Hello! Welcome my TADC blog!

I should've created one a long time ago, but better late than never, am I right lol

Anyways! This will be my TADC-centered blog, so that my main blog is no longer cluttered by so many TADC stuff, and people will no longer get confused.

But aside from AUs, this is also where I will start dumping TADC discussions and of course, can't forget: Showtime (Caine x Pomni)! Some ships might appear, but not as frequent as Showtime.

please tell me zooble in your rewrite will be able to be more then just abstradegy. im pretty sure most of what zooble does could be removed and it wouldnt change anything ACCEPT when it involves gangle. i love gangle and i loved her getting her own episode but it felt like zooble was only there FOR gangle. i shipped abstradegy in the pilot days but as time went on it felt like they only existed to fill that quota (like the end credits scene was cute but at the same time it was all they were good for in the end)

zooble was such an interesting idea to begin with and the most they got to themself was the therapy scene which most ppl only cared about for the caine glitch thing) like they mellowed out pomni, so make zooble more mad! less annoyed. "i shouldnt have antagonised him so much" we saw barely any! (we also saw barely any merch) i know theyre a sidecharacter but they felt severely underused

Zooble will indeed, be more than just a part of Abstragedy. But I'm not going to lie, Gangle will be a major player to Zooble's change, just done a bit differently.

In the original show, Zooble is a lot more... open? A bit of a rude character who has a potty mouth, and flips off everyone.

Rewrite Zooble is still a bit of like that, but they lose their confidence and act more like someone who goes along with what shit is happening-- but just wants things to be done with, so they can have a moment of peace to themselves soon.

They treat adventures like a 9-5 shift, where they have to put up with a passive-aggressive but strong front in order to serve customers, and barely contain the frustration of their life.

The point of the rewrite is to give everyone a character arc that coincides and wraps up with the finale, and Zooble's character arc is one of indifference, and the feeling of suffocating in silence.

Suffocating in what, exactly? Many factors, really. Image, body dysmorphia, mental fortitude, so on and so forth. Zooble may present themself as someone wholly indifferent to the circumstances of the circus, but deep down; the circus is making them feel suffocated again and it results in their grumpy, apathetic nature.

In short, a self-destructive cycle that they will eventually break.

It's a little bit hard to describe in text, without thinking "that's just like in the show!!" Which is... kind of the point, because I'm not trying to rewrite EVERYTHING. I'm just taking the good parts, take out the bad ones that won't really contribute to the final core message of the rewrite, and building up on that.

But I'm also adding some other stuff in order to make Zooble a little more fleshed out outside of Gangle, and their progression of opening up about their true feelings feel a little bit more natural-- instead of having Zooble do a lot of the leg work in the Abstragedy pairing.

This is also why I often lump Zooble, Ragatha and Gangle together when talking about the rewrite, not because I ship the three-- but because all three are actually the anti-thesis to Jax's core beliefs, and actively dismantle her toxic worldview, as well as being changed to be a little less lenient towards forgiving the ones who contributed to the Circus' toxic environment.

Which, happens to include everyone, whether they knew it or not! So yeah, there's going to be some level of tension within the group of humans that will come to play at a later "episode". wink wink nudge nudge

Not really. As long as you acknowledge and not condone what they did/continue to do, you're not obligated to stop enjoying the fan content. This is still a media you hold dear to you after all, and you should treasure it for what it is, while simultaneously calling out the bad of the canon.

It's just as important to recognize the impact of the work, as it is to be aware of what flaws it carries because of the original author's outlook/behavior. And then, you must work to dismantle that, and let people recognize the harm behind the production.

You also need to take into consideration intent, as a way to understand where the author is coming from, but not excusing their actions; as their actions, whether intentional or unintentional, still brought harm in some shape or form.

However, if the person advocates for something deliberately harmful, then it'd be best to just avoid the person and their works entirely.

What happen to your pc?? Is it broken?

It's having an SSD problem where the PC won't start, and it's stuck in a never-ending loop of booting up> loading> black screening > low res boot up > Blue screen "PC didn't start correctly" because it failed to boot up

My bro thinks it might be a sata cable of the SSD problem rather than the SSD itself (since the SSD has already been previously reformatted and kind of worked fine), which he's already trying to see rn

Brainstorming about Ragatha's characterization for the rewrite a little bit, I think it would be interesting if her mother is not only abusive, but also incredibly strict.

Like, telling her how a woman should act, should talk, should carry herself when she makes her presence known to a room, how she should dress, what she should like as a girl.

That a woman must never lose her composure, simply because it's unladylike to raise your voice. There was even a time when she had to balance books on top of her head, so that she'd become well-behaved and her back would straighten, because it's the "female posture".

She's not allowed to be a person nor entirely independent, because the person that she is is a threat to the standards her mother upholds her whole family in (demure, pristine, and tidy), and she is quite literally, a doll to be dressed up and presented to others for her mother. And if she doesn't meet all of those standards, she'll be reduced to rags (disowned).

And to adulthood, Ragatha carried a lot of those traits over. She still fawns, but she's not allowing it to be shown, because she has to maintain composure.

She treats others with kindness because she doesn't want other people to feel the way she did. But it's obvious that it's chipping away at her sanity because it's added on top of her having to deal with what she does in the circus.

Until... Pomni.

Something I wanna do for the rewrite, is that once Caine has started on his journey of redemption, he's going to say that he's failed people.

He recalls all the names of the abstracted people from Scratch, to even Jax. Because in the rewrite, I see Caine as a representative of the people who are high up in the social ladder, perpetuating it's harmful system because of how out of touch he was.

He's relearning a lot of stuff again, including being grounded for once, and recognizing that he allowed for such a toxic environment to fester, that it ultimately caused the digital lives of many when he could've been improving them from the start.

But there is nuance to the situation, with the fact that Caine has been faced with a tremendous amount of pressure, with as little guidance as possible--while also dealing with a self-worth issue; which lead to the way to how things shaped up the circus. Showing that the reality of the situation isn't so black and white, and it's not just entirely the fault of one party.

But, all of them could change that now. That it's never too late to try. And if only Jax could see it in herself too...

I like pomni and I wish she had more relevance. Cause it feels like you could replace her with literally any other character and barely anything would change. Also for a “main character” she sure doesn’t have any development or screen time.

She deserves better.

I like her as well. She's my second fav at this point, Jax has been demoted to fourth place. And I do think that Goose really did have a wasted opportunity when it comes to Pomni's characterization, and I'm glad that she recognizes that too.

And this is why in my rewrite, Pomni's the one to dismantle the circus, literally and figuratively. This instantly gives her something that makes her stand out amongst the rest.

What she does in the finale can be done by Gangle, Zooble and Ragatha, and it'd be the best way to round out everyone's character arcs without making it feel ooc, whilst also utilizing every single cast in the ensemble.

Yesterday happen something that it really gets on my nerves, I was watching an video about the Looney Tunes Laff Riot an scraped version of The Looney Toon Show where instead of an sitcom the plot was more like the classic old Looney Tunes cartoons with Bugs still living in the hole in the forest. The caption under the video say that Bugs is an funny bunny and when I look at the comments everything was about the ship between Pomni and Jax instead of the pilot and that get on my nerves.

It happen other times as well but I'm just saying the story that annoying me the most it might sound like something stupid to be irritated and mad about and it true, but it's really annoying when you try to see an conversation about something you enjoy and is ended up to be something completely different that is not even about the same show.

To be completely honest, I kind of felt this way when the "I Saw The TV Glow" tag was flooded with Jax symbolism instead of Owen discovering that part of herself when she peeks in. Like, there's more Jax fanart I saw than there is Owen/Isabel fanart, and that lowkey pisses me off because this is the ISTTVG tag I'm currently checking out, not the TADC tag.

But it was not nearly as annoying, because I know where people where coming with; and comparing medias that have a similar premise are good! I do it a bit with God of War: Ragnarok, and like I mentioned above, I Saw The TV Glow.

However, when talking in this context that the mere mention of "Funny bunny" immediately causes people to associate the term to something COMPLETELY unrelated, that's quite the line these fanbase has crossed, and YOU SHOULD NOT FUCKING DO THAT.

FUCKING STOP THAT. RIGHT FUCKING NOW. NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOUR SHIP. JESUS CHRIST.

I don't see why you should be thanking me, tbh. What I'm doing is just basic fandom etiquette. Gooseworx has confirmed Jax uses she/her and he/him, so I start using it as well because that's what's stated, and I was waiting for a go signal to use "she/her".

It's not like this is "crucial major information that shouldn't be wrong/should be done better because the writing needs it!!!" we're just talking... pronouns of a character? Which is subject to creator's standards? And last I checked, people can have multiple pronouns regardless of gender, fictional or non-fiction.

Again, why this is supposed to be a big deal will never make sense to me. We got a confirmation, therefore people should stop making a big deal out of it. There are bigger things we need to spend our focus on as fans.

Just pointing out my two cents here, if you're forcing people to say "Jax explicitly uses "she/her" just because she's transfem, even though Goose said that Jax can use she/her and he/him either way, you're not as progressive as you look.

Because I thought we were already past the "pronouns = gender of the individual"? Why are we forcing the closeted transfem into exclusively "she/her", when it can be either way-- just because she's transfem?

This is one of the things that bothers me about the trans Jax discourse. I'm an afab non-binary who likes to use "she/they", despite not being feminine presenting at all, nor do I want to be associated with feminine stuff. I just like the pronouns a lot more, and that's my preference. So why shouldn't it apply to what Goose says about Lee/Jax using "She/he" simultaneously?

Will you keep the internet connection point from ep 9 in your rewrite?

Although the visuals leading to it are beautiful, storytelling wise its a mess imo. It takes away the isolation of the setting, the socmed montage doesn't feels like a satisfying closure for the circus humans, and its a cheap cop out for a Caine redemption arc. It also adds a bunch of questions like how does a 90's computer connect to a modern wifi and why did Caine never found it before?

Nope. While the concept emanates a hopeful vibe--and trust me, I know what the socmed powerpoint represents, as it allows the circus members to peer into a version of themselves that have become better people-- I think that it is just... not really good. Nor do I think that my rewrite fits the premise it's trying to tell.

The socmed powerpoint actively clashes with the fact that they are digital copies, and the theme of the show, "finding meaning in a stagnant life", because a stagnant life does not allow you to change into a better person. You are quite literally stuck as the way you are, till the ends of time-- and the socmed presentation is like dangling a carrot on a stick in front of a starving person.

I think that the circus cast should be able to stand on their own, because they are technically different from their counterparts at this point.

Their paths have diverged a long time ago, so now, the cast members should be able to live without the reassurance of whatever their real selves are doing out there.

We ARE following the cast that's inside the circus, after all. We have no attachment to the irl humans, because they're not the ones we've accompanied in this journey.

We can use their backstories to add spice to their characterization, but it is ultimately what the characters do during the present runtime of the show that's what truly matters in the narrative. How their choices shape the world around them, and affect the people around them.

I think God of War really fits the bill when it comes to this premise, where Urdr says:

"You are the sum of your choices, and nothing more."

Plus, I don't think seeing how much your real self thrives while you're stuck in a stagnant overstimulating hell is enough reassurance to last a lifetime in this place. That's like, seeing a family member be successful at life while you're in debt, stuck in a rundown apartment, unable to pay rent, groceries, electricity and etc.

In fact, I lowkey think it should be the other way around: The digital circus cast becomes the better version of themselves, and then when the irl selves are shown at the end, it gives the audience a chance to hope that "wow, these people REALLY have the potential to change, I hope they see it eventually", because the circus cast members have shown us a potential better future for these people.

Similar to I Saw The TV Glow's "will they, won't they" premise.

I don't know if you saw Goose's asks but when I opened to check on them. I was greeted to this-

Asker- Is there anything you would want to change from the digital circus (even if it something little) if you have to do it all over again?

Goose- I'd want to probably explore Pomni's angry side a bit more. She was originally going to be a much angrier character, but after casting Lizzie, she was so nice and sweet that it was toned down a bit, but I kind of regret that. Some of Pomni's anger issues made it through to the final thing, but I wish I made it more of a key part of her.

And remind me how you described "Rewrite Pomni".

I have no doubt that Lizzie could play an angry Pomni, tbh. She does a great job at it on episode 8; but I agree with Goose-- this should have been a key part of Pomni's character, and should've been explored a lot more
