Hey (with the intention of being kind to each other and helping each other in finding love in all shades and forms)
AAHHHHHH NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THE CONDITIONING IN THE SMALLEST OF THINGS OF BEING AN ELDEST DAUGHTER IN A DESI HOUSEHOLD!!! "oh you could've just said no and asked her to let you go because you really want this" OH SUSANNAH STFU YOU'VE NEVER FELT GUILTY FOR CHOOSING YOURSELF IN YOUR OWN HOUSEHOLD AND IT SHOWS (honestly, i'm glad Susannah. I love you, Susannah. I wish i were you, Susannah)
is it normal to be 21 and asking for permission to go see a movie? that too- ALONE? like i'm not gonna do anything- I just wanna sit and watch PHM and cry.
is it normal to tell you 21 year old child to sit back home and study?
to say I have lived twice wouldn't be so wrong over and over, I was taught and re-taught for all that i learnt was forgotten soon enough maybe that's why the wise men told to pray everyday Newly born when i opened my eyes, you were there observing just to make sure you recite over and over to me, years later the day you closed yours forever was nearer maybe I should've memorized how it was when you woke up from you sleep. yes, I was getting older but you were getting much older too I never got the feeling, for with each year i felt us getting closer too from grandchild to daughter and to friends, hopefully by the end of it maybe I should've written back to you, over post just like the older days.
I learnt civility, and with it controlling my emotions too i used to cry whenever as a baby and you would pick me up I still still cry in my commute every morning, but i don't see you I try to look for a sliver of you in every older person i talk to
I'll forever run after the car you drove I always turn look twice at the person who looks just like you i'll search for a sound that sounded just like you I know you see me failing to find you, and i hope you smile because that's winning for you.
life got so difficult, i made it back to the account i left 4 years ago on tumblr
two people who can't die but are willing to die for each other (2)
I just love watching old people fight:
to love—platonically, romantically, unconditionally—is to live. please don’t forget
Anthony and Colin: I'm a gentleman
Me, after seeing them practically ravish their ladies before marrying them: IS THE GENTLEMAN IN THE ROOM WITH US NOW?!
WerE YOU SENT BY SOMEONE--
girlhood is a spectrum
this whole album is literally “never take advice from someone who’s falling apart”
memory of nothing.
The rays from the television dances across my eyes
They show all that what's beautiful, hopeful and kind
And i almost feel good about my future
Before I sense a tension so tough and dark
like the ocean waves under the moonlight
It tosses me back to the corner and I see the love i had seen first
The one where one's dodging all that care and calls it nothing
And one's on the telephone line waiting to be heard,
And to be seen.
I see a love that enhances the soul and the mind
The one where both of them cry
They listen, they reply
And I realised it had only happened once.
And every other evidence is just a retelling of what was once.
I see the words etched among the clouds
"marriage makes men change"
I watch these deceiving letters pour down,
seep into all our skins and veins
Slowly evaporating the memory of men's sins.
For years now, they performed deadly rituals
Not only on my skin but also on my heart
Swelling it up with hurt which they mistook for love.
Not once was I ever heard,
Not once was I ever seen
Only a tool for their landscaping dreams.
I recall no memory of my heart being beaten to black and blue
But just the aching and hurting and the feeling that I still hate you.
if you asked me about any of the tunes to any song or any lyrics i’ve listened to in the past two hours i wouldn’t be able to tell you
I just think TTPD is not an album you can understand and fully digest in one listen or even a few listens and that's what makes it so great. It is accessible in terms of its melodies and high-level storytelling but the lyrical details are poetic and complex. I'm really just so excited to spend a lot of time with this album.
