Sorry if sometimes we might take time to respond. We have AuADHD and struggle to make good responses or understand some things, but we don't have bad intentions and we avoid sounding rude.

You can also vent/rant here if you're not nonhuman, too! We might just take more time to respond to those asks.

I wish there didn’t have to be so much discourse and fighting and hate within our community. Why can’t we just love each other? We’re hated quite severely by non alterhumans, why must we spread that same energy among ourselves? Whoever is reading this I love you. Let’s spread more love.

This, literally this. I don't understand why we should hate or excluding ourselves. We're all nonhuman at the end of the day. We are all branches in the same tree.

the amount of us who get sexualized by our fandoms…Alastor is ACE. Hawks is MASKING AND NEVER ONCE ACTUALLY FLIRTS WITH ANYONE. Aizawa is MARRIED (not technically canon but whatever.) Hanako died at THIRTEEN and HAS SA TRAUMA (not technically canon either I don’t think? Heavily implied and in our canon it is).

And there are more instances of this with those not in our system. One that we hate is Eri, Aizawa’s adopted daughter (not technically canon) being SHIPPED with the only other little kid in the show. He’s TEN. She’s like SIX. AND THEY CANONICALLY GET ADOPTED AS SIBLINGS.

Just. Why.

I understand how it feels when people headcanons weird things about your kins and the headcanon gets really popular among the fandom. It sucks, really.

And being canon divergent can also have their flaws, like how you perceive it when the fandom does something that doesn't align in your canon, for example.

I hate being aware that I'm human. like I want to refer to mysf as more fox and my limbs as paws and stuff like that. but I'm too aware. I hate it so much I want to be more fox but I don't know how. like how do I make me view myself as a fox and not a human. I don't want to be human.

Oh, I'm so sorry u going throught that...It seems like you're in a deep species dysphoria, and that must hurt a lot.

Have you tried small habits that help you feel more connected to your fox self? Things like, resting in a fox-like way, copying postures or movements, finding a den-like space, or using a name that feels more like you. You could also journal what makes you feel more connected to your theriotype and build little habits around that.

Remember, you are loved, safe, and valid!

Going through a really tough bout of depression for the past few weeks and I feel so far away from my Theriotypes. I miss the wild, I miss nature and my real self.

That's so sad to hear... :( Depression is horrible, I'm so sorry you're going throught that.

From what I can know with ur message, I can guess that you cannot go outside right now (depression makes one really tired, I understand how that feels). But if you cannot go out, maybe try reconnecting from the inside?

Why don't you start with searching on YouTube different calming nature videos? The ones that make you feel connected with your theriotype. I have a few if they help! (You can search ur own since these are examples):

With feeling more connection with your theriotypes, maybe you can imagine yourself as your theriotype while these videos play in the background. Just close your eyes, focus, and let your mind do the rest. Maybe this might not work the first time you do it but I definitely think they might be good steps to feel more connected with your theriotypes <3

If you ever feel like you have enough energy, try going to a small walk outside. Don't exhaust yourself, just a walk around nature. And remember to eat and drink water! Your mental and physical health matters a lot!

Hey! I’m new to the alterhuman community. Although I’ve had this connection to a being and been alterhuman for many years, I only just awakened a few weeks ago. I am fictionkin. I am also worried because my kintype isn’t one of the trending kintypes from the popular sources (not saying these types are invalid! It makes sense as these source media are everywhere that there are more kintypes of them! Everyone is valid and loved!), but instead a I’m very horrible, very evil man.

This has worried me, and kept me from entering fictionkin/alterhuman spaces because I know how fandom treated me when I simply said he was my favorite character before I knew the depth of our bond. I worry that, because my kintype is so horrific in source, I should just keep it to myself and not offend others in the community, but it hurts me to think I have to bury this inside forever.

Is the community here on tumblr a safe space for people like me? After stalking it for a while I think I’ll be okay here, but I wanted to ask someone who has been a part of it longer then me.

Hey there,

First, don't worry about your source or kin. Being a fictionkin is unvoluntary and you cannot control who you are (this is, in most cases, if we don't count fictionlink/otherlink in this scenario). And you don't need to "fit in" in this community.

The alterhuman community won't judge you from who you are (If some random does, they're an asshole then). I've seen fictionkins of characters with problematic sources like TCOOAL, Changed or even YBC. And I don't really know your source or who you identify as, but I don't think people should attack you for something you cannot control. Please, don't worry about it, I can tell you that fictionkins with problematic sources are not uncommon in the community.

In cases about communities...No idea, but I have searched some communities on Tumblr that might accept those!

Fictionkin (Creatures, beings, etc.) -> (you have to send a request to join). It's the most popular rn.

Alterhuman sillies -> They are anti-fakeclaiming, anti-harassment and welcome all kinds of sources, so I'll say that it's also safe.

My fictionkin dysphoria has been hitting hard recently for 3 of my most prominent kins (Uzi, Cyn, and Angel Dust) and I don't know what to do about it!

I don't have much gear for any of them and I can't participate in a lot of things they do due to...reasons (I can't build railguns or eat planets and I DON'T want to do a lot of things Angel does)

I just don't know what to do! I'm not really expecting any advice, but if you wanna give some go ahead. I'm just really upset about not being me :(

1. Sounds like a stupid question, but have you tried DIY? You can try making objects from your media? I found something that might help you! -> DIY Uzi's railgun (part 1 + free template) and here is part two of the vid. Don't worry it's just cardboard, nobody is going to shoot you with a lasergun /j /silly .

2. Try making spotify playlists! Listening to the music you relate with your kins might help you feel euphoric !!

3. Moodboards! Use Pinterest images and make collages and moodboards!! Anything with ur kins' aesthetic? Straight to the moodboard >:D

4. Kandi bracelets? Like bracelets with the color palette of your kins, or their names! And you can use them to track shifting !!!

5. Pinterest boards!! It's like moodboards but just putting the images in a board instead of downloading them and putting them in a collage.

Uhhh no more ideas, but hope this helps you. Remember that you're loved and valid !!! <3

I'm not kidding. My dysphoria gets so bad I cry myself to sleep because of it and my phantom shifts get genuinely painful, but while these things seem simple it does really help me. I never really found too much advice especially since I don't have a lot of access to cosplay materials and not all of my family is supportive

Omggg I’ve been questioning off and on if I’m an eevee cladokin or just Cladohearted for ages! I know I’m eeveekin, I have no doubts about that. Sometimes I feel like the other eeveelutions, but that feeling fades and shifts around which is weird. At the moment I’m questioning if I’m at least a sylveon, but I’m worried that feeling will fade too, even though it’s come and gone for a while now, for ALL the eeveelutions. I’m wondering if maybe my kintype is more like Vee from the manga or something, idk.

Imo that remembers me of fictionflickers/fictionflicks. It's like losing connection and eventually have it back, like a "flicker". You should definitely research that!!

And yeah, you can also relate to other versions too! I'm canon divergent of one of my kins and I usually look like a mixed source from two different versions if that makes sense.

hi same rhythm heaven kin from last rh related post. never play rhythm heaven on an emulator doesnt matter which one it is NEVER play it. if miss reeds (I) cant handle the random drops of fps during the rhythm games and the bluetooth earbuds delay from the device to the buds then YOU are (probably) going to ragequit maybe 2 remixes in because of the overwhelming oks and try agains (and also probably forgetting the inputs by the time you get to the remix) (<- also im talking specifically about rhythm heaven fever which is the. Easiest one to emulate probably. rhythm skill issue for me i guess 💔)

i love therianthropy, but this community is so exhausting. theres little to no individuality. its always stars and swirls, crop tops, dyed hair, same sound effects, same editing style, same audios, same mask style, etc. i understand trends, and i have nothing against the ppl themselves using these aesthetics, its just really discouraging because of how "engrained" it is to the community. i want to see more unique therians. i wanna see different styles, different presentations. i feel so disconnected from the community because i dont fit into the box of "cottagecore folkcore soft music soft aesthetic bug loving naturecore therian", and thats all i ever see getting attention on social media. example: i love opal so much, but so many people just straight up copy her and get just as much attention. when you think of famous therians, they all have a TON in common, and thats not great imo. however i will say over here on tumblr and even on instagram theres much more individuality, which is great and i hope to see more!!

Ohhh...I'm honestly much on the alterhuman side of Tiktok or Instagram but that must be so frustating. Idk much about those things but I never saw people like this (like, copy+pasting as you say. I usually see a lot of unique ppl on Tumblr). I think this app is the only one where I say freely I'm an alterhuman, as other platforms usually harass people non-stop.

I've seen goth therians, cottagecore therians, scene therians, and more! And oh yeah, I def know Opal (she appeared in my FYP everywhere in 2024, when alterhumanity suddenly became viral on Tiktok), she's really amazing! But I can admit, most therian creators are just copies of her.

But, if I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't care how other people dress or how comfortable they are in their aesthetics. After all, if it makes you happy, then go for it. But I gotta admit there are therians on Tiktok that only copy her instead of being themselves, but Tiktok is just...You know. People usually lack originality there, u shouldn't be surprised.

Imo, Tumblr is the best platform to see therians. There are a lot of unique alterhumans that expresses themselves better! The community in this platform is wayyy better and safer than in any other platform

Ouch, understand this before we found out we were a German Shepherd therian.

Well, for me, I started by just looking at images and videos of the animal. I would feel an intense connection with the animal always. Then, I would imagine myself thinking I was that animal in different scenarios in my head and I would always do small steps like these.

But the true question is: Do you feel happy with thinking of being a cat? Does it feel like it belongs to you? Does it make feel like you're being yourself, and does this identity make you feel happy with yourself?

You can try doing small steps like I said before, but the key questions are these.

Just wanted to say something.

Yes, I do care.

I'm here to listen to people's problems because I truly care and I want to make people feel seen and validated here. And I mean it. I'm not here just to say something and then go away. I want to let people be in a safe space and not feel excluded in it. And I CARE when I see someone struggling, because I don't like seeing them this way, and I want to help anyone to recover.

When I say I'm proud of you, I mean it.
