Im tired of not speaking my truth to stay uncouth. We simply must torture The Character in perverse and cruel ways for my enjoyment and pleasure. Guards begin
it feels sad to see the game i loved for almost ten years have its story cut off so suddenly, but part of me feels relieved at the thought of these characters ive followed for so long finally getting some peace in a way, if theres never going to be anything bigger and badder on the horizon
its still very sad. destiny and its wonderful writing has revived my love for stories again and again, and im glad all of it was able to be archived to go back through
What kind of like to kudo rating on AO3 should I consider a success? I posted my first fic back in ages, but it got about 40 hits and 6 kudos, I don't knkw how to feel about that ratio. Is it worth continuing if I want it to be seen?
if you wrote it, it’s already considered a success. please don’t let strangers’ approvals be the thing that determines your works’ worth and values, and whether or not they are “successful enough”.
sure, kudos and comments are great and deeply appreciated, but they aren’t the reason why I write. like, the thing about fanfics is that it’s a hobby and something you do for fun. and the thing about hobbies and something you do for fun is that you do it for yourself and your own enjoyment. you don’t do it for strangers or their approval.
since you asked me, I can only speak for myself — I write for me. not for anybody else. not for strangers on the internet. me. because this is my hobby and also my passion, my source of comfort and a form of self-care. so if I wrote it, it’s a success and I am proud of myself for it. you should be proud of yourself too.
james baldwin was so right when he said “the children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality.”
girl who sat next to me at the coffee shop had that Tortured By Computer Work look in her eye so i turned to her and was like Are u doing research? and it turns out she (white) just started working as an indigenous liaison for an ecological wellness surveying company (hired bc she worked with the local nation for a year) so i was like OMG can i share resources with you. and whipped out my 1 million notes and academic papers on ethical Indigenous-settler relations/research and Indigenous perspectives on ecological restoration. she was like omg are u sure this is basically a whole course for free and i wanted to tear my shirt off liek YES!!!! I WANT TO PROMOTE LOW BARRIER EDUCATION TO ADVANCE DECOLONIZATION AND RECONCILIATION!!!!!!!!!!! STEP IN2 MY GOOGLE DOC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
here's a googoodrive folder containing learnings on Experiential Learning in Ecological Restoration annnddd Research Practice in Indigenous Contexts. each course folder contains a "![Course number] Notes" document as well as PDFs of all the text-based readings that the notes draw from :-)
i plan 2 make accessible the learnings from my other classes too but i think ill only have time to do all that anonymizing & reformatting once i graduate in a few months lol
