Getting Lost Along The Way (Doctor and Aurora)

He grabbed onto her hand and nodded, “Ready as I ever will be,” He grinned down at her opening the door of the house. The eerie silence of the streets filled the air, nothing could be heard not even footsteps, animals or the wind for that matter.

"That’s odd." Aurora said as she stepped out onto the empty street with the him. “There should be people out on the streets by now.  The bombs stopped falling." She turned to the Doctor, having a concerned look upon her face.

Frowning deeply, his heard searched to the left and straight to the right, his eyes scanning the area in hope he might see something, a child perhaps running past. But nothing was there, no one was around even with the bombs no longer falling, people still remained in doors..if that is actually where they truly where. "C'mon.." The Doctor muttered as he began to walk towards the end of the lane back towards the area he had left the TARDIS.

The Doctor was busy working around the control base of the TARDIS, the energy was leaking from somewhere meaning that something was wrong, the TARDIS was slowly dying and it seemed like there was nothing left to do but try and provide whatever energy the Doctor had to the TARDIS before it died. He was so busy working away in the TARDIS he had noticed that he was no longer alone, that he was not the only one in the TARDIS. He had caught movement from the corner of his eye and stopped suddenly and looked at his new on board traveller. Staring at this in disbelief all he could say was, “What?!”

“The bombs have stopped and so has the alarm. So yes I think we should leave before we have some very angry people that we are in their house,” The Doctor laughed a little and then he began towards the door placing his hand out for her to take.

Aurora give one last glance at the back door, and then she followed him over to the doors. Taking hold of his hand. “Ready?” She asked him with a smile.

Rose looked hurt when he pushed her hand off his shoulder. Why was that good for? Wasn’t he happy to see her again? She couldn’t remember ever doing something to hurt him last time she saw him… Or had she?

“I’m not… I don’t understand…” She said looking at him feeling worried. He didn’t look like his usual self…There was something different but she couldn’t quit put her finger on it. “Did I do something wrong then…? Because I can’t remember what I did…” She said quitely while biting her lip nervously. “I’m sorry if I did.”

The Doctor hated himself for a second, watching the look upon her face, seeing there and then that his action of pushing her hand away did further deeper damage. He sighed looked down, keeping his own arms away from his body as he thought for a second, he felt himself calm down a little as the urge and tingle died down from being touched.

"I am sorry Rose.." He looked up to her, and he frowned, "I just..I can't be touched right now. I don't know why. I just can't."

He went from looking like he was in a bad mood to slightly over excited and manic in a split second. It kinda took Kate a little by surprise. She almost recoiled from out, a self defensive reflex that kicked in before she got a chance. Kate waited until he stopped talking before she attempted to answer anything, she stiffened a little when he put his hands on her shoulders, she looked up rolling her bright blue eyes.

“It was months ago…” she finally started answering his questions. “And it took out half the city, theres thousands homeless, it was on every news channel world wide how did you miss it?” She went to knock his hands from her shoulders. It was a fast but gentle move her thumbs hitting a pressure nerve on the inside of his elbows before she moved on with the conversation. Kate just didn’t like being touched. 

With a soft sigh she closed her eyes for a second, she was more frustrated with herself than anything else for not being able to solve this. “The power cuts started a week or so ago, little blocks here and there…but they were common you know, more common than usual. The power company and the city are blaming it on copper thieves. People are getting desperate with the whole economy crash thing and the price of copper is going up. Except I had a look at the police reports…don’t ask how thats not important…and the crime scene photos showed the cables weren’t stolen they were severed…and they kinda looked like they had been chewed on. So they’ve lied to us.” Well that was a long explanation. “Except…there’s nothing. I can’t find anything responsible. The scenes wiped clean. There’s nothing I can find. Doesn’t that strike you as odd? No evidence?”

The Doctor moved his hands from her shoulder, ignoring the act that she just inflicted on him to actually get to move them. He chose to ignore it, he was too busy thinking to himself. He then looked up to the sky, where had he been actually when all this was happening and why didn't he know about it. Well suppose he didn't need to come back to Earth after Rose.. And well he spent most of the time jumping between different universes. He rubbed the end of his chin as he pondered to himself, "I was years away I think.." The Doctor muttered to himself continuing to look to the skies.

He then looked back down to the female and he looked her up and down slowly, at her costume taking it in very slowly. "You go out like that often by the way? Superhero-isc I guess.." He looked away from her again and he looked up to the sky as if the answers lay in the stars, he ran his finger along the air as if he was pointing to the stars and he frowned deeply, "Although my theory, if it was them why would they do that?" He rubbed his head and shook it then. "Doubtful.. perhaps something else?" He continued to talk to himself and then look around the skies, jumping on the spot a little.

He then looked back to the costumed female as she spoke about being no evidence and he cocked his eyebrow, stopping for a second and considered it, "And what do you think is actually going on here?"

“A hospital?” Katherine says as the man finally stops for her. She reaches forward and grabs onto his arm so she can keep her balance. “Er—that’s probably not for the best. And by that, I mean, I don’t think my foot is that seriously injured… I just—” Not knowing how to explain herself without revealing too much, she decides to change the subject. Fast. “No, wait, just hold the phone a minute. Who are you exactly? First you appear out of nowhere, save my ass from being shot apart, and then start walking off with no intention of stopping. Explain this to me, because it’s just not clicking together in a way that makes sense.”

The Doctor frowned rolling his eyes a little and he stood staring at her, "All you humans, you are the same aren't you? All so bloody stubborn." The Doctor knelt down so that he could have a better look at her ankle. He took hold of her ankle pressing his fingers against the skin gently and he tilted his head, "Badly sprained I would say, not broken though thankfully for you," He looked up to her and he took out his sonic screwdriver and ran it along her ankle and he nodded, "Should dull the pain for a bit anyway." He stood back up and looked back to her, placing his hands back into his trench coat pocket. "Oh I am being rude, again.." He shrugged with a small smile playing on his lips, "Sorry I am the Doctor. And I tend to do that.. Save people I mean."

The Doctor laughed a little as he felt her embrace again and he wrapped his arms around her and give her a tight squeeze, “Safer in my TARDIS anyway than that thing around your wrist.”

Aurora pulled away from him, smiling up at him. “Yes, I quite agree.” She laughed, staring down at her silly device on her wrist. As they were talking, she could heard footsteps coming from outside. “It looks like the people who live here are coming back from their shelters.” She said, looking over at the back door. “I think it’s best that we leave.” She suggested.

Rose walked over and placed her hand on his cheek. She saw the deep sadness in his eyes. She’d seen this look a few times before. Madame de Pompadour, when he sent her to the parallel world before she came back herself. Those were the only two times she could recall anyway. When he asked her if she always loved him she nodded.

“Yes….” Rose replied then decided to clarify when she knew she loved him. “You know whrn I truly realized I loved you?” She whispered. “back on Satellite 5. When you sent me back in the TARDIS. When I came back and looked into the heart of the TARDIS. I couldn’t let you be alone. Not die on your own…I couldn’t give up. I couldn’t go back to my old life. I loved traveling with you and I can’t imagine myself being with anyone else.”

As soon as Rose finished her sentence, she sighed to herself, and pulled then Doctor into a soft kiss. Something she’d been wanting to do for the longest time.

The Doctor leaned into her hand when she placed it on his cheek and he looked into her eyes. A sad soft smile played on his lips as he listened too her, listened to how she feel in love him. He remember the day as if it were only yesterday the memory burning so bright in his mind, reminding him that this woman was the only woman he would ever need in his life. "I wanted you to stay with me forever.." The Doctor whispered still leaning into her hand.

He continued to smile to himself when she spoke about how she loved him, and how when she looked into the TARDIS she saw everything, how lonely the Doctor was. The lonely traveller, and how she stayed with him, blessing him with such a gift. He smiled at her as she spoke and smiled because of rhe memories that filled his head. Before he could respond however he felt her lips upon his. His eyes widened a little, but then he felt the softness of her kiss and he slowly closed his eyes and pressed his lips gently back against hers.

The Doctor stood rooted in a spot in the middle of London, he had stopped dead in his tracks as he was walking through the high street trying to get back to his TARDIS and to leave Earth after finishing off with yet another challenge and threat put on Earth. But he had to stop suddenly, as he walked he noticed that when people brushed up against him, nudged into him he suddenly felt a sensation run through his body, a pleasurable one. Having to stop dead not wanting to move, he felt fear run through his body at the same time. What was happening? As he continued to stand, rooted in fear and slight arousal he wrapped his arms around his body hoping it would stop people from bumping into him. However his own touch was sending a tingle through his body, his skin felt like it was on fire.

Rose had just been wandering trough the high street. It was her day off at work and she didn’t have anything to do because all of her friends were busy. She was just considering to go back home and maybe install herself in front of the tv with a movie when she spotted him, the Doctor in the middle of the high street wrapping his arms around himself. Her legs started to walk towards him immediaty as if he was a magnet. “Doctor!” She yelled, hoping to come above the noise of the people surrounding them. “You’re here! And you’re not even brining me a visit! I’m feeling a bit offended over here.” She admitted stopping right in front of him. “Hello…” She stopped talking as soon as she noticed the look on his face. “Are you alright?” Rose asked worried laying a hand on his shoulder.

The Doctor dare not move but continued to hold onto himself, closing his eyes tightly trying to make the sensation stop, trying to make the tingle that was running through his body end. He did not get feelings like this, he felt his blood racing the flow increasing and his hearts beating faster. He opened his eyes at the sound of something shouting his name, and he looked up. He frowned deeply, concern over flowing him, she can't touch him.. but he wanted her too. NO! Stop that.. he thought to himself and he looked away hoping Rose might walk on past him. But he stopped and he ignored her, the feeling getting so much for him, becoming more and more aroused by his own touch. When she placed her hand on his shoulder, he let out a groan and he grabbed her hand pushing it off him quickly, "Please don't.." He whispered.

The Cyber-Planner silently listened to the Doctor carry on as the space man had done for him, though he couldn’t help but give him a miffed look when spoken to in regards of his name. “No, I’m Mister Clever because I’m extremely clever, it has nothing to do with my place in the ranks. I am, however, their leader, thank you.” He paused, eyes wandering away from his enemy to other things surrounding them, then added, “Uniformity is key. With diversity comes conflict. Differing opinions create war, minorities become weaknesses. Call it delusional if you want to, but a better word for it is perfect.”

His eyes snapped back to the man upon hearing the change in his tone. So the Timelord finally figured it out, did he? Well, not fully, apparently. Not yet. “You are 903, I am 1253. You should be able to figure the difference.” He smirked, watching for the Doctor’s reaction, whatever it may be.

The Doctor rolled his eyes as Mister Clever spoke about how he got his name and he couldn't help but smirk a little, "Extremely clever? Will I might of agreed but I am in the room so I think I shall define what is considered genius and clever." The Doctor smirked slightly and he continued to listen about how uniformity was the key and he just couldn't even do anything but laugh, cyber technology was the same no matter what and he was honestly wasting his time. "It is a loosing battle with your cyber men, you only think one way because you are programmed too, to work like machines and not have a mind of your own. So to even consider to try and explain to you why this is sick, wrong! Is beyond useless."

The word perfect made him feel sick to his core, but he couldn't do anything now, this person in front of him was long gone. So wrapped up in the cyber way of thinking there was no going back for him, The Doctor knew it and so did Mister Clever. "1253 years old?" The Doctor frowned panic still taking him a little, his heart beats quickening and then he shook his head and muttered under his breath, "But no Time Lord.. I wouldn't ever.."

The Doctor watched her panic a little as she spoke about how she couldn’t be in space, “Well you are in space. I would say we are about twenty thousand miles away from Earth about now to be honest. Well maybe twenty one,” The Doctor looked at her as she spoke about New York being in danger and needing her help, “Well hold on a second. Firstly you appear on my ship, having no idea or anything clue on how you got on here even though we are years upon years away from Earth. And now you’re telling me to take you back to Earth?” The Doctor exclaimed.

Jack stared at the Doctor and shouted again that he was being rude, and that this new regeneration of his seemed to be nothing than rude lately. The Doctor turned to Jack and again pointed at him, “Quiet!” He then turned back to the young girl and he cocked his eyebrow, “Why would they need your help?”

“Look I’m sorry, I didn’t-” she took a moment to breathe and just held her head for a moment, “-I didn’t mean to end up on your ship.” She had to remember her manners here… Especially since she was thousands of miles away with two men in outer space. Cass had to go about this the right way. “But funny things have been happening on Earth, and they need me. I’m an Avenger; it’s kind of our thing to help Earth when funny things go wrong.”

Finally placing her little black mask into a pocket within her costume, she shrugged helplessly. “It’s funny things, Doctor-there’s been random bursts of power outages in little sections of New York. Like, I’d say it’s ‘cause of a storm or someone wanting to sell copper, but… I can’t really say I’d believe that.”

"An avenger?" The Doctor frowned looked over to Jack who shrugged in simple confusion as well. Never had in his years of travelling in and out of Earth had the Doctor heard or witnessed anything that was even mentioned an Avenger. But shrugging it to the side he sighed rubbing the end of his chin and he nodded. "Okay I will take you back. Well I have too, don't really have a choice." He walked over to the control base and began to push in button and pull on a lever here and there. "New York it is."

He watched from the corner of his eye as Jack stood near him itching probably to talk or say something, but the Doctor forbid him to talk out of terms sometimes fearing he would scare the girl off with his flirting or something. As he continued to push in some buttons he looked over to the girl, "Power cuts huh? When did these start to occur?"

Rose felt a small smile form on her lips as he whispered her name. Her heart skipped a beat just slightly. She never knew why, but she always loved it when he said her name. It was so soft, in a caring way. Just as the Doctor always was. Caring, loving, a strong man, a defender of the stars. She was defender of the Earth. He’d given her that title months ago. Rose nodded, remembering that first day they met. When he saved her from the living plastic. When she was trapped down in that cellar, surrounded and backed up against that wall. She’d had her eyes shut, ready for them to attack her. When she felt a comforting hand grab hers, and told her to run. Plus, not only did he save her life, but she saved his…Swinging on that chain knocking the Plastic into that goopy alien thing

Another warm smile grew on Rose’s face when he mentioned being on the spaceship with the Ood. That was a pretty scary trip. One of their scariest trips in Rose’s mind. She remembered kissing his helmet. Telling him to be safe, and that she’d be waiting for him to come back. Once she’d heard no response from him on the radio, Rose had gotten worried he’d never come back either.

“I was scared too. The Ood were going mad. I just wanted you to be there to help us, so instead I told them whatever I thought you’d do. Once we were on that escape pod….I just did whatever you would have done. You have no idea how relieved I was when I heard your voice. What happened down there anyway? What did you see? Down in that pit. You barely told me anything.”

Rose waited to tell him when she knew she loved him. There would be plenty of time for that.

The Doctor watched her carefully and he looked up slightly into the sky when she spoke about the Ood and down in the pits, and how she took control. The Doctor had never told her but he was so proud of her, so proud of his Rose Tyler being able to take command and lead those people to safety. Although they lost a few members of the ship of the way, they both tried their best, and Rose well she was the hero not him. "Down in the pit?" The Doctor repeated rubbing the back of his head as he thought about it and he still wasn't sure, was it the devil? Satan? The real deal? "I am really not sure. Evil." He knew that for sure, that whatever it was meant no good in the world and wanted to destroy everything it touched.

He looked to Rose again with a soft smile and he tilted his head a little, "You did so well, when we were on that ship. I was so proud of you. I thought I would never see you again, and what would happen? I promised your mum that I would always bring you back safe, and I thought I was going to fail. I had sentenced you to death, but you Rose, you took control. You saved the day." He grinned at her with a slight laugh and then looked back up to the skies, as if the ship was still in the them and he continued to smile to himself.

"Have you always loved me?" The Doctor asked still looking up to the sky and then he looked back to Rose, his eyes now filled with sadness and his smile wavering a little.

“…A police box? I’m afraid I haven’t. How did you bring a police box all the way here to Mystic Falls anyway?” She looked just as confused as he did now.

"Well actually it is quite the opposite," The Doctor looked around rubbing the end of his chin and then looked back to the female, "It actually brought me here, so your question should be how and why did my big blue police box bring me here."
