Kristine Freya Nelson, Female, born in 1979 may 10, Montana She grew up in a norwegian-dutch family that migrated to US in 1960s, grew up trilingual , spoke english, norwegian and dutch. Her household was stritcly Lutheran and they went to church often. She has 2 sisters and 1 brother.
She left her home town Montana and relocated to NYC to start her game developing . She started to work in Valkyrie Interactive, her own studio, in the late 90s and created her first game Resident Evil with her team. Her christian background influenced her into putting lots of classical baroque and gothic designs in the landscape.
ᶠᵃᶜᵉ ᶜˡᵃⁱᵐ: ᵈᵒᵘᵗᶻᵉⁿ ᵏʳᵒᵉˢ ᴮᵒᵈʸ ᶜˡᵃⁱᵐ : ⁿᵒʳᵃᶠᵃʷⁿ ⱽᵒⁱᶜᵉ ᶜˡᵃⁱᵐ : ᴷʳⁱˢᵗⁱⁿᵉ ᶠʳᵒˢᵉᵗʰ
Fun fact; Kristine created Leon inspired by her boyfriend at that time (later husband) river phoenix (in this reality, he was born in 1977, met Kristine at college and they dated for about 5 years before getting married. He was not very famous and keeping a lowkey profile.)
In the early stages of developing Resident Evil, Kristine struggled to find the perfect look for the main male protagonist, Leon. One day, looking at her boyfriend, River Phoenix (born 1977), she realized he had the exact look she wanted. River, who preferred a quiet life over fame and met Kristine while they were in college, happily agreed to let her use his facial features, floppy blonde hair, and intense but gentle demeanor as the direct visual blueprint for Leon.
Despite their modest, lowkey lifestyle in Montana, Kristine’s parents owned a highly successful regional business and were secretly wealthy. Because they deeply believed in her talent, they provided her with a massive financial safety net. Upon her graduation, they gave her a substantial fund that completely covered the cost of renting a premium studio space in New York City, buying top of the line computers, and purchasing expensive console developer kits without any financial stress.
Kristine possessed an incredible knack for networking and a magnetic creative energy that naturally drew the right people to her. While in college and shortly after moving to NYC, she established deep connections with the most talented young programmers, 3D modelers, and sound designers of the era. She effortlessly built a tightknit dream team of individuals who perfectly understood her gothic, survival horror vision and possessed the exact technical skills to bring her complex ideas to life.
Instead of dealing with controlling corporate executives, Kristine signed a distribution deal with a major, incredibly accommodating gaming corporation. The executives deeply respected her genius and agreed to almost all of her creative choices. They gave her 100% creative control, handled all the physical manufacturing (printing the game CDs, box art, and manuals), and gave her the freedom to make the exact game she wanted without forcing any creative compromises or stressful deadlines.
Instead of a massive, bloated corporate studio, Kristine keeps her core creative team small, highly curated and loyal. She trusts them implicitly. Together in their NYC studio, huddled around glowing CRT monitors and desks covered in concept sketches, they conceptualized the iconic Resident Evil storyline. Kristine personally spearheaded the character design, infusing the protagonists with deep personality traits, and she and her team meticulously mapped out the entire survival horror lore together.
After years of tireless, passionate development, Valkyrie Interactive releases Resident Evil in mid 2005. Because she had total creative freedom from her publisher, the game launches as a flawless, uncompromising vision of gothic survival horror. It instantly becomes a global phenomenon, praised for its cinematic storytelling, deep atmosphere, and unforgettable characters, cementing Kristine as one of the most influential game directors of the 2000s.
1998 – 2013 : Valkyrie Int. releases a flawless run of gritty, mature, grounded Resident Evil mainline and lore games, ending the initial run in 2013.
2014 – 2019 (6 year Break): Valkyrie Int goes completely dark. Kristine and her team take a well deserved break, enjoy their families (Kristine and River living their best life), and wait for gaming technology to take a massive leap forward.
2019 (grand return): Valkyrie int. launches the modern Remake era, utilizing incredible modern graphics engines, but keeping the soul of their original vision.
Unlike the real world, where characters get completely new voice actors and face models every few years, in this realit, face models and voice actors stay exactly the same. As technology upgrades in 2019, the original actors return to do full body mocap and voice work. Seeing the exact same characters fans loved in the 2000s, but rendered in photorealistic, modern graphics, completely blows the gaming community's mind.
While the faces stay the same, the gameplay is completely modernized for the 2020s. The controls are fluid and the level design is seamless, but the game strictly retains Kristine's signature pacing: hyperrealistic combat, extreme tension, permanent and gruesome boss damage, zero anime stunts, and a deeply tragic, mature horror atmosphere.
The Office: Located in a gorgeous, high-ceilinged brick loft in Soho, NYC. It has giant windows, plush velvet couches, and a massive kitchen.
Kristine runs a very family friendly, relaxed studio. Because her parents funded it and her publisher is chill, there is zero toxic crunch culture. Employees can bring their pets to work, there’s a designated gaming lounge with a PS2 and GameCube setup, and River is constantly stopping by. The team loves him, he regularly rolls up with boxes of local NYC pastries, helps decorate the office for Halloween, and hangs out on the couches brainstorming lore with the writers.
My resi DR lore adjustments
- my drself replaces billy coen to partner up with Rebecca in the ecliptic express.
- in re2, Claire and Leon never get separated and they rescue Sherry together. They only get separated when Claire went to the orphanage and Leon to NEST.
- re3 remake is longer and features more chapters from the original.
- LUIS SURVIVES!!!... He also deserved much better. He can literally work with Rebecca ...
- Jill and Claire DESERVE more... So; Jill gets added to re7-8 alongside Chris. Also to Not a Hero DLC.
And Claire gets added to Re6-9
- Ada dies on screen right after Re6.
- Piers survives. His death was so unnecessary 😭
- mia dies alongside with Ethan.
- I'll adopt and fix Eveline she deserved so much better poor baby 💔 she'll use suppressants and turn into a normal human by the time.
- Re9 features my drself and Claire...

This dr-self / OC was fully created by me in a span of months. she is slow baked, from west virginia and little known about her past. this is also shortly her lore. Deeply inspired from the industrial wasteland i grew up in, random fires, mountainous hazard zones, abandoned sites, various phobias, and overall poverty "aesthetic", distilled from my REAL life. Resi universe pretty much excludes misogyny and racism, with a fictional U.S. president and a bioterror focused political climate. (Normally I wouldn't create an American drself (no offense, just not my style) but that's what resi is ALL about.) anyways lets dive in.
Things that remind me of her;
— night shift convenience stores, shady allies, red - blue led banners, neat whiskey with spiky ice, burberry her, sumerian black magic, corny country music, haunted lakeside villas, missing girl, plum noir, sky ferreira, rifle on the wall, handmade rugs, face full of scratches, daddy's doe, celtic lullabies, the other woman, anomaly games, cheap blue eyeshadow, brown herd, embriodered boots, burning motorcycle, old grey sedan, kitsch fridge magnets, dimly lit smoke, ripped leather, bug infested wood, muddy walls, tattooed grannies.
Jean Rutherford
was born in april, 1977. She is from WV, working as Bravo Team member / rear security. She grew up as a normal child, but her passion brought her to Raccoon to solve the mysterious mūrders happening in the Arklay perimeter. Raccoon Police Department held its annual tactical invitational. Jean, then a standout student in a local police prep program, was invited to participate in a hand to hand combat exhibition. Being physically small and fast gave her an advantage at close quarters combat. After being enrolled, during her first mission, she got infected with the T virus in the Arklay facility. Luckily, she turned out to be a symbiote. She gained regeneration and enhanced agility as a result, but never officially got medical attention or documentation, essentially hiding her situation to avoid complications. She later stayed in Jill’s apartment with her since they both were suspended by police chief Irons and were under surveillance.
Jean wanted to keep being a normal girl after everything that happened to her and her deceased teammates, but it was near impossible. She had a single nightmare that kept repeating itself every few nights, and life felt dullest ever. However she religiously kept writing in her diary, worn leather cover once was gifted by her father. Her tanned arms full of scars now, she felt something in her metamorphosing, fear of losing her humanity kept her sane. At least she was not getting necrosis, right? Following the Raccoon City trial, the U.S. Government sought to contain anyone with first hand knowledge of the T-Virus. Rather than letting her disappear or become a mercenary, where her skills could be sold to the highest bidder, the government offered Rutherford a deal similar to that of Sherry Birkin later, to protect herself and ensure the survival of her colleagues, she agreed to join a specialized division under STRATCOM. Her role focuses on tactical recovery and the neutralization of bio organic weapons in urban environments.
Her loyal partner says her eyes get hollower each day, as her memories of the night slip away by the time. each dose of suppressant makes her more callous. Conclusion: Partnership recommended for high risk viral containment missions. Monitoring advised due to unexplained physiological anomalies in agent Lynx-1. Clearance Level: Restricted.
