of Slytherin much more than he does of his own blue and bronze alma mater. With a knack for calculation and a disbelief in the practice of being selfless, Henry was destined for the house of snakes, much like the rest of his family’s history.

Being that his deep love for charms, his introverted nature and his talent for using wisdom to fool those too stupid to see beyond his words, he was placed in Ravenclaw as was planned from a young age. Anything but Slytherin. Anything but Slytherin. Why continue your education among a group of people exactly the same as you when you’ve been that person all your life? Join another group of people to exercise something else for once: your brain.

Henry doesn’t believe in the practice of being selfless in the wake of other peoples’ sakes. If you cannot help yourself, how can you help others? In spite of that, he also does not fully believe in war -- at least, not the sort of war the wizarding world has found itself in time and time again. He finds the Death Eaters to be close-minded and racist. Therefore, he refuses to be associated with them. Unfortunately, one thing poses a difficult measure in the pursuit of keeping himself far from the dark side:

Henry Graham is a Nott. He is Adira’s older brother and the heir to the Nott family fortune. Be that as it may, he does not associate himself with his family for more than holiday gatherings. However, Adira is one of his students which makes disowning the Notts very difficult at the moment. As hard as he may try, Henry finds it difficult to entertain the thought of disowning her. He worries for her safety because he knows her better than anyone else. If there were to be an opportunity to keep her safe without crossing over, he would take it in a heartbeat -- even if it meant only she of the Notts would be safe.

The Sacred 28 is notably coined by Henry’s ancestor, which does not phase him one bit. But he knew from his first year at Hogwarts that that was not something to boast about if he were to befriend anybody outside of the society. Henry grew up being prepared to one day inherit most of the Nott fortune and legacy, he knows the ins and outs of the Dark Lord’s legacy despite any resilience he may try to shield himself with. Though, as he grows older, the knowledge and connections he still holds, he believes, will prove valuable in the years to come.

There is not one bone of goodness in this girl’s body, no matter how close you are to her. Though she may seem friendly if you fit her criterium for friendship, the moment she accepts you, she’s searching for what she can gain from you. She is the lesser important heiress to the Nott family, but Adira doesn’t let that stop her from portraying the biggest pureblood princess she can be. Her great-great-something-grandfather was responsible for the society, anyway.

Perhaps the modern Bellatrix Lestrange, Adira believes that blood purity is the only thing that can save the wizarding world from being too exposed to the non-magical world. Being that she is currently the oldest student at Hogwarts to be of the Sacred 28, Adira sees this as an opportunity to recruit for the Death Eaters as well as continue to bestow the importance of the society’s legacy upon its younger members. By doing this, she is convinced that she is Professor Slughorn’s favorite student in the Slug Club, contrary to popular belief.

Don’t have her fooled, nonetheless. It is widely recognized that people of a dark, cynical nature more than likely are battling demons on the inside. For Adira, however, her demons are on the outside, and she refuses to stand down until those mudbloods are extinct.

Primped and prepared from the day she was brought home from St. Mungos, Adira was to be the Princess of Notts, according to her mother, the Queen of Notts. Though the queen has since found herself back in the hospital many times due to numerous complications (poison has been suspected on multiple occasions), Adira can’t help but sneer at the very thought of holding the legacy of the Nott family upon her shoulders someday. Despite being the second child, she knows very well that her worthless brother, Henry, has no interest in taking up such a prestigious position.

Adira has spent her life so far feeling upset toward her brother’s refusal on joining the Death Eaters. And though she dreams of passing him in the race for inheritance, she cannot help but wish she had him on her side, yet not by her side. She finds his defiance an act of betrayal to their parents, whom she would never dream of defying. Regardless, his disinterest doesn’t stop her from consistently trying to persuade him and filling his head with reasons he should join.

Before the sorting hat could brush against a strand of her hair, it shouted Slytherin. Adira exudes the brash confidence and conniving personality of the stereotypical snake. Rightfully so because she had spent plenty of afternoons during her childhood playing at Malfoy Manner, befriending Scorpius from a young age. Little did they know, she was more interested in sneaking her way into her own secretive mentorship with Narcissa. And though she has not returned the favor to mentor Scorpius (because there’s nothing to gain from him), she keeps her learnings of being a proper pureblood lady at heart.

Like mother, like daughter. Kind, truthful and selfless. Dominique prides herself on being the least complex Weasley child of Bill and Fleur, and she likes it that way. She believes in the beauty of truth, and that’s what drives her relationships. Nonetheless, her love for humanity and humility in the face of evil could not sway the sorting hat to place her in Hufflepuff.

Dominique often finds herself immersed in artistic subjects over all others. Being half French, she basks in the glory of sharing cultural intellect that once created the greatest masterpieces the world has ever come to know. Literature, art, theatre, music, anything. If it sends her delving deep into another culture, time period or world, Dominique will find a place in her heart for it. And, yet again, none of these interests of hers could land her in Ravenclaw, either.

Gryffindor. Dominique is the definition of a lioness: loyalty, strength and courage. She greatly understands her worth in this world, magical or other, and she refuses to let it go unknown. Her humility allows her to walk in the shoes of others and her intellect allows her to understand the differences of those shoes she chooses to walk in. She is fiercely loyal to those she cares about and those who have not crossed her in the past. Confrontation is something she avoids, but she is not shy of it. She does not, however, believe in petty revenge. So expect her to save those who have crossed her if they find themselves in danger.

Just know that her debt is then paid. After that, it’s fair game.

They say being the youngest child is the best. Dominique disagrees. Her relationships with her siblings are wonderful and close nonetheless. Being the youngest means you’re babied well into your adulthood. And Dominique believes she’s an adult at the age of 16. Though she is not of age to learn apparition nor is she preparing to graduate just yet, Dominique believes her knowledge at this point is up to par with those much older than her. And with proper reasoning too:

From a very young age, Dominique has been exposed to literature and the arts. Her mother, Fleur, is adamant about keeping their half-French background alive and well and, by doing so, she instilled in her three children the importance of expression through art. Because of this, Dominique has a jittery travel bug in the back of her mind. She wishes to visit France for more than two weeks out of the year someday, and hopefully on her own, too. Because of her father’s occupation and affiliation with other countries as well, she just wishes to see the world and the difference in expression each location believes in. Until then, she finds solace in exploring her surroundings and has found herself doing this exploring at Hogwarts since her first year.

From her father, Dominique has picked up the importance of expressing yourself through truth and strength. She understands her place in this world, and it’s levels higher than the glass ceiling along with a team she’s proud of.

One of the most monumental downfalls of Scorpius’ entire personality is that he is easily conflicted and swayed on his own beliefs and opinions. He believes in the benefit of the doubt and seeing the reasoning behind everything. And this makes him extremely frustrated and has caused anger management issues in the past that have landed him in detention. His impulsive nature has grown worse over his time at Hogwarts, only calming down when he’s home.

We all know Scorpius Malfoy started as a kind boy his first year, not wanting to turn out like his father. But what we didn’t know was that, much like the majority of the Sacred 28 families, he too has a deep-running fear of the wizarding world becoming known to muggles. He has learned of their obsession with psychoanalyzing people and things they don’t understand. What would happen if they learned of witches and wizards residing among them? Scorpius couldn’t bear to think of the massacres.

Because of this fear that his grandfather has instilled in him, Scorpius has lately been swaying toward joining the rest of the Sacred 28 families In protecting the secrecy of their world. Not only that, but he has reason to believe his family will disown him if he does not choose that route. Slightly insecure of his own beliefs on what the world is like, Scorpius is fearful of change, but still possesses the natural cunning characteristics of any Slytherin legacy.

Being a Malfoy is not easy. It’s much more difficult than being a Potter, that’s for sure. And once Scorpius begun his first year at Hogwarts, he felt as free as ever to be away from the constant negativity and darkness his family possesses. From his childhood, Scorpius has been taught of the pureblood legacy and its importance -- mostly from his grandfather.

In spite of that, Scorpius had made a promise to himself that he would never follow in their footsteps. Not because he believes muggleborns should be put on a pedestal, but because he didn’t believe in war. He also knew the weight that his last name carried and worried for his progression through his years at Hogwarts should he turn out like his father.

His first year went smoothly. He proved to be a normal, non-confrontational wizard who happened to be a member of the Malfoy clan. Then his second, third and fourth years began to prove a bit more difficult once he started to rekindle relationships with other pureblood students he had grown up with. He was recruited into the Slug Club and had continued to stay close to Adira Nott. She persuaded him to believe in the evils of muggles finding out about their world.

His friendship with Albus Potter would turn slightly sour, with both of them unsure if they were still friends or if they were just using each other. He knew of James’ distrust of him, so being cautious around Albus was only common sense at that point. Moreover, Scorpius was confused on which route to take: Protect his place in his family and become a Death Eater, or use his last name, pureblood legacy and connections to keep tabs of the families he’s close with for his own future advantage.

Lovely, wonderful Harry Potter roleplay community,

It is with a huge heart and even bigger excitement that I announce the opening date of a new HP next gen roleplay: 22nd of July.

My name is Madi, and I will be the head admin of this group. I am giddy with glee to finally open my first roleplay group. It has been a dream of mine for a few years now.

With that being said, I am still working on characters. The first batch of biographies are set to be released sometime in June. (I will be out of the country during May.)
