Open Heart is back on hiatus due to two POC being candidates to being killed for a more "mature" story. Now, people are upset on both fronts- POC being mistreated and people who have to wait to see Ethan, basically.

As someone who hasn’t used the app in super long I don’t even know Open Heart, but as a Black person that has played this app, I’m not surprised at all. The company/app and even parts of the fandom had always given me weird vibes when it comes to how they treat POC characters. That planned plot has to be especially hurtful now. Thank you for updating me and I stand with the people who are upset. Hope they’re rewriting the story and not just waiting out for the outrage to settle down.

pb if you really just want to postpone chapters you already did... just don’t. because no matter how long your new hiatus will be, the feedback will be the same, trust me.

pb pushing back the chapters instead of actually reworking them is kinda distasteful. “we won’t kill off the black character(s)/characters of color NOW, we’ll just do it later!!! :)” as if that fixes anything??? if you’re gonna put the shit on hiatus at least do it so you can work on it, not just “hide it until further notice”

I keep seeing people say High School Story is overdramatic and boring.  Here’s the tea. We don’t love HSS for the plot. We love it for the characters we’re attached to, the head cannons we create, the nostalgia it brings from the OG Pixelberry app, and all of the fan content we share. The fandom is what makes it supreme.
