âŻ; Just as she thought she had gained some distance, her arm was tugged backwards. A panicked screech sounded, she had been caught. It was almost worse than trying to escape from Marines. She had decided, this was probably the most pathetic escape in history. She gave a somewhat grumpy childlike pout towards the man.Â
Returning the coin to him would be the right thing, especially in this sort of situation. She tried to move her arm, but he had quite the grip. She wasnât escaping now. Unless.. A grin suddenly replaced the grumpy look, she had an idea. âNo! Because you havenât truly caught me yet! Now I-Iâll make my flashy escape!â
With the hand that held the coin, she reached into her shirt, and pulled out a red ball, no bigger than the palm of her hand. It seemed to have something etched onto it, it looked like a Jolly Roger. âSuper Flashy Escape Bomb!â She threw it at the ground, and a puff of thick white smoke immediately filled the space between them.Â
Azure tugged at her restrained arm to pull free and make her run for it.. but his grip was too tight. She⌠failed to run away. After the smoke cleared, she was still choking on the fumes. Unfortunately, the man was still there.Â
â⌠Dammit.â
The childish pout was ignored with slight irritation, but he gave her his own sort of look--an annoyed frown. Somehow interacting with the young thief this way made him truly feel his age, despite his appearance that was usually taken care of by himself or a fellow crew-member (Specifically Lao), he was pretty old, but not as old as his captain.Â
A grin had spread across the girlâs sulky features, which stirred new suspicion inside the man.Â
[â¨] â Use your eyes, girl. Itâs obvious that Iâve caught-- â The marksman trailed off with his remark as the hand that stole his coin reached inside her shirt and pulled out a...red ball?
His grip tensed on their arm as he observed the red ball that was bigger than the young oneâs palm. A Jolly Roger had been painted on itâs smooth, round surface--a Jolly Roger that he swore he glimpsed once or twice, but didnât really remember the name of the pirate crew that flew such an image.Â
The marksman couldnât dwell long on the thought of the Jolly Roger since the girl had yelled out another ridiculous phrase that still included the word âFlashyâ, and threw the red ball onto the ground. The thick white smoke that the red ball emitted shocked him and stung his eyes, but fortunately it didnât affect the grip that he had on her arm; which was a good thing, as she had tried to wrench free from him within the few seconds of distraction that the smoke produced.
He heard the girl choking and coughing from the remnants of smoke as it dispersed, and then he felt a pang of pity. Before he spoke to her, he rubbed the small droplets of water from his eyes with a sleeve once again.
[â¨] â Do you really need this coin so much, that you intend to make a fool out of yourself? âÂ
â Enough is enough, unless you manage to persuade me on giving you that coin--once you hand it back to me, that is--I might name you as its new owner. â Â
