Another upload from Trichromatix!

We now have somewhat of an upload schedule! Cheers all round! For now we should be releasing videos on the 1st and 15th of every month, which is every 2 weeks-ish. Obviously, we're still working our socks off outside of this channel, so it's still likely to clash and delay on a couple of occasions, but we will try our best!

A big thank you, once again, to Dragora and Twilishark for starring in this video alongside us. We'll see you again on the 15th! Next month's schedule and planning will be up on Patreon shortly, as well as an opportunity to vote for our next CMV.

WHY I PLAY: A series of short docs about Cosplay

There is art in the act playing dress up.

I’ve talked about this before but not in real length, my friend, trichro, is creating a documentary about cosplay by a cosplayer. However, as you can imagine, she is in need of funding. 

She has 19days left to reach her £1,000 goal but, at this time, as only reaached £170. I ask you to please donate and/or share this so that she can get more sponsers.

Please please please donate! If you’re a cosplayer out there of any skill level that has ever struggled with the way that people have reacted to your hobby, these videos are meant for you. The £1000 we need does not just stop at the Why I Play film, but goes on to explore all the different realms of cosplay, both as a descriptive of the hobby and an exploration of some of the social and cultural problems that have been imposed on the cosplay community. 

We don’t just want your help, but we want to hear from you! Get in touch, share your ideas, donate! Join the team and give us a chance to make something wonderful for you all.

Over the past few months you’ve no doubt heard me mention offhandedly on this tumblr already that i’ve been working on a documentary for Cosplay over the past few months, well now it’s finally happening. 

On the 16th of December we’re starting filming for this 20 minute piece, and we really need your help to cover some of the costs! 

I want to be able to show cosplay in a different light to how it has been approached in other short films and documentary. There’s an element of art about the hobby that I feel no one else has been able to catch. Instead of making the film entirely about some of the basics and debate over “What is Cosplay” and “Why do people do such a childish thing” I would rather that these be subtle messages that are perhaps answered for themselves within the first few minutes, leaving the rest of the film to cover some of the rest of the themes and issues whilst keeping a fun atmosphere.

THE CMV CHALLENGE!!

Hello everyone! Whilst i’m finishing off the end of my University term before the big summer break we thought we’d do something we’ve been considering for a while and making a Challenge of our own! We’re looking forward to seeing and hearing about all of your videos if you get involved so don’t be shy!  If you’d like us and others to see just put CMV Challenge in your title and we’ll drop by!

THE CHALLENGE

a CMV where you must use 6 different kinds of shot set up

a CMV using 3 different locations (1 internal, 2 external)

a CMV where there is no dialogue/lyrics (this includes from your characters)

A CMV that uses at least 4 people (or characters) in their cast

a CMV that is focussing on a single prop

a CMV that thinks about colour or uses colour to symbolise something

a CMV where you can only use the ‘cut’ function (no transitions)

8 a CMV using at least 3 different overlay VFX

a CMV that uses one location that you change to look like different rooms

a CMV involving the use of green screen

this challenge is as it says about challenging yourself, there’s no competition and you do not have to complete this challenge if you don’t want

you can do it in any order you please but they are organised in what we think is difficulty order

please don’t try and do these one a day, take time in your filming, it usually takes us a week minimum to plan film and edit a video.
