the more I think about it, my delusional theory says part of the reason the Sparks GM was fired was because she also wanted to sign Pili. Now, Roberts is punishing Kate for no reason.

The fact that sparks fo kept kate over williams despite kate not getting minutes anymore makes me have more faith they will keep kate around next year and hopefully lynne will be gone and replaced with a coach that knows what they are doing

Yeah williams had a 2 year contract and she was guaranteed through this year (all contracts are after halfway in the season) so them cutting her says they don’t see a future with her and tbf she hasn’t been great. Akoa-Makani is a much better backup PG. sparks might also look to pick up a pg in the draft seeing as they’ll have 2 first round picks this year so no point keeping Williams. Kate has a contract through next year and they hopefully will get a better coach and GM (streets are saying Lyndsay Harding from the Lakers). Sparks only have 4 guaranteed contracts next year- Hamby, Atkins, wheeler and brink- so there are a lot of roster spots up for grabs and I’m confident kate knows exactly what she needs to do and will be working hard this offseason like she always does

I cannot wait for Roberts and her assistants to be fired. They really have Kate playing as a 4. She’s a wing and more of a 2/3. If Rae leaves in free agency, Kate would be the only true wing on that roster.
