Croft chuckled as Aloys ears turned red and let her Climb in front of her, spying up to her a bit and smirking. She sees her disaperaring, then jumpd up herself and climbing the ladder.
How could she think that she didn’t mean it?
Well okay. She knew her for about 15 Minutes.
“oh… seemed like you didn’t know better…” she answered with a little laugh and looked at that wonderful face that was waiting on top of the hole.
“hm… some. Not quiet all. Most of them got hit from a rock on the back of theire head out of the Blue and were wondering why they were bleeding at the end…” she shrugged wth that one shoulder that wasn’t holding on the Bar, before climbing out.
“But that was when I was younger. After I got set ‘free’ as Nil was going to Prison, I started to see that there are thing more important then kicking rocks. Even if it’s really satisfying from time to time…”
She stand up and knocking dust and sand from her Clothes, stretching and going over to the fire to put her Coat back on, that was hiding her Colours at least a little bit.
“And what make you interrupt your way to…?” She asked, putting two Questions in one and looking at her with deer-brown eyes.
Aloy looked at the small fire, wondering how she had missed it coming down here. It was strange to be back in the world of the living. Where she could feel the grass at her ankles and the breeze of the breathing earth. So different than the artificial world that they left.
The red head watched Croft go to the firelight and grab her coats, stealing a moment to herself to watch her dress. Aloy was too clever to be caught, so she looked away before Croft knew she was watching. Still, a little red remained at her ears.
Aloy wished she had met Croft sooner, she realized. Maybe they could have been friends. Aloy always wondered what relationships could be if she stuck around, not already searching for the next machine to kill or errand to accomplish. Now that she had no obligation to kill Hades, she needed to find her purpose again. Making friends seemed so foreign.
"...I don't know what exactly I was looking for," Aloy said, a calm honesty about her. She didn't look at Croft when she said it, but instead looked toward the sky that was presented to both of them. Starlight sparkled down on them.
Why, of all people, did she think of Nil?
"I wish I could know what I wanted, like Nil did," she said honestly. She smiled a little, not too serious. Or at least trying to hide it.
"If life were as simple as killing bandits. Now that there are no more deranged machines, and Gaia is functioning---" the sentence caught in her throat, realizing she had said too much. She mentally kicked herself, knowing she had broken one of her own rules. Not to speak to other tribes about Gaia. It could break their religion, shatter their world. But them in the lonely or dangerous place that Aloy was.
"I may go back to Meridian. See how I can help there," she said, quickly changing the subject.
