Wednesday Well

My grandfather used to say we needed Wednesday to help us remember our well. "It's the day," he would say, "when we take stock of where we've been and where we need to go."

He said that Monday and Tuesday were days that people were a little too busy to see the rest of the world. "Too much happening." 

Thursday was the day when most everything actually took place because people calmed down enough to appreciate and breathe. Friday was, according to him, the best day to do some fishing, unless a guy could do it any, or every, other day.

What about Saturday and Sunday? They were days, just like any other. You see, my grandpa walked his walk and talked his talk like none other. He was a firefighter and a gunsmith. He was an adventurer, historian, author and pioneer. He didn't have time to sit around and didn't make time to be lazy. He was always doing something and that something was usually of importance.
